To clear up the debate: This video is of the Category A transport van leaving Liverpool Crown Court taking Mark Fellows and Steven Boyle back to prison after the case was adjourned for Christmas. The other YT video of the Category A transport in daylight was in the morning on the way TO Liverpool Crown Court. PS. If you ever see one of these convoys in your rear view mirror, MOVE! If you are coming up to a roundabout and can see/hear the convoy anywhere other than behind you, don't try to make your move...just wait until the convey has gone down whichever exit they wanted and then be on your way. One of the large armed police BMW's WILL force you off the road.
@urbex2007 Considering I work for the prison service, I think I know what I am talking about. If you are in their way, they WILL move you. That bus stops for NOTHING. But hey, if you think you know better, by all means try to stand your ground when one is coming up behind you. And they won't get prosecuted for forcing you out of the way...you will, however, spend quite a few hours in police custody explaining why you didn't give way to the big van with the blue flashing lights with a convoy of other vehicles around it that are basically screaming "GET THE F*** OUT OF MY WAY"...and trying to convince police that you weren't attempting to stop or hijack said prison transport to release whatever criminal (of the worst kind by the way) was inside
The police outriders usually ride ahead of the main convoy and block junctions etc to stop vehicles and keep them out of the way, I've seen convoys over the years and they don't stop for red lights etc .
What specifically do you mean by "force you off the road"? Obviously you have to try and attempt to move out their way but they can't cause a road traffic collision just to get past you. Emergency services are responsible for the safety of the public when driving on blue lights.
Funny how high profile, high risk escorts have a big song and dance around them. Stick them in a plain van and shift them in the early hours when everbodies asleep. Much less drama, and you’d likley see any ambush coming easily.
@urbex2007 I don't know about that but on further inspection the Met Police's prisoner escort convoy appear to be the same composition and procedure as this. Perhaps the SPG can afford to stay siren-less because of their flexibility on motorcycle; but I think it's superfluous 'emergency warning equipment' are used for what should be a routine drive. Maybe the solution would be more motorcycles, and Armed constables jammed into fewer cars.
when transporting prisoners or drugs they have the sirens on.when the met spg moves they blow whistles.its the same all over britain. i hope this helps you
@H HC But my question is why do they choose to use full sirens when transporting prisoners, instead of whistles? Are they warning members of the public that there's a dangerous prisoner inside who could combust at any moment's time, and that the blaring sirens are there to warn off and scare away anyone who might even THINK about breaking out the prisoner?
@@chrisandvicky Mark Fellows and Steven Boyle? maybe but i thought they were transported during daylight hours as seen in this video ua-cam.com/video/eeAbrF5zqVE/v-deo.html
Are they really that dangerous? Do they really need that much back up? (I don’t think so)...if they were in America they would just be another prisoner. Even if it was Hannibal lecture he’s locked in a sweat box hand cuffed in a prison van with screws inside. one armed police car driving behind would be plenty.
POLICE BIKERS "FANTASTIC IN TRAFFIC" AS POLICE CAR DRIVERS ARE JUST GREAT !!!!!!

urbex2007 Agree 100% they are trained to find away around the hazard, not to force traffic out of the way.

Those BMW will NOT force you off the road, calm down with the drama, they will make you aware of their presence, that is all

Use of sirens seemed excessive when compared to Met SPG

@@koolyman I'd say it's shock and awe
I think at the very least use two-tones to reduce the noise pollution
There the only vehicles to pass through liverpool without having there wheels pinched by kevin the scouse smackhead
So who was in the prison van that required such an escort?
I think it's Mark Fellows

Them escorts must of cost a lot
8 pound 37 an hour mate
Apparently you can get them quite cheap, especially if you know the right street corner or website to look.
High risk? Is this coz the person could of slipped in a puddle? so they get an escort

Hannibal is from a movie and he escaped didn’t he 😂🤣 nice comparison though
Yet in USA they need a convoy of 83 vehicles every time their president needs to go to the corner shop!
