R2R only highlighted this one as having 10GB protection, Weaver made a mistake and said imagine 10 x 10GB, when in fact the screenshot he showed of the 10GB deduction by R2R only related to one product. Basically, every R2R cracked version is much smaller than the original software due to the bloaty protection being stripped out. They also run faster, are more stable, and have the security vulnerabilities removed. R2R versions are better.

      Except this never happens. I'm a small time plugin developer myself and the way people justify theft is pretty obnoxious. Yeah, sure only if my plugin was 10mbyte instead of 100mbyte you'd "buy it" right. I understand if somebody has no money for real hardware or an expensive plugin but guess what, you can use other things, there are free plugins, lots of very good things are available for free. Saying "I would buy it if the UI was blue but I hate red and so I hate this company" is a lot more obnoxious than saying you're a thief because its easy and available, but then do not get surprised if companies and developers try to defend their product. Like, what thief would be angry that the company he's stealing from wont let him?

    The perma ban is crazy.
    I used to use almost exclusively cracked plugins .
    A decade later , I don’t have a single cracked plugin in my main studio computer , tho my old system still has several old plugins I’m just too lazy to delete I only use that system for mobile sessions .
    People grow and as money becomes less of a problem, they invest and buy the companies that make products they love .

      But you did not pay for it. You get banned if you're using a stolen product only. Regardless if you bought anyother plugin from them. I'm pretty sure its in their terms and conditions, that is, and btw thats the same with every cloud software company that they can cancel your access any time for reasons written in the terms. Most people mindlessly click through these but for us developers these legal things really matter exactly for these kind of reasons. And once you delete the cracked plugins you get your paid plugin back.@@Rareos

      @Arcessitor 10 місяців тому +3

      @@Rareos Well that's get into the murky territory of considering any online product 'owned' and any acquiring of it without paying 'theft.' It's all legally ambiguous at best. You technically 'license' products in the same way you do games. And they can discontinue that 'service.' It's complicated.

    • @Rareos
      @Rareos 10 місяців тому +2

      @@Arcessitor yeah it sure does, and even though there is nothing in Acustica’s terms that explicitly states how having cracked software on your system constitutes a breach of terms, their vaguely worded terms simply say.. “We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice or liability“… essentially saying they can do whatever they want, won’t give your money back, etc.. the problem is it just reveals so much about the nature of the company and people will make what they will from primarily that dynamic. Legally it can already be argued one is compelled to use cracked versions because of the act’s of Acustica themselves, as in, the unnecessarily large file sizes cost the consumer in foregone storage (how much does Apple charge for internal hard drive space?), and eventually speed and efficiency of the system they operate on, and the security concept ultimately has been proven to be ineffective anyway, the anti-piracy tactic does not even work and the code has been shown to be vulnerable. If the company makes legit use of their software a massive burden without any real benefit to the customer / an actual burden to the customer, the piracy can be argued actually a legitimate way to use the software, and if Acustica wants to just suspend people from their paid products, they should pay up 💰.

For “beatmakers” and 16 year old cracked plugin hoarders (everyone been there) it doesnt even matter because they cant tell API or SSL apart anyway, and AA plugins are not aimed at them, they are aimed at people who might have even use the original hw side by side, many professional engineers praise these plugins for a reason and the do not care about “file size” which is a literal non-issue in this day and age.

    • @novakattila
      @novakattila 10 місяців тому +1

      Professionals can afford machines where CPU performance dont matter OR learn to commit their stuff to audio (which because of platform incompatibility, like when you have the project mixed and mastered on another system etc. or for archiving is a very good deal). Thats how the industry works professionally. 16 year old kids hoard plugins and put 32 saturation shit on their channels because they either dont have high quality tools/inputs (cant blame them for that) or because they dont know what they are doing (more likely). If you take AA, in MOST cases I use a single channel strip of either a Neve, an API or an SSL kind of a single channel, which then I freeze and bounce. Thats all it, thats how people had been mixing records before "plugins" become a thing forever. You can mimick mixing on a $100.000 console with these plugins and the sound is 90% there, I can tell you as somebody who mixed on real SSL.
      You have 1 or 2 plugins per channel which do the heavy lifting, filtering, EQ and dynamics, and you're done. Good plugins can achieve this, like AA.
      Not 334 compressors and shiturators and EQ's on a single channel because you dont hear what they're doing because you lack room treatment or good headphones and thus throw everything at it because you dont know how to achieve good results.
      As a guy who gets projects from other people to mix this is how I tell somebody is a beginner or a professional or an advanced producer. Advanced producers might sound design with many weird ways with many plugins and outboards but when I get the project to mix its already cleaned, everything is named and hardware and a lot of things bounced on audio and they still have 12db headroom on the main. If you max out CPU with like a simple beat or song, unless you're doing some crazy stuff like music for movies or video games etc. you're most likely doing something wrong. And as I said there is always the way to commit to audio. @@crnkmnky

      No r2r used a ai to decrypt everything from their server and repacage them in other words r2r send their ai to grab the exe files

    I think ethically, its perfectly fine to buy software, and then use pirated versions to avoid all the bs. I do it with several plugins, particularly ones that use ilok, im not gonna use ilok, i fucking hate that shit, its pointless and does nothing to prevent piracy.

    I just hope Weaver Beats that videos like this don't become counterproductive if you know what I mean... I hope because a lot of people wouldn't be happy about that.

    The reason I stopped buying Acustica plug ins, is the size. I bought loads of their stuff, I also bought Nebula, update to 4.5 and N4 got messed up (was using Azzimov skins...everything was working fine before the last update). Anyway, great sounding stuff, but f@ck that sh!t. Lots of other great sounding plug ins around too, without the size, CPU hit and latency.

    Competition on the vst market is absolutely insane nowadays, they have no business acting this stupid and arrogant.

      Yeah but they sound the best on the market. Many people just hoard plugins and cant tell any of it and many people never even worked with hardware. Its like selling plugins to 5 year olds. Yeah you use a "tape plugin", you never heard of real tape and how the plugin sounds nothing like real tape etc. The market is full of people with 90 IQ who make beep boop shit on $200 clone synths. That is not Acustica's market and I'd say considering the "producer community" and how obnoxious it is today and how little there is to show from them in terms of creativity and moving music forward a plugin company like Acustica which actually innovates and gives access to unprecedented levels of sound not available before in the box they should in fact be more arrogant toward these kind of "I pretend I'm a music producer/engineer but all I do is make shitty videos on youtube with inflammatory opinons". If you cared about the sound and the sound only you would not care what the CEO says or how much disk space it needs or whatever other bullshit. People went through a lot of hoops back then to get the sounds now everyone copies...Just think about sampling stuff with a tiny 1 inch LCD screen on an old AKAI sampler. Thats the kind of spirit totally missing from todays producers. Always going to the cheapest way with the least amount of work because you cannot sit on your ass put in the effort aand do the job. Thats what I'm seeing a lot nowadays.

    I think it was also R2R who exposed some malicious code inside Tone2's Gladiator, some years ago now.
