The only good thing about maro peaks is that when you’re done with it, you can just take off the climbing helmet and it teleports you back to the seaskipper
I'll attempt the essay: Dead Island, while not typically one of the more frequented, interesting, or unique locations in the game, holds special value for a single reason: It serves as perhaps one of the best mid-game basically AFK ranged farming locations in Wynncraft. Because all enemies on the island are melee, all a prospective farmer would have to do is navigate to the church on the top of the hill, enter via the stained glass window, use a movement ability to stand on the chandelier, and cast spells for hours on end, a process which can be done while doing other things, like watching UA-cam videos on an a different screen. Unlike other farming locations, Dead Island offers consistency, and at very little risk of harm, as no enemy will ever spawn on the chandelier, all enemies are melee-only, and the path to and from the island's seaskipper can be easily navigated, while the condensed nature of the island makes losing the way to the main two locations nearly impossible. Along with this, Dead Island also serves as a not too terrible emerald farm, as the enemies nearly universally drop severed hearts, which can be exchanged for decent volumes of emeralds. This location can also be shared with friends, with a party able to mount up as a group on the chandelier and, presuming you're partied up, even melee classes should be able to take advantage of the XP share from their ranged counterparts. While easily outclassed in the later game by other cheesy farming locations, Dead Island's accessibility, reliability, and consistency are why I argue Dead Island should be moved higher on this ranking... although, like, not *that* much higher
Yeah, that's really annoying, although that's not a problem with the jungle, that's just Wynncrafts questing problems, so I didn't account for that in the ranking. Plus this Problem also applies later with Corkus/Molten Heights :/
its become way worse of a problem with the teleport scrolls revamp, because some of the quests take barely 5 minutes. i can wipe out the passage in 2 minutes because i have an ocean of antic beads in my bank from when i did the altar everytime before realizing the npc just wants AN antic bead. grand youth is wiped out in 5 minutes with a high mobility build, so is the kings son or whatever that one is called, and meanwhile i gotta drag my ass all the way back over to gavel to listen to laris whining for the 3rd time today because teleport scrolls regenerate in 10 minute intervals and i used it to teleport back to troms already.
@@AetTheFurry thinking about this now because someone else replied, but because of this shit quest design, I realised that I’ve never actually taken the moment to ever appreciate dernel jungle.
@@cringelord7776 Yeah, a lot of people hate Dernel because its so isolated, even if its one of the most pretty areas of Wynn. Wynncrafts quests feel very disconnected sometimes, we have three main provinces, and they all feel so isolated, that's why Wynncraft needs to improve the Ocean, to feel like a travelling hub, Seaskipper ain't cutting it at the moment
I think the gimmick of Maro Peaks is that most of the time you can't get pushed off because of the wooden fence spam on the bridges and many of the mountains themselves, and when you get to an open spot without fences to block you from falling off you have to make sure none of the "scavenger sentry" mobs, which are the ones with push, are alive nearby. Since those mobs (i think, i may be wrong as haven't been there in a while because of not wanting to deal with the climbing helmet bs) usually only spawn on the parts that have fences, you can prevent yourself from getting pushed off on the un-fenced areas by just killing all scavenger sentries when you see them, and taking stock of any that you haven't gotten to when you reach an area without fences. I think this makes for a neat way of making the player kill certain mobs and not just run past them, as well as making the player stay on the narrow bridges in order to not get pushed into the ocean which I think makes for an interesting dynamic with fighting mobs and such, and it was pretty satisfying for me when I realized this was a viable strategy, and playing this way has meant I've really enjoyed the last few times i went to this area. Overall I find a more difficult and maybe gimmicky area that's at least mostly fair with the right strategy to be much preferable to an area that is just boring mechanically, which I feel like Wynncraft has a lot of, which makes me really have a soft spot for maro peaks. That being said the area definitely has some problems. There doesn't seem to be really any intended way to get back up if you get pushed off, I usually just swim (or like fly) back to the seaskipper drop off spot and start over because trying to scale the mountain in an unintended spot is really unpleasant so that kind of sucks, and the climbing helmet thing is still really stupid. But overall I'd still put it in like C tier or higher on a tierlist and there are definitely places I think are worse, and it offers something I often find lacking in wynncraft. So yeah there is at least 1 person who does like Maro Peaks. I'd vomit all my other opinions here but maybe people would find that annoying idk. Ok but also, this is the kind of video I have been STARVING for for like, years. Thanks for making this and keep it up.

