KC and the Sunshine Band - Boogie Man and Keep It Coming (March 23, 2024 - Primm NV)

To be honest, on March 23rd, I was a little hesitant to see KC and the Sunshine Band. Last I heard of them was when they were on the charts in the 70's and early 80's. They had some great songs but I never sought them out and they were never in the line-up in any oldies show I've gone to. So, when I learned they were headlining a show at the Desert of the Stars Arena in Primm Valley, about 40 miles south of Las Vegas, and VetTix had extra tickets, I thought this was an opportunity that I couldn't pass off. I secured tickets for myself and caught a ride with two friends who had already planned on attending. They had seats close to the stage and I sat in stands, exactly where I sat a month earlier when I was there to see Stephanie Mills. The view was great but the walkway around the stadium was right in front of me so during the first half of the show, people were walking around the stadium. But by the time they got around to these songs, the crowd was firmly dancing in their seats and singing along. It was a party! KC (Harry Wayne Casey) brought Disco heaven to the stadium, which is not surprising since his songs help kick-off the disco craze. But at age 73, he surprised me with his dance moves and energy. I was falling in my seat just watching him spin on stage! Early on he joked that if we came to see the KC of the 70's, he no longer exists. In reference to his body size, he said this is how Justin Bieber is going to look like at 50 years from now. I must say, he put on a great energetic show with his horn section synchronizing their choreography during each songs! Also he had dancers galore swirling all over the stage whom he danced with as he sang - live! Excellent show!

Harry turned 73 on Jan. 31st 2024! Unbelievable how much time has passed!! 😮 I'm so glad he's still able to get up on stage and be so active!!! 😊
