Had similar problem only wire broke at other end where it connects to other connector ,over time the up/down motion will cause the wire to break ,soldered a wire and heatshrink tubing did the trick, how long will it last who knows but it's a common problem in Chryslers.

Question, would you happen to know much about 06 PT cruisers? My driver side window stopped working then my passenger then both my back windows stopped working at the exact same time. Do you think it's my switch? Also my battery died and I've béen jumping it a bit until I get another one. Please help 😆

There are some test you could do to rule out the switch , by jumping the corresponding wires connecting to the switch that go to which door. Me personally I would start by tearing into the drivers door and inspecting the wires. Once there you can test the plug that goes to the window motor. If you hit the switch and get 12 volts that switch is good. I am betting its a wire corroded but these motors are prone to fail also . Very common on this year for the motor or wire. Best of luck and thanks for the question.

Many thanks for making and posting. Same thing happened to my 2008 Pacific Coast Highway. Found someone had already made a poor repair before. Thankyou for your time.

Can you do a video about door locks
Anyone know anything about door locks ?
My driver door wont lock, no idea why, the catch isnt engaging with the hoop on the body
I have tried taking it out, that didnt happen
I dont think I could change it if I cant get it out
Doesnt work on the key, doesnt even stay shut
It does tell me the door is open and doesnt take much to push it open
Regardless of how hard I slam the door, the lock just doesnt engage

It sounds like the whole mechanism is broken. There are 3 screws I believe on the door jam , they need removed and it has to come out through where you would access your window. Pay careful attention to how the metal arms connect as to put them back easily. If you are handy you may be able to figure out what the issue is and repair it. Thank you for the feedback.

My 2006 convertible none of my windows are working they usually automatically roll down a little when i open the door but they won't. None of them will roll down or up checked all the fuses none are burned or broken but my horn wont work either. Maybe a wiring issue behind the fuse box???

I have heard about issues with the pcm or a glitch , with the convertible . You may try disconnecting the battery for atleast 10 minutes to see if it resets. I also read something about a software update or reflash the pcm. Wiring is a possibility but seems more unlikely. Sorry I can't be of more help . Thanks for watching

Anyway of checking the motor before ripping the motor out ?
I cant find a replacement motor in the UK, same as the switch
This could well be a expensive repair

What I have noticed on the 06-10 is that it is always the motor. Now 05 and under seemed to be the switch failure. Basically you need to check the connector going to the motor. If it is getting power then it should work. This takes some disassembly however. The only other way I could think would be determining which wires to jump on the switch connector to rule out the switch. I will say that my best bet would be on the motor and even the wires going to the motor being broken , because it happens a lot. I would want to get the door panel off and inspect it. Hope this helps and thanks for watching.

@@s33therfan mine is an 2006 cruiser, if that helps, Route 66, had it about 11-12 years now

    • @s33therfan

Yes , most likely it is going to be that motor , because of getting used the most. This particular 2006 here I believe near every motor was bad in it. Like I said those wires will break also. I resoldered one as a temporary fix , but ultimately replaced the motor assembly. Thanks again.

@@s33therfan I had to drive 200 odd miles to get the new motor, checked it before I paid for it
Worked fine, bought it home, fitted it, (which was easier than removing it)
Worked fine, but that liner thing was wrecked, so couldnt replace that (what purpose does it serve ?)
I couldnt have done it without this video, THANKS, I owe you a pint