I feel Maro Peaks at a spiritual level. I had a lof of troubles with this place and totally agree with you. Especially these mobs that push you away and in my case into the sea mutliple times. It was a nightmare when Mage still couldn't teleport vertical.
And sadly, there are no plans of fixing it: The next two major updates, Rekindled World and Fruma don't seem to touch on the ocean at all, so I guess we need to live with Maro Peaks for at LEAST another two years :/
The first time i got to sky islands was where I was at low health while at molten heights and saw an exit so that i can escape and heal up. Then i saw that the ground was different i though it was just a visual bug on my laptop but when i looked closer and saw there was literally the void. It was such a memorable experience that it is probably one of my most favorite locations beaten only by olux (yes, fight me) and cotl
i honestly think that Time Valley deserves The 1 Spot, with the amount of Lore it contributes to The Entirety of Wynn. Also i think that The Mesa Canyon isnt that bad, its basically, you go to there for 2 or 3 quests and never come back again and probably forget that it exists
I honestly think that Skiens Island benefits from being in the ocean. Let’s paint a scenario; you’ve just finished with the ice nations quest and had such a forgettable experience that your dopamine-deprived brain automatically puts down a boat and sail anywhere, as long as it’s away from the ice islands. Your mind suddenly snaps back to reality when you see razor sharp, jagged, teeth-like rocks jutting out from the jaws of the vast blue, much like the beasts from the stories told by Seaskipper. Alarm bells almost deafening, screaming to turn away from the danger that lies ahead, but you press on, too content starved from the heaping pile of trash that was the ice islands. A formidable behemoth of a fortress emerges into your field of view, “what’s it doing all the way out here in the middle of nowhere?” You ponder. An entire island dedicated to a run down castle. Surely it must be hiding something. And that is just first impressions, so good location.
I'm not saying Skiens island should be on land, it's just a flaw with Wynncrafts ocean I have: I'm sure over half the Wynncraft players don't explore all that much, they mostly do the quests and that's it. These players will not go out of their way to explore the ocean, one of the most boring areas in the game, that require waiting one minute doing nothing on the seaskipper, or rowing minutes on end on a boat. That doesn't mean the ocean can't have interesting spots like Skiens Island, it's just because of its position the ocean, over half of the Wynncraft playerbase will be missing out on exciting adventure. So Skiens Island being an island in the ocean is perfectly fine, I wouldn't want it to be any other way, it's just that the major ocean region is fundamentally flawed on how it presents exploration, and how it is used for quest (mainly stupid fetch quests)

One thing I don't get about this list is why is Maro Peaks placed last with one of the arguments being that it's too confusing and you get lost there. (and the placement for Maro Peaks is 100% justified) but then you put Sky Islands and COTL not only in top 10 but top 5. For me both locations possess very similar "qualities" if you can call it that; to Maro Peaks, and I wouldn't put either of those locations in the top 20, though still above Maro Peaks. I despised Sky Islands first time I got there, same with COTL and I still dislike both to this day, incredibly confusing. (and I'm playing Wynn since 2014) edit: And I mean you can argue that both of those locations are meant to be kinda confusing I mean COTL is literally called Canyon of the Lost but then you can argue the same way for Maro Peaks.
