I really love this style of "I painted this first and now I am narrating what I did and why". I haven't see this before that I can recall, and it's really helpful. The quality of the words you're using is noticeable higher because you own attention is not divided between painting and talking, and you can point at things while the painting is happening, and go back and forth. Really a winner.

Wow. Such a great usage of time lapse to go backwards and forward into the oainting. It was kinda magical watching the layers go on and then off, and certainly helped with comprehension. Thank you for the time you out into that. That was excellent. ⭐

As soon as I recover from surgery, I am planning to take your watercolor course. You explain and detail each situation that may arise in the process of painting with this medium.
    Thank you.

Another fantastic video and lesson, Matt! Thank you for the time and effort you put into your teaching and the editing of your videos.
I totally agree with another viewer who commented about the effectiveness of the timelapse moving back and forth. It was a great touch and so helpful in understanding the lesson even better. I also appreciate that you mention your color mixes as well.
Once again, thank you! Love this channel and the great wealth of knowledge you share with us

Fabulous! Great lesson on tones, light, shadows etc. I like how you use a variety of colors in the shadows. Connected shapes… wow. I need to see if you do seascapes.

A great tutorial again, I am going to try and apply this today instead of rushing through. Just wondering if you wet the painting again for the second layer? With me I am so slow it is going to be dry by the time I get there.

So I've been a acrylic artist for a long time. A lot of ink and pencil art, and spray can art. This last year I started my adventures into watercolor.
I've been trying to apply the same principles to my watercolor art but I just can't seem to get proper color separation or really beautiful contrast.
I'm just now getting the hand of washes...but everything now is either took weak or waay too strong.
    Any tips?
