I came into the game thinking Dylan was going to be my least favorite, but he was honestly probably one of my favorites. I also looooved Miles' acting. I felt he was one of the strongest actors in the game. He could be awkward when he needed to, funny, serious, and not to mention scared and in serious pain, like holy crap. Dude had the most convincing turning and painful segments
I agree. I expected Dylan to be annoying, but he quickly became one of my favorites. The actor was also very impressive.

@@heyimlate5656 I can totally see him landing roles in indie type games, his voice would fit with Life Is Strange perfectly and there's a lot of games like that nowadays. I would like to see him in more stuff like the quarry though
when interviewed, it turns out that Miles' character is indeed similar to Dylan in the game, especially when he talks a little bit haltingly and I like that💀🤚

I was watching the vod of him playing the quarry and I legit did not know when miles was talking vs dylan without looking at the screen. I don’t know what I expected but it was still wild lmao

Dylan was a highlight of the game. Honestly some of the best line and jus general acting? There was a moment where Ryan throws keys to him and if you fail I think it's the funniest shit ever. But also the "I've heard of bears" line after the radio seqeunce.
Dylan in The Quarry and Salim and Jason in House of Ashes are the best Dark Pictures characters!

At first I was indifferent to Dylan and I honestly didn’t think I would like him, but he quickly became one of my favorites. The SOS message was hilarious.
Same! I remember watching the radio scene and wondering how much was improv. All of the actors did super well (especially compared to previous games) but Miles (Dylan) and Zach (Jacob) really stood out to me
Miles has one of the strongest acted scenes imo, SPOILER WARNING
The part where he and Kaitlyn finished fending off the werewolf at the scrapyard, and in the scenario where Dylan is about to turn into a werewolf, the multitude of emotions and power where Dylan is screaming and warning Kaitlyn to pretty much, GTFO, while all the other characters didn't if they transformed, just shows the resilience and actual care his character has for his co-councilors.
Ikr! None of the others shown as much self restraint and presence of mind when close to turning, as Dylan. Even Max who is supposed to be really nice. He actually warned Kaitlyn to run away from him which no one else was able to do.
@@rumanatarafder616 I feel like it had less to do with self restraint or niceness rather than with being aware of what is gonna happen. As far as I recall, most of them didn't actually realise what was happening to them when it happened, like Emma, Jacob, especially Nick as he was the first one and Max (hope I didn't forget any of those who actually transformed). It all caught them off guard but Dylan saw it happen first hand so he may have been prepared better. I think only Aby, Kaitlyn, Ryan, Dylan had witnessed Nick's transformation that night and were able to draw conclusions. It's hard to instantly recall all of the material I've watched so far but I don't remember anyone except Laura knowing what was about to happen to her and she did fight it too so I think being aware of your transformation actually helps your subconscious to stay a bit more sane.

Dylan was absolutely my favorite character- the kinda guy you just wanna hang out with.
Also- funny that Miles mentions the modding community adding bears; my friends and I want someone to switch the characters with their werewolf forms and the werewolves with humans.
I now have a deep need to see werewolf Jacob crying about werewolf Emma breaking his heart

Im so glad he asked to improvise the distress call. It felt much more natural and in character to just go for it than to make a written monologue of a character improvising sound natural.
Source: I had to do that with a character breaking down into crazy rambling and would've much rather improvised it rather than memorize a block of text and try to make it natural
Dylan was the best man and character in that whole game 😭 I'll repeat this in ever The Quarry video I see, kind of wished to see more of him during the gameplay.

Dylan is my favorite character type, to which, perhaps, Mike from "Until Dawn" can be attributed, like the same jerk who seems to be the most ridiculous character, but in the end turns out to be a good survivalist.

[[[[[[SPOILER WARNING]]]]] honestly the scrapyard scene when he screamed at kaitlyn to get away from him was such a key moment for me. I already was smitten with him before cause he's hilarious and not at all matched with my first impression of him anymore, but that moment really solidified him being my second fave, hell maybe my fave character of the game. It was such a emotionally charged and intense moment you really felt it in his voice AND saw the sheer panic in his eyes and desperation about his helplessness over the lack of control and yet the only thing on his mind was getting kaitlyn to safety.
Idk how to explain it but when you see the jokester guy who even managed to crack a smile or drop a sassy remark despite being in this deep shit, someone usually collected in his way scream their lungs out like that as you have never heard it before and see the fear in his eyes makes you feel actually distressed too. Dylan is really selfless, even when he fled with kaitlyn and it got Aby killed, he voiced remorse at leaving her behind (not like he could've done something unarmed anyway). He really cares a lot for the others and has great mental strength to be able to even warn her when the others couldn't. In conclusion, all my homies love Dylan.

I honestly loved all the voices but I think emotional wise Miles, Brenda, and Emma’s VA (sorry I don’t know her name) shined the most when it came to fear. Brenda’s screams were so raw, while Miles line delivery was undefeated, especially during the turning scene, and Emma’s voice actor during the werewolf Emma scene with abi and abi kinda provoking her? CHEFS KISS!!

Well...
i remember watching a livestream of the quarry playthrough, wasn't really paying attention to Dylan cause I'm all in for Kaitlyn, however after his "message" blabbering nonsensical nonsense I fell in love like suddenly got struck by this random as hell man but aint complaining
and the fact that Dylan and Kaitlyn bounces off each other so effortlessly omg they are THE MVPs

@@WhitePhoenix22 if u get Emma infected and she turns into a werewolf and Kaitlyn and Dylan face off against her. There is a scene where if Kaitlyn refuses to shoot Emma, Dylan shoves her out of the way and if he is not infected he is mauled to death. So I thought that's pretty brave and selfless of him.

Honestly I think it really depends on how you play the game. There’s plenty of moments where you can see Dylan be selfless, intelligent, and even helpful such as the radio hut scene where he thought about doing a feedback loop and if he’s infected in the scrapyard, he’ll scream at Kaitlyn to run from him before he turns into a werewolf himself! But honestly who wouldn’t be a chicken when there’s supernatural creatures trying to kill you and your coworkers lol
