Those old photos abandoned and forgotten. Makes me misty eyed. As always thank you for the video Scott. Hello to handsome Salem. 💚
Glad you like them!
“That’s the first time I’ve ever seen a band show up.” LOL!!! Me too!! Loved the family photos and the pottery piece. Class of ‘85, yessssss!
So happy you found something to put a smile on your face.
The photo section was just so sweet and a little sad. The old wedding gowns were beautiful and classy.
It makes me a little sad when I see those really old photos just donated to a thrift shop. I have a bad habit of trying to rescue them, especially the old wedding photos. You really found some good stuff today.
Old photos in thrift shops makes me sad too.
I have the same feeling when I see or come across the old photos which, I wish, were in the homes of relatives not strangers. I will confess that I have "adopted" some photos in frames which are on display in my house.
Stellar shopping trip.
Thanks for the outing.
Wow! All those treasures in 1 store! I guess at heart you must be a movie producer because you sure know how to bring out the tear jerker music to go with the old photographs!
Salem “inspecting” the bags was precious.
You found so many things that you loved on this trip! It's a happy dance all the way to the car. I enjoyed seeing all those vintage photos.
Hi Scott! You had a very interesting Goodwill trip in this video. After showing the dirty lavender Cambridge console bowl and before getting to the early Weller Pottery blue vase, you picked up and held what you called a fifties sixties pot. It appeared to be aluminum with black handles and knob.
I thought some viewers may not know what that pot is used for and may want to know about it.
I have an almost-identical pot that I found last year at a local Goodwill. It is also made of aluminum. The one from your Goodwiill appears newer, maybe barely used, with black "modern"-shaped handles and knob. My pot's black handles and knob are thicker and chunkier. The pot base is embossed or stamped with laurel leaves around its circumference. The bottom of the pot is marked "SERVING OVEN A Product of West Bend Aluminum Company DES. PAT NO. D115821. PAT. NO. 2170904". It is basically a dinner roll or bun warmer/steamer. The bottom is fitted with a removable perforated aluminum liner. A knob on center of the lid rotates to open up two small steam vent holes.
I love vintage kitchen utensils, pots, cast iron, canning jars, etc. I also have a small collection of cookbooks and cooking ephemera covering the early 1900s through the 1970s.
Scott, as always, I can hardly wait for your next video. Oh, just one more thing, please say hello to Salem for me. Does he like scratches under his chin or behind his ears, or both?
I love the information on the pot and thank you for sharing! Salem loves his entire head scratched top to bottom back and forth!
Thank you for sharing about the pot! Very interesting!💕
My mom always used her bun warmer for dinners. I got one 48 years ago when I got married and still use it from time to time. It does keep dinner rolls, hot out of the oven, warm for your meal. Of course, someone actually has to cook a meal for the family to enjoy around the table. But that is a whole other subject.
I figured out long after the fact that Salem passed and I wasn’t sure if I should bother with a note after such a gap, but seeing Salem here is so poignant. What a life Salem had! When so many animals out there know only hunger and fear it is worthy of celebration when we give a companion animal a good life. To Salem! A cat life well-lived!
Awww, Salem, he is such a doll!
LOLOL I laughed SO hard when you showed that hair setting set and the creator was bald. HAHA I couldn't stop laughing.
I know right!!!!!
@@oldcuriosityshop265 I love your sense of humor. Ah, the 80's. The things we were subjected to. LOL
I laughed too! Too funny!!😁
Loved the pen holder and McCoy vase. Salem is super cute! 💜
it's such a crying shame when distant relatives declare you and your photos obsolete.
I loved the old wedding photos. So sad that they've reached the end of their family connection.
I feel the same about the old photos; I have "adopted" a few and have given them a "family" to be part of!
Mr. Caruso can only wish he had that big 80s hair, lol! This was a fun video!
Let's watch Flash 💃🕺 Dance. The music and that wild hair 😜
Thank you Scott for the shopping trip. And thank you for the lovely tribute to the people in those old photos😌
Love the old frame but sad about the picture makes you wonder about there family.😊
Green Block Optic. Loved the lavender center bowl.
I love the McCoy vase. I have a similar one with double handles on each side. They are from the McCoy Blossomtime Line from the 1940's. All of the pieces came in yellow or white with applied pink dogwood blooms. Awesome find!!
Thanks for the info!
The old wedding photos were a sad statement in this modern world. Yes, one day our wedding photos will probably be languishing on some junk store shelf! Oh well, here today, gone tomorrow.
