Chris , I’m looking at getting a winfows pc , I’ve avoided pc because of all the hassles most people have when using it as a workstation with cubase pro. I’d like to get some tips from you , maybe a video tutorial on how to set up a pc with Cubase pro ) on mac as you know we don’t have driver and weekly virus update problems as in pc land ) I really would appreciate your advice . By the way, I was comparing this method with the one where I import the reference audio and use the cue for switching in monitor section and I noticed that the cd version is louder than the amazon music one, for a very small difference. I think that all is correctly routed so I guess one version is louder than the other. I have the amazon music volume at 100 and disabled the volume normalization.

Thank you Chris! Great! But after more than a hour trying it out, I discovery that in Cubase you have to >PREFERENCES>PLUG-INS and uncheck "Suspend VST 3 plug-in processing when no audio signals are received" Is that right?
Yes, that's right, or else it will stop working after a few seconds...that option is usually de-activated by default

It looks like you’ve really got it down using a pc , obviously you’re a pro , can you also advise on the latest pc processors ? Intel or amd ? After so many years of mac I’m fed up and really don’t want to go into arm based Mac’s now ) I’ve got a ton of software plugins etc which still doesn’t work on arm Mac’s and I won’t get any of the benefits of the arm chips , just for your info my template has over 4000 tracks and I need a very powerful prebuilt pc , would you go server snd if so does Cubase pro work well with a pc based server ? Anything you can advise would be most appreciated thank you ) by the way , you’re in Calgary ? I’m in Vancouver 😂

The VST plugin must be set to the Input channel (as an Insert), not to the audio track. It works for me.
@@biodariusz It only worked via this strange rerouting of a group like Selim. Not sure why this is needed.
How do you configurtate the inputs in Cubase for the channel where you insert the plugin?

The software seems super promising! When I try to use it I get static / stuttering distortion as time goes on through my speakers / headphones, do you know how to fix this potentially? It is a crackling sound.

Hi Chris, this seems to be a godsend tool. However, I can't get it to work on my Windows 11 + Cubase 13 Pro computer. CB crashes everytime I try to insert the SW Receive plugin on my reference track. Tried to install and uninstall a few times. Would appreciate if you can make a short video on SW installation and configuration with CB so that it works properly on a WIndows 11 machine. Thanks in advance.
This is great but than to watch UA-cam without Cubase open you need to manually change the output back to your audio interface ?

I'm seriously thing about switching to cubase after the way studio one is taking. Cubase is giving more and more mixing and production tools instead of subpscription modes and collabs or cloud stuff.

For Spotify, I just checked, and apparently, they removed that Output option from the App and use the Computer's Audio Driver by default. In this case, you just need to make your Output Computer Audio to SW

I have also tried to configure it but I don't really understand how to do it...where is the plugin placed in Cubase?...Does this plugin have to be inserted in the effects insertions of an audio track? ...what plugin do you use, the receiving one I suppose?...
I have managed to listen to Spotify in Cubase...but I can't record what I hear.
I hope you can clarify these doubts in a video tutorial.

I'm covering this on my next video. To record, SW is a plugin, so like any other plugins, the plugin sound inserted in an audio track will not be recorded on that same track if you press on Record. Only the signal coming from the Input of the Audio channel will be recorded.
So to record with SW, insert SW Receive as an insert on a Stereo Group or FX channel, and that channel will be available as an Input option to select from your Audio track. Then record :-)

I have sort of problem with the recording mode. Do not get it! however the plug-in is great!
Half the problem is that Cubase ASIO system is very restrictive in the way it wants to grab audio. Great for recording not so good if u need to mix in or stream multiple sources. Logic users can map different drivers and route to zoom easily. I tried voicemeeter and it was a head wreck. Also windows doesn’t take kindly to some of these type of programs.

If your loopback interface feature work well, it's a great option for sure. Not all loopback interface feature are that flexible though... aka my interface Lol!
Cool video but unfortunately I'm kind of stuck. I'd like to record the system sound to a track and using the channel effect "Sessionwire Receive" I can actually see and hear the sound. But if i record to the track, nothing is being recorded. What could be the issue here?
I had the same problem until I worked out the plugin needs to go on the stereo-in - NOT the track you are recording to

Can't get it to work for some reason. I can get sound from Amazon Music to the Receive plugin. Works when in the Control Room but not as an insert on the track.
I'm running Cubase 13 on Windows 11 with a UR22 and it's not working. Too bad I guess.
Works when using SW receive on an input channel in Cubase, then routing the audio channel to the input to record, but doesn't work when inserting the receive plugin directly on an audio channel and trying to record, which kind of makes sense because of the routing. Also doesn't work for my I/O (Antelope ZenQ) when setting system sounds on PC, I see the meters but no sound? I also use Sonarworks System Wide and added a new Output for SW, but still no system sound. For me it seems only Voice Meter works with my I/O for system Audio.
Would to know more about the OBS software as process. Thatnks

I assume it would, but I personally don't find the need to use 2 DAWs at the same time. From that point latency will depend on how many other plugins you have in your DAW sessions

I don't know about Deezer, but Amazon and Tidal both offer Hi-Res audio that are the same quality
Just one more question i can do in my uad interface loopback thru virtual channels and listen to any audio from spotify, youtube music amazon music etc directly into cubase without this sessionwire is this for people that don't can do it this way or is there any other advantages?

yeah... or u just could use stere-in in the routing so you could directly record your windows desktop sound... whatever you're playing... windows player youtube spotify amazon music and so on...
You need a Loopback option of your interface to do so, but lots of audio interfaces don't have a proper Loopback feature to do this correctly.

A disaster in Windows. Everything in Cubase stutters after installation. Had to uninstall it immediately.
what about loopback option on soundcard istnt that the same?
Yes, its the same, however not all interfaces have loopback, and some don't have a proper loopback feature to do this, like my interface for example
Hello Chris, When I try to start the download I get a warning from Windows not to download. Reason: the publisher is not recognized.
That happens a lot on Windows with small developers...don't worry about it, the plugin suite is safe

@@Rainsurfer-01 The Sessionwire Service has a trial, not the plugin. The service is a Zoom type system for mixing collaboration, and it uses the plugin to communicate from Cubase to Sessionwire, like I do from Cubase to OBS, or Amazon Music to Cubase.