The argument for the annoying navigation for Maro peaks was just one out of many arguments: It's ugly, the climbing helmet sucks, mobs have push and pull spells etc. COTL and Sky Island are very pretty areas, the polar opposite of Maro Peaks. Loud incorrect buzzer(crumbling reality breaking space themed cathedral is better than grassy cave, your opinion is objectively incorrect according to my absolutely correct opinion) (Jk ofc, but I will provide more reasons here) It does so much more with the time concept of the place destabilising than just anthro dinosaurs with zero lore and which are never brought up again. Has an aesthetic which isnt present anywhere else in the game(cough cough lost sancuary just being a weird mix of generic grass and wood with lava thrown in) Actaully connects with greater lore of the area and the game as a whole(olm and time valley) Has much cooler enemies(the enemies slowly breaking down and having unique variants for each stage of breakdown is much cooler than dinosaur skins. Has a actaully functioning boss that isnt just run around and hope for rng creeper spawns Is replayable(multiple different variants of rooms based on order completion) Establishes a future lore point, studying the corrupt was just theorick but if he was boring(bro literally just does what theorick does but boring, its not original nor interesting)

You must be a mage or smth if you think canon of the lost is a good location. That place gives me shit cancer every time I have to navigate it as warrior
Well, I played every lass to 105 at least once, Canyon or warrior can be annoying, but with a good horse and knowing where you going it isn't that bad :D
I think the mushroom area near deltas is called black road. BTW I love the review.
I thought Black Road was just the road to Ternaves xD
@@AetTheFurryboth are called the black road
I like the video idea but there id just so much to disagree with (which is fine of course)
... but man, you put skiens island higher on the list than Molten Heights 😂
You could say that Molten Height is HOT GARBAGE...get it?...
in my opinion, 1. Nesaak(Icy steps), 2. Realm of Light, 3. Sky Islands.
Some boss tracks are fire though too :)
@@AetTheFurry absolutely! i love the orange wybel soundtrack, icy burrows, the orphion soundtrack.
I think quest soundtracks are super underrated as well. Tale of the century is just amazing.
@@yy8erig915 I personally love Qira boss soundtrack and ToA, also Lexdale soundtrack is super underrated too
@@AetTheFurry imo ToA is a bit repetitive as a song, but lexdale is wonderful! completely forgot about those niche level specific regions
i hate maro peaks enough that i spent 2 hour last month farming baab for his wool to ensure ima never have to come back here for it. i also have 3 stacks of eye jewels.
Same, I did the same thing!
Maro Peaks needs a rework...
Guys.. i think he might hate elevators
LITTLE WOOD TOP LETS GOO
Elevators arent bad, they are bad when they're locked behind a quest...
You can enter the rymek mesa from the abandoned mines
It still has very awkward navigation xD
Can I ask what mods are you using? Mainly that minimap that looks amazing. Thx
The Minimap is part of the Wynntils Mod, it's pretty much a must have when playing Wynncraft xD
i have watched this 3 times... am i about to watch again? fuck yeah. I dont agred with 2/3th of these rankings why am i having fun lmao
Watchtime goes stonks xD
They could make Maro Peaks better (slightly) by having the Climbing Helmet be a Charm instead of a Quest Item. We all know the stats aren't being used anyway. Nobody is wearing the Helmet for its stats.
It would even go a long way if there was an ENDERECHEST on Maro Peaks so you don't have to go back to Selchar if you forgot to bring it
Flagrant Breminglar Slander right here
I didn't say Bremminglar was bad xD
@@AetTheFurry The Savannah, a "Transition region", just look at Breminglar it has so much to offer... there are huts... and crops... all sorts of things
In defense of the Cinfras NPC, hes actually older than the city lol. Doesnt save the quest or region tho
Probably cuz its an anagram of Francis, Salted's IRL name. That begs the question on why they used it on the City as well...
Nice video bro
Thanks :D
21:17 June is National Men's Health Month btw
I get lost in dernel jungle and cotl more than pigman ravines and the mesa. Maro peaks is definitely worst navigable area for sure.
#ReworkMaroPeaks
great vid
thanks :D
we need more wynn rankings
I'll di a City Ranking soon ™
the ocean is so much wasted space every island needs a redesign, more content, more islands, and maybe even an ocean raid or smth
I wish they would Update to 1.18 to make oceans much deeper, also they could add Swimming as a Real Feature. Imagne underwater Exploration in wynncraft!
