I am from Thailand. I still remember that people all over the world are praying for them. In Thailand that time, hundreds of people working together in front of the cave or in the cave whatever rescuers who risking dive through the cave, foreigners who fly from half of the world to help, military who pump the water and do labor and prepare the helicopter, hospital who stand by for days, locals who pray or help with cooking. It like everyone working in unity. Rip for the rescuer. Sorry if my English is bad. Edit: OMG My first 2k likes. Thank you everyone. Edit2: Damn it's 3.3k now. Thank you very much.
There were also people who have willingly allowed their rice fields to be used as water storage areas, and many volunteers were washing the dirty clothes of the rescue teams
HERE IS ALL THE DETAILS The boys and their coach had just finished their soccer game, and decided to go to the cave because it wasn’t the rainy season yet. They went deep into the cave, and then tried to turn around, only to find out they were stuck, and had to survive somehow, hoping they would be found, and not have any food, with nothing but the support of the coach. I’ve read the book and watched the movie on this it doesn’t really talk about more than just navigating water, but the divers also gave the kids and their coach food for days while trying to get them out, and with the strong currents it was harder. Also, you couldn’t hit anything. Your mask, the kids mask, the tank, NOTHING. They also had to struggle with setting it up so that the divers could get air tanks on the way because it would take like eight hours. It was so extreme that locals were giving farmland to help with pumping out water. Also, the kids were in pitch black, so they were kind of struggling with that too. They could only get cave divers because any other diver or person doesn’t have no way near that sort of energy and endurance and carefulness to fight the strong currents (guys the currents were really strong, nonstop flowing) and everything else. They even had to use extra syringes to keep the kids asleep, and had to struggle, not hit anything, open the thing, put the stinger on, then after dosing the kids, put the stuff up, not drop the child, not hit anything, and not drop the light. It was a freaking war Hope you enjoyed reading this, because it took time to write down Edit: also, the divers had barely enough room for theirselves in most of the cave, so carrying a person and doing everything else was basically suicide

@@edd.5169 yes bring religion into everything. Sure it was god and not the work of many brave men that saved these children. Way to take away from the heroic acts of these amazing people risking their lives to save others.
The last boy stayed awake and had to stay calm to be pulled out like this. It was a 6 hour dive btw. Very serious and dangerous circumstances. They called in navy seals and volunteer professional divers (one of which who passed) to save the boys and coach. They expected high casualties, but all 13 boys lived and the coach. The one hero volunteer diver did panic underwater from losing his oxygen mask and likely hit his head, causing his death. High water level, tight extremely right tunnels, and very low visibility. They were tied to a medical board of some sort, not carried by hand, and pass thru to the next diver at each underwater site. The anesthesia had to be measured specifically because of the conditions. The boys were already suffering from low oxygen and they had to stay conscious to breathe with their mask on while they were transported thru. At each above water site their vitals were taken before going back under the next cave. So everything was very detailed and risky. The movie on this was really well done too.
That's not all, those diving masks had to be made specially fit to be able to work properly; the people of the town also offered to help by building drains in the side of the mountain to start decreasing the water level so the mission would be easier. One of the only reasons the boys lasted so long in the cave is because their soccer coach that was with them was also a monk. The story of this rescue mission is actually really interesting. There's a book written about it called All 13, not a long read, too.
So don’t trust monks at all then. A monk led 13 children into a 2 mile cave nearly ending all their lives. And actually did end up killing a diver in the process! 😂 how smart calm and spiritual that man must be
Having the confidence to sacrifice your life to help 4+ people that needed help is actually pretty amazing, rip to that fallen man/dude. Edit:Oh ma gah,i did not expect this comment to get to 1.9k! Thank you all!
thats because you can explain something really well in a really short time, but schools require you to explain it using long explanations, which is almost impossible to do perfectly, so students just extend everything they already have, even if it doesnt make as much sense anymore.
I remember watching the news with my grandmother and praying for them. I hope no one ever gets into this situation again. RIP to the person who died trying to help those boys.
Wasn't this story on Netflix, or UA-cam These tunnels were so tight, it took each diver 2-3 hours, one way, to get each child out. The country called on the best cave divers in the world & had them flown in. These were serious heros, putting their own lives in danger.
I’ve seen a lot of people confused about my comment so I edited it to clarify. There was an assistant coach because the people trapped were the coach, and it’s students. However the coach noticed one of the kids were upset so he decided to go on a trip for everyone at the cave. The weather was not looking good and before they realized it, the cave was flooded. The coach ordered every kid to be calm and ration their food supplies until before the rescue team comes to save them.