Salem would make a pawsome shopping companion....he is already quality control and could pick out the purrrrrrfect items right there on the shelves~ Hugs to both of you from MI
I hope MI is cooler than PA and NJ!
That hair styling bit was hilariously
I not only enjoy the video hauls but also enjoy the comments from your viewers. I am a fan of Miss Jane Marple and got a chuckle out of your possible murder weapon, the crystal ashtray.
I’ve seen this video before but I still laughed out loud when we are introduced to the maker of the MOLECULAR hair setter, Richard Caruso himself!
A TIP!!! Google "actual size ruler"(or something similar) on your phone and you'll find online rulers that you can use when you forget your measuring tape!
Thank you for giving Salem some “air” time! He is a precious cat!! Love and hugs to you and that sweet boy!!🥰🥰
Hi I like pictures of unknown people. Some are nice wall decor.
Yes, Mel, I agree. Maybe 100 years after I’m gone, my old face might be hanging on someone’s wall as fine art! 😍
Fun fact- I curled my hair for my senior high school pictures with those Richard Caruso curlers! It looked FABULOUS😁
Mine did not have the pic with the creator with no hair though....bummer!
Photo please!!!!
I think this is one of your best video’s, funny. 😹👍
What a glorious blue the weller pottery vase had. I love the semi-mat finish that those pieces have, very alluring.
@4:35 One of my own favorite pieces I have gotten in that decor pattern of McCoy so far!
Looking at those family photos abandoned breaks my heart 💔,loved the pen holder BTW ❤️
Very sad to see those photos in a thrift store 😔. I love old pictures. The bridal picture was beautiful.
Hi Scott! I had that Caruso hair styling roller set, They did work nice on my hair back in the early 90’s. I wish I still had mine. Don’t know why I ever got rid of it though. Oh well.
I loved those old photos. I wish you could catch the old feller on video playing with his toys. He says Dad im in this bag trying to sleep, do you mind. LOL
The poor old thing sleeps most of the time but for about 10 min each day he yells at his baby doll and grooms it.
@@oldcuriosityshop265 that's precious
I had that Caruso hairsetter, so I too would go from before and after 😂 oh how I loved the 80's. Glad you found a real McCoy and that Weller vase is so pretty. As for Salem the Supervisor, I believe he approved your hard work today but he said that perhaps next time he would like for you to bring him a snack or two, or a surprise dang!! yup, that's what I saw him tell you. Lol
beautiful old photographs...made me sad...I would have brought a couple of those home with me :---)
Whoa on the Weller Pottery vase!!! Detached Retina as you would say! The vintage pictures are quite beautiful also!
All those old family photos, make me cry.... how could people discard them so easily?
Nice Weller vase .the McCoy I have collected for many years, I have two like the one you found but mine are cream.I enjoy the hunt and collecting it has given me something to think about. Thank you for letting me tag along on the treasure hunt. Your controller is on the job. He needs to check out everything before he gives his stamp of approval. A special gentleman.
Love the Weller vase and the lavender bowl. The gold rimmed glasses would be lovely on holiday tables as you said. Great thrift haul today. The forgotten photographs are so very sad. I guess we all become forgotten one day.
Scott, those Caruso curlers are still sold in Sally's Beauty Supply stores! I bought some recently and they are phenomenal. They definitely haven't changed the packaging since the 80's! LOL
Give my love to Salem. 😻😺😼😽
Good to know!
I loved the portraits. Especially if the couple all dressed up with her wearing the hat and corsage. That blue vase is beautiful. I hope you keep for your enjoyment. At least for awhile. Salem is a cutie! Take care!
We need to get back to “We are the World” and loving each other. Seams everyone loves to hate these days
I remember doing my hair that big hairstyle 😂
Salem is so cute hiding in the bag. I just want to reach out and give him a hug .🤗
It' scary how fast the years went by!
I love when things are grimey, they’re always marked for less, people in the back have no idea.
The pot was a bread warmer, Belks sold them for 50 cents in the sixties. Tip don't put in dishwasher.
Another special delivery from The Old Curiosity Shop today!! Love my Clowns Scott!! TY!! Hugs to you & Salem!! 💕
Glad you like them!
@@oldcuriosityshop265 as always I'm thrilled!
Omg i remember saving my allowance for that molecular hair system 😂
Please go back for those old photos!!! 🙏🙏
Thanks Scott and Salem. Stunning Weller piece.
