    Thank you again for the hive you gave me at the Bee Expo. I shared it to my grandchild age 9 who is starting keeping bees with my help this year. We are loving working with it. We plan to order more in June and I cannot wait to transfer my bees out of my 10 frame boxes.

    I signed up for your campaign. I look forward to June. I think this is a great idea. I'll be interested to see the price.

      We know that pricing will be important. We are committed to having it manufactured in the states. We also know that we need to both cover costs and make a bit of profit to exist as a company. We have a little less than a month to finalize the pricing. George

    I was trying to figure out how you were keeping the undersides of the frames from propolizing. It's just a simple strip of wood on the box that makes it work. Simple, yet genius.
    I follow you guys and watch all your videos. I'll be waiting until June to put my purchase in. I'm in Bucks County, Pa. and would like to pick it up if that's how you do your business. I'm getting older too and want to take the strain off the back.

    • @TheKeepersHive
      @TheKeepersHive  5 місяців тому +1

      Yeah. The bees cant access the end of the top bars of the frames. This is where bees put propolis. I can promise you that if used correctly the frame slide very easily. George

    Show us the base! Is it solid? I see the holes, are those the entrances?

    • @TheKeepersHive
      @TheKeepersHive  5 місяців тому

      It uses any standard 10 frame bottom board. You can even use standard 8 frame bottom board too. The 'holes' are my home made entrance reducer/mouse guard that I use on all the hives. 7 3/8 inch x 3/8 inch channels that the bees go in and out. I think standard wide open entrances are too big. So, they cannot go over the top; correct? Genius; pure genius. I wish I could purchase one. I'm the poorest Beeker in the US, but a girl can dream, can't she?

    • @TheKeepersHive

      Nope the queens can not go over the top. People love local honey...maybe a way to make some money back in beekeeping? George

    June cannot get here fast enough! Any idea when the June orders would be ready for pickup or delivery? Here is one of my crazy questions, have you ever experimented with using all medium boxes? That way the exchange box could be a medium box and after doing the demaree the exchange box becomes a honey super. One issue I see is what to do with the deep exchange box once all the brood hatches. My goal is to only maintain three hives not to keep adding more hives. Curious to hear your thoughts.

    • @TheKeepersHive
      @TheKeepersHive  5 місяців тому

      No crazy question? I have had a lot of crazy ideas with hive design over the past 8 years. About 2 years ago, I made a bunch that had 8 frame medium brood chamber and ran them in my test yard. I was pretty convinced not enough room for the queen to lay. Once the deep exchange box hatches, let them back fill with with honey and drop it down over the brood box for winter. Some of the delivery time will depend on the final choice of manufacturer which will be announced soon! George

      @@TheKeepersHive How do you deal with over bee population if you need to do more than one Demaree?

    Very interesting design. Now that I'm closing in on 70, the deep boxes are getting very difficult to lift.

    I am on your waiting list for this hive and possibly the 2 brood box system. I began 8 frame boxes 4 year's ago and I love this approach. 2 year's ago I started using 1 deep 2 mediums. Last year I got into shallow supers for cut comb. This year after my extraction I will be trying(by customer requests) cream honey. no extra work involved but the above paths have been financially better than my jar honey sale's. I am hoping that your system will be benificial to my venture. I am open to the idea of picking up my order to meet you George and Nat and to personally thank you. Southeast North Carolina

      @@TheKeepersHive I would recommend getting the Ceracel holders from Blithewood Bee Company and then the Ross Round "frames" from Blue Sky bee supply. Blue Sky simply does the thin foundation better, but Blithewood's products are all top quality.

    What about a top bar hive made that way but no boxes stacked on top at all .. but All you have to do is open the top then just the section you want to check out and have everything you made to that hive to stop the bees do that to a top bar hive... that way you don't have to lift at all... just a thought...

    • @TheKeepersHive
      @TheKeepersHive  5 місяців тому

      Interesting thought. Ideas take a long time to make prototypes and then beta test and then revise. I have never used horizontal hives so I am not the one to work on this idea. George