I'm actually a little curious, were Thai people mad at Elon Musk for showing up and trying to pull a pr stunt, and then insulting the diver that was trying to save the kids? I remember it blowing up in the US but I was curious if Thai people even cared enough about him to be angry.
This was that soccer team, right? I remember this was all over the news in Hong Kong too. I have since learned a lot more as an adult about how extreme and dangerous cave diving is. The fatality rate is something insane
I have watched this. There was a movie based exactly on this which matches this video description. It was after a football game that the boys decided to go and have some fun exploring the caves. Now luckily, their coach decided to go with them to have some fun too and also to protect them but the sad thing is that it was one of the boys birthdays that day and when the heavy rains came, it flooded the area and since Thailand did not have very experienced divers, they had to wait for British diver rescuers to save them. Btw, i am pretty sure none of the divers died but one did almost get lost.
There's a movie about this! I remembered watching it in class and I was so sad for the diver dying. The boys were a soccer team that usually explore that cave, it often floods and that day they went in it rained heavily. In fact, the water was slowly rising while they were inside. People across all states came to save the boys too.
One of the divers even died trying to rescue these boys. This just goes to show how determined they were to save people they didn’t even know, respect. And not to mention the boys who survived 18 days in a cave, i think they also deserve some respect for surviving so long. I would be out in 5 days with no water. Respect to everyone involve.
Yup & then paid someone to try and dig up dirt on the diver because he called Elons mini submarine impractical. People really don’t understand that Elon really isn’t a nice dude.

They are stucking at the cave for 18 days. 4. The coach told those kids to stay still and not moving much to save energy and being calmed in this situation that why the kids can survive for 18 days.
it... what? they werent vacationing there, these divers got flown there by search and rescue teams from their respective countries, as did the expert anesthesiologist, they had ro be requested because local search and rescue was not skilled enough to get down there. i remember following this closely because it was one topic of interest in college. idk what the fuck you were smoking but you need to quit, that shits gonna kill you dawg
it should also be noted there are divers and cave rescue specialists who are readily on-call for rescue expeditions all the time, they do their day jobs, but are on a registry of rescue operations teams for all S&R to call when a situation they are certified and specialized in is presented. i know someone who is a rescue diver and his day job is a fucking forklift operator at a hardware store, he's only been called a few times, but he has all the licensure and rescue certification he needs.
what..? They were footballers and the divers weren't vacationing there (as pointed out by Nicholas). They were sent there by different countries to rescue them. Other countries sent help like pipes, drills, etc.
I remember watching the news about this every day, from what I remember they were football players on like a team building trip, and the storms had flooded the cave as well as made it even more difficult to organize a rescue, I also remember when they reported on the death of the diver. Truly so sad.
False, this is actually a shortcut from the football training area to their village. They lived in a remote area, this isn't just a case of boys being boys. They regularly used this shortcut but they're just unlucky that day
For people who didnt know one of the boys head was too small for the face masks so they had to make custom. Another thing! The reason the cave was hard to navigate was because the cave branched into two paths. Final thing, these four kids were part of a soccer team and their chaoch had taken them there.
Same, I'm from Thailand. I was also devastated for them. And don't worry ur English is amazing!
There were also people who have willingly allowed their rice fields to be used as water storage areas, and many volunteers were washing the dirty clothes of the rescue teams
I don't live in thailand try to guess the country I live in
@@kathypinedo9811 No.
As an American I am here to say your English is better than most Americans 🤣
HERE IS ALL THE DETAILS
The boys and their coach had just finished their soccer game, and decided to go to the cave because it wasn’t the rainy season yet.
It was a freaking war
Hope you enjoyed reading this, because it took time to write down
Edit: also, the divers had barely enough room for theirselves in most of the cave, so carrying a person and doing everything else was basically suicide
It is a tragic miracle only one rescuer died

Thanks for going into more detail about the sedative!

That was an amazing rescue 👏👏👏
That's not all, those diving masks had to be made specially fit to be able to work properly; the people of the town also offered to help by building drains in the side of the mountain to start decreasing the water level so the mission would be easier. One of the only reasons the boys lasted so long in the cave is because their soccer coach that was with them was also a monk. The story of this rescue mission is actually really interesting. There's a book written about it called All 13, not a long read, too.