You pronounce quite a few region areas in rather unique ways, im curious if im pronouncing them wrong or otherwise what the backstory behind it is
It's probably just my trilingual ass messing with the accents in weird ways. Everyone pronounces areas and cities differently in Wynncraft, and no one seems to agree on what they're officially called, so I don't think that you're pronouncing it wrong :D
@@AetTheFurry Awesome sauce. I have hella respect for multilingual ppl, i just thought the way you said almuj was kinda funny haha. I might start saying it that way its kinda fun
@@ThatPigeon00 Almu-ee xD
Its been years since I played wynncraft so it would really help me a lot if you showed where the places were on the map before each place. I believe if you make your content a bit noob/old player friendly you would have more views. You could be the one explaining wynncraft to the new players.
Thanks for the advice, however there is already Olinus10 the WynnGuide who explains the game and makes quest guides etc. I mostly do rant videos about Wynncraft and what could be improved (well, at least planned for later). But using the map more and explaining where these locations are is a pretty good advice , thanks again :)
based opinions but i would switch aldorei and molten heights lol
Yeah, I get it, I knew it was gonna be controversial, Molten Heights is just not very good... But im glad other people like it :D
The death of Lost Sanctuary was so sad..Timelost Sanctum looks so much worse than it
Finaly, someone agrees! :D
Loud incorrect buzzer(crumbling reality breaking space themed cathedral is better than grassy cave, your opinion is objectively incorrect according to my absolutely correct opinion)
(Jk ofc, but I will provide more reasons here)
It does so much more with the time concept of the place destabilising than just anthro dinosaurs with zero lore and which are never brought up again.
Has an aesthetic which isnt present anywhere else in the game(cough cough lost sancuary just being a weird mix of generic grass and wood with lava thrown in)
Actaully connects with greater lore of the area and the game as a whole(olm and time valley)
Has much cooler enemies(the enemies slowly breaking down and having unique variants for each stage of breakdown is much cooler than dinosaur skins.
Has a actaully functioning boss that isnt just run around and hope for rng creeper spawns
Is replayable(multiple different variants of rooms based on order completion)
Establishes a future lore point, studying the corrupt was just theorick but if he was boring(bro literally just does what theorick does but boring, its not original nor interesting)
How do you get those cinematic shots of you flying over the region? Do you use shaders? Looks sick!
The Cinematics are made using Replay Mod, the link is in the description, the shaders are also linked below, they're called Chocapic shaders
canyon my beloved
Finaly someone Who doesn't hate the Canyon xD
the bees stay winning 🔥
Bees on top
Good thing to put that disclaimer
Also this video is gonna get outdated fast lol
Maybe make an Update every couple of Updates xD
@@AetTheFurry I mean its mainly because of rekindled reworking areas, hopefully most updates dont affect things too much
@@Teryte Rekindled will rework Mount Wynn, and minor adjustments to other areas like Detlas Suburbs or Roots of Corruption, but I think there won't be any major area reworked in this update, but I guess we'll have to see lol
@@AetTheFurry They could have some that they are hiding, I definitely think they will update some of the outdated looking areas, but yeah it probably won't change the ranking much unless it changes some of the quests/content in some of the areas
Lost sanctuary didn’t fit in the lore at all which is why they changed it
It always struck me as weird, but the idea of dinosaurs in a time themed region isn't that out of place if you think about it. Sanctum definitely captures the vibe of the region better, but Sanctuary was a overhated dungeon that didn't deserve to get removed like this :(
the roast of wynncraft
I'll cook an entire meal if it means fixing Wynncraft and making it better xD
Idk why I’m here I don’t play wynncraft
Play it, its honestly a great experience! :D
@@AetTheFurry maybe.
house of twain?
It's alright, not really one of my favourites...
based maro peaks hater cringe troms enjoyer (idk why i just really hated that whole area)
Troms jungle is cool, I'll stand by this xD
Jones Betty Wilson Paul Lopez Brenda
I'm not sure...
wynncraft in Ohio 😂
Oh no, your that type of Ohio kid :/