I love the homemade pumpkin queen on your cover picture. She had delicious eyes. She wasn't an ugly fairy. I am amazed at the McCoy and the Weller. I would have never guessed the Weller. Wellers are usually covered with flowers, foilage, and other forms of nature. Fairies are so much fun, but you only found a pumpkin faire. Such is life. Salem needs a globe bed to keep him entertained. But l bet he still will find a way inside your bags. Salem and you please take care of yourselves! 🌈🌈🌈🌞🌞🌞⭐⭐⭐🌈🌈🌈🌞🌞🌞⭐⭐⭐🌈🌈🌈🌞🌞🌞⭐⭐⭐🌈🌈🌈🌞🌞🌞⭐⭐⭐🌈🌈🌈🌞🌞🌞⭐⭐⭐🌈🌈🌈🌞🌞🌞⭐🌟🌟⛱⛱⛱⛱⛱⛱⛈⛈⛈⛈⛈🌤🌤🌤🌤🌥🌥🌥🌠🌠☁️☁️
Salem is still very active for an older cat. Having a cat is like having an imp in your house.Thank you for highlighting my comment. Let us all hope they find a vaccine for this nasty virus. 🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌤🌤🌤🌤🌤⛱⛱⛱⛱⛱🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞⛱⛱⛱⛱⛱🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🌈🌈🌈🌈
I knew this was gonna be an especially entertaining video when you tossed that chakra-card-thingy back on the shelf, "No, I don't do that", like it had burned your hand! LOL! I laughed so hard I nearly spit my coffee! The old photos were awesome yet somehow sad but I could peruse old photos like that for hours. And I could identify almost every single artist on the "We Are The World" album. Has it really been that long ago? *sigh* (Yes, I give away my age. lol) Thanks for another great video and a good chuckle to start my day off, Scott!
LOL A band show up!
Love the McCoy vase!
Finding a hair on something makes me ill!
What is it with those, I-want-to-eat-your-soul ceramic pieces? I have to stop watching your videos at bedtime.
That wedding photo of the bride and groom! Now I'm all melancholy.
I remember my big permed hair. I really could rock a side ponytail with those curls.
Salem is fabulous. He does great work!
And yes, I watch the video and pause it to make comments as I watch. 🤓 Another fun one, Scott. 💛
Love the frames of the old photos! I hope someday, I’m not sitting in a thrift store😚
Awesome haul and love the lavender bowl. We Are the World book was a serious flashback. So many singers aren't here anymore. Why toss out family pictures dated in the1900's or earlier? Loss Genealogy... Who, What, Where and When doesn't matter to some. GREAT VIDEO AND GREAT CONTENT. THUMBS-UP ALWAYS!!!!!!
Love the Weller, and the old photos! Hi Salem!
The little cherub pen holder is A&M Leatherlines, about $20 or so. Love how you cherry pick this store!
That’s so sad to see those old family photos without family to care for and appreciate 😢
LMAO at the 1985 show!!!!!
😂😂😂thats the first time I've ever seen a band show up(in the nativity)Mary wouldn't be very chuffed
Thank for the shopping alone trip Scot 😊😉
I still use the Caruso steam rollers😂🤣
You go with your BIG hair!!!!!
Old Curiosity Shop I wish. My hair is so fine and now thinner than it used to be the only way I can get anybody in it. They still sell them at beauty supply places because my old one broke and I was able to find a new one I was surprised.
Show Stopper !!! Wedding pictures. I would have bought the one with the floor length gown with her gorgeous bouquet and sent it to my old boss for the floral consultation corner! Loved this video so ! I want to curl up in a shopping bag with him. 🥰
Salem takes over shopping bags and blankets!!!!!
elderly poodle That would have been a wonderful idea!
Quality control! Ha ha ha ☺
That 80's hair thing looks familiar. Found that same one at good will last week. I'm like you with finding other people's hair. I stopped swimming in public pools because I kept getting wet hair stuck on my face. Mega yucky.
Ew!
Oh I do hope you bought the beautiful family photographs!!!! And then the 1985 hair thing😂😅😄. Looks like my daughter's hair back then💖. I have started a new collection to give me a"valid reason" to "hunt".....vintage flower pots fromthe 40s and 50s!!!! Loved THIS video!!!!!Looking forward to the "countertop"👵💖🦋
Oh what a sweet collection that will be! So are you collecting pot and planters or just pot? I'm curious!
@@oldcuriosityshop265 little planters and decorative flower pots....but I was a flower child of THE 60s....."PK perfect"😅🏵🌹💐...
I literally laughed out loud when you said, ew, a hair!
I hate finding other peoples hair!
