There's been a lot of praise for the Cambridge Audio MXN10 ($400-$500), to be used as a streamer with a standalone DAC. But maybe that one came out a year or two ago...
But what if you just want a high quality streamer. I already have a Pre amp, which is superior to anything the NAD can offer and has an MC / MM that rivals the best, standalone or not. So I'm looking at a streamer only and oerhaos a Streamer/ DAC at this stage I have a CD player which I'd like to connect to the DAC too, so what are the best options up to 3K or would an A10 get me there with the Streamer/ DAC option?
So how much will I gain in music quality from using Spotify lossless on my phone going to a Bluetooth receiver into my preamp versus getting a dedicated music streamer?
i didnt understood the cabrindge audio comment around vinyl. Is he saying that the unit lack turntable input but thats not usually what you want ... better to keep that source fully analog or in general that vinyl is stupid...
Why spend so much on streaming? music & movie streaming services are all trying to find their profitability. Many have already disappeared, others are merging. When your favorite streaming service closes, you wind up with an expensive brick. Just opinion.
@@davidspendlove5900 not all, some of the new vinyl produced is average at best , I allways like a rummage in the charity and second hand shops , still love my turntable, but open to new stuff ,happy listening
You're missing a category between Affordable and Aspirational. Between the $263 Ultra and the $1800.00 lies a large segment of mid level streamers.

What would be the function of a phono stage in a digital streamer?
phonographs
You could also include the Zidoo UHD8000 in the mix. Basically an Eversolo A6, but with full media playback as well 👍👍
@@69leehammond ohh interesting? Full media playback as Netflix streaming? Or local files?
I got myself an Auralic Altair demo for just over a grand it’s fantastic

If no bits are lost in the process, you gain nothing.

I think streamers at this point in time should be included with dacs...I know some are, but still...
no hifi Rose, no Eversolo, they are outstanding !
They gave the amp6 glowing reviews last year.
Exactly what I was about to say. I wonder how would those stack up against eversolo

Now the new A10:could be poised to move up the ranks 😊
What does it do?
What are about streamers as transport?
It’s good to have that flexibility to have a separate dac , it future proofs things a little.
@davidspendlove5900 agreed.
dCS!
Not a review of streamers. These are all in one units. I have a DAC, and clicked here to learn about dedicated streamers.
eversolo all the way ...
Or the same companies full media version, the Zidoo UHD8000 👍👍
No Eversolo, what bias.
Best streamer? Your phone.

What services have closed ?
Yeah just stick to the physical formats , there’re better anyway.

@@davidspendlove5900 Streamers give you access to almost every recording ever made at more than CD quality. How big is your storage unit?
