I had this problem on MY 2000 Vstar. My problem turned out to be the left hand switchblock. The part is so prone to failure that Yamaha discontinued it. I had to replace it with the Honda equivalent from a Shadow AND have all the fried wiring rebuilt.
I have done almost the same number of things to my VStar 1100 as you have. I think my kill switch has the same issue as yours. I am totally clueless as to how to remove the kill switch from the housing to check the contacts. If you can tell me or have pics for that job, I will show my appreciation by sending you a VISA gift card. Thanks!
Thank you my v star lloo got the dash and lights on.but won't turn over small wheasing sound..sound like under the seat.thats what I think it is, hopefully.
Just put a new starter,starter clutch,new relay Idk what to do now except leave it in a a bad neighborhood so I can get that hefty 1000 doller insurance 😂
My 99 vstar 650 sometimes fires right up and sometimes cranks very slow and then starts And one time the start button actually did nothing after a couple presses it worked, new battery you have any ideas ?
Sounds like the battery needs replaced but .. you may have a drwa on the battery, something draining it when you're not riding. Did you put any add-ons like lights or anything on it?

The starter switch completes the ground to the relay coil. The first time you must have made a path to ground.

I have the exact same problem on a xvs650. The wiring harness and everything looks identical. Did changing the solenoid fix the problem?

I have the same exact motorcycle he doesn't know I asked him I've been looking for sooo long to find some bags.
It's a place called BadDad in Fort Wayne Indiana but your gonna be paying $2500 just for some simple bags.

Blue is ground on the relay coil.
One of them fuses is the main fuse and the other 30amp is the spare.
Did those saddle bags look to big ?
Where did he buy them ?
Do you have a number the I could call to troubleshoot?