Loved the old photos
Scott, just fyi - if you have a dollar bill in your wallet it is 6 inches long...of course not many folks carry cash anymore. Greetings from a Jersey girl in Seattle. Keep safe!
Beautiful McCoy and a great price. I never find things like that in our Goodwill shops in Ontario Canada.
Janice Daniels I never find pottery like that in our Goodwills or Salvation Army here in New York (lower Hudson Valley area) either. I think they either save them for their auction site or there are people working in the back that know what they are and save them for themselves or others. I’ve been thrifting over 20 years and not seeing the vintage stuff, household or clothing like I used to.
That was funny about the hair on the Pyrex bowl! 😄 Gross! I liked the 1985 segment. I had really big high hair that almost hit the headliner of my boyfriends car! Salem is so cute! 🙂
I enjoy your videos, about two weeks ago I commented on the Florida souvenir tall mug with the water skier on it. And you left me a comment, if you saw it again you would buy it and put it in your shop. Did you find it again? I don't know if you've done this before, but I would enjoy hearing the story of how you got Salem.
I did not see the Florida mug yet but I don't think I've been back to that particular store. And thank you for asking about Salem. I'll have to tell the story in a video. I've had him for 19 years!
He's 19 yrs. Old -well loved and spoiled rotten!!! Cats Are wonderful creatures. Thanks for answering my message!!
There is a glass guy at torresdale and knorr in philly if you need custom cut glass.
Ps I'm better now, I got to stop at goodwill in south philly today. And I'm jealous. It was packed.
Ohhhh those family pictures.i get so sad over those being sent to goodwill
Ps I would have gotten those orphaned uranium tea cups !
Thanks for the glass tip!!!!
I remember that guy .
Hi Scott, nice finds today. I was wondering if at 16:19 in the pots section if that was an old bun warmer/steamer? We had them for our Thursday night hamburgers, but ours had a grid in the bottom so the buns wouldn't get soggy
I also take the old photos home with me. Even though I sometimes wonder if they came with the frame 🤔
How are you dealing with this heat we are having? I am stay home in the AC. Sometimes when I watch old movies I get sad because I know if not all but most of the actors are died. Just remind me of that with the old photos. You found really great stuff. I only gone to a Goodwill once recently in the last 130 days.
It is as hot as Hades here in Connecticut and it is getting very exhausting. And no end in sight for the next few days. We are on our 4th heatwave this month! And no rain in my area. The garden is slowly declining. It's bad.
Oh I know Verenda! I'm just 2 hours south of you and this heat has been terrible.
Well the heat waves of July have been pretty fierce this summer. Living in the city means it's usually about 5 or 7 degrees hotter than the surrounding suburbs. I'm thankful for AC, electric fans and ice water!
Hello Salem!
Cool video 👍✌
Nice well I wonder if you’re close to crazy land lady or a blue bus Dave I love those guys
CLL is a few hours away but I run into BBD often at local flea markets.
I know all about those progressive lenses! Lol
I recently purchased the Caruso rollers at the goodwill outlet. I couldn’t pass up the graphics on the box!
You sure took your time examining that ASOTV Richard Caruso hair setting thing. Made in USA, though!
I did!
If you ever start selling T-shirts I think one of them should say “Hmm Hmmm”
Good evening Scott ❤
♥️Salem! 😻In my bag /all good /carry on.
To quote Foghorn Leghorn : “ Go away, boy, you bother me !” 25:11.
Can't believed after months of lockdown watching your channel, you turned me into a domesticated poodle lapdog from a wild beast. I'm ready to become a grandnie. Just saying!!!
I just discovered you. As i do the exact same as you minus the channel. However do follow crazy lamp lady and michelle 101. You are a wonderful addition to my subscription list.
Oh thank you!
Crazy-eyes! Eeek!
Don’t laugh, the hair rollers will sell for good $ on EBay. I don’t mean for you Scott.
So sad to see those ghostly photo and the disco records.
I love you baby more than the Weller!!!
Maybe Mr. Richard Caruso have used his own product to much!!😂😂😂😂😂Lol
I thought the same thing, Maria!
@@oldcuriosityshop265 😂😂😂😂😂
Oh, my, Maria. You and I have the same thoughts!
Oh No. Bethany got in into the liquor cabinet again, couldn't even get her eyeliner straight this time!
Ha ha ha....poor Bethany!
Cats are the bestest quality controllers, of course. Other people's hair - ewwww. I get it occasionally in jewelry hauls. Ewwwww. 👎😨
