Removing the door panel on the Chrysler PT Cruiser (2006-2010)

- Remove the 2 bolts under the handle
- Remove the screw behind the door opening handle
- Remove the plastic triangle behind the mirror, by levering with a screwdriver from above
- Starting from the bottom, pull it towards you the door panel, snapping the hooks snap
- Release the iron bar controlled by the inside handle, rotating the little hook plastic (blue in the left door, black in the right door)
- Disconnect the electrical connector of the central locking button
- Svitare i due bulloni sotto il maniglione, svitabili anche con cacciavite Torx.
- Svitare la vite (stella) dietro la maniglia di apertura porta
- Rimuovere il trinagolo di plastica dietro lo specchietto, facendo leva con un cacciavite dall'alto.
- Iniziando dal basso, fare leva e tirare verso di se il pannello porta, facendo scattare tutto i perni di plastica che lo tengono su ad incastro.
- Dietro il pannello, sganciare la barra di ferro che collega la maniglia di apertura porta, ruotando il piccolo gancetto (blu nella porta di sinistra, nero nella porta di destra)
- Disconettere il connettore del pulsante della chiusura centralizzata.

Nice work. Hand tools and a dress shirt and zero frustration shown trying to get that panel off once all the screws etc were gone. You the man. (I got a tad more frustrating than you with the plastic.......)

I was replacing the rear-view mirror. Despite studying the technique in 1:45 onwards, actually removing the panel from the door, I couldn't get it loose. However, there was sufficient room to reach down and unhook the old mirror wire, then attach the new one.

Where was the wire thing from the door opener to the door lock ?
Where was the cable that is connected to the plug on the panel ?
What happened to the plastic liner that is stuck on the door
Only thing I could see that helped was the putty knife to get the panel off
A bit of narration and movement on the camera would he good as well

That black liner panel you have to pull away that’s covered in adhesive crap - what the heck is it called and where can I order another? The one in my 07 cruiser is falling apart and I didn’t know it until I had to replace the window actuator.
