*Lures looks very realistic even prunked my friends with it.Looks very durable **enjoyable.fishing** recommend sunk very good into the water.Cons: Storage package could be bigger.*
I'm down south and the crappie here follow bait fish to docks and such (wood) in the Fall. I usually use minnows and jigs and limit out often. Good to hear tactics from other parts of the country. Good video and info.
Thanks. I just got back from Lake Hamilton, AR and the fish were very lethargic. We only boated a few using live minnows. It took forever to get them to bite. We had to place the minnow right in front of their face, and even then the bite was soft.
I've caught a couple of your videos this was a very good one. You no your lures and how to use them. Keep them coming. Can always learn a new trick or two.
How do you determine what baitfish your lake has in order to match the hatch? Do you visibly see them, do you just ask local bait shop, cut open stomach of fish you catch? I hear it a lot, and maybe easier than I'm making it out to be, but this has always been a mystery to me how guys could know without netting some. Ideas? By the way, I LOVE your videos. Learning much.
I've been able to see bait swimming throughout different times of the year. Our lakes upnorth are pretty clear, so bait is easy to spot. Casting a net is probably the only other option
Hi I’m a big fan 1. Can I catch crappie in the fall from the bank? Even though I don’t know the depth? Also is the jigging rap good for ice fishing trout, bass and crappie?
You can catch crappie from the bank, just fish near dams or bridges with deeper drop offs close by. The jigging rap is a great lure for ice fishing and will catch a lot of different species
What reel and rod? Good video. What is bait recommendations for 20 acre farm pond. Bass, bream, channel cat and small amount junk fish are species, average depth 5 ft. SC.
My go to rod is either the 7'6" or 8' ACC crappie stix paired with a 1000 size piscifun spinning reel. *link to the rods in the video description * As for bait, the bream and bass would eat most of the lures I showed in this video. I'm not much for targeting catfish, so i cant help you with that.
I hook the swimbait through head. The hook should come out top of the back of the swimbait. Then slide the swimbait up the jighead. this should look the same as if you were to hook a minnow through the mouth. The minnow would sit inline with the hook, and so would the swimbait.
Love your channel. Always have trouble catching in late fall, when surface temps gets to 40-30 degrees or before ice up. I see their sonar marks in the main basin/ledges but just can’t hook up.
thanks for watching, and yes i'm still struggling to hook up with a good number of crappie. Some seem to be shallow (less than 12ft) and some seem to be deep (20+ft). All we can do it keep fishing.
That might be difficult because lakes this far north with less than 12' of water tend to freeze out in the water. (not enough oxygen so the fish die off)
I've got one coming up when this Southern weather cools off a little bit. It's more of a pond than a lake. 11ft at it's deepest point with 7ft average depth. Huge black crappie

You do a fabulous job with the videos thanks so much and keep it up!
Glad you like them!

I plan on making a few trips south to Texas and other states. Hoping to try dock shooting in the winter. Thanks for watching!
Really good video Davis, excellent information on water depths, oxygenation and bait types. Very informative and thanks!!
Thanks!
I'm having to fish ridiculously slow right now to set a hook. Great show

can you do another video on jigging rap?
Yes I can
Thanks for the shout out, good baits for fall. FLC Dennis

What size is that one jig

Great video, again. What part of the country are you fishing?
Thanks. I mostly fish Wisconsin/Minnesota waters.
Great video! Could you do a river crappie fishing video? Just a suggestion. Keep up the great content!
Yes, I have part of one filmed already (just trying to piece some things together). The youtube tournament video i did was on a river system.
Well shoot fire!! You responded, cool and thank you sir!!

Which way should the paddle be slanted on the baits with the paddle tail?
I like to hook the paddle in line with the jig head, so when it moves through the water it looks like a minnow swimming upright.

what color is the jigging rap in video your link is for a different color ?
I used both perch pattern and shad pattern jigging rap. I think the link is a perch pattern jigging rap.

Bubba where have you been
been busy filming, I have a ton of videos to edit. Don't worry i'll get to them.
10,000 fish makes a "death stalker" is a good one too.
Can anyone help me find where I can get the Charlie Brewers sliders mentioned at 6:57, I need this exact pattern “transparent blue sparkle”
i believe these are the color you want amzn.to/2ysLGuF
Flopping Crappie Thank you so much!
@@carlosRamos-qh9if you're welcome
What about when your fishing from the bank
I would you a bobber and minnow or a bobber and a jig. Something that would suspend the bait above bottom as far out as you can cast.
great video there brother.... Got to start fishing those jigging rapala's more love to use them but hate to hang them on my brush piles. $$$$
ya, I don't like fishing them around brush piles at all. Only open water.
When are you going to do a night-time fishing video. Fishing under a light.
It will most likely be in October. But I can only use lights to see on my boat. It is illegal in my state to place lights underwater to attract fish.
also pike will attack there own
How bout a fall crappie show on a lake with less then 12' of water depth, and not much for wood structure
That might be difficult because lakes this far north with less than 12' of water tend to freeze out in the water. (not enough oxygen so the fish die off)
Not totally true I'm from central with and I have a few around that are mud bottoms and very little wood structures like cribs
Well I guess i'd have to travel south because I don't have any lake like that near me.
That's ok I don't have prime waters with good structures, but keep up your videos they are great
I've got one coming up when this Southern weather cools off a little bit. It's more of a pond than a lake. 11ft at it's deepest point with 7ft average depth. Huge black crappie
Show how to detect fish on several sonatas not operate same
well, I would need money to purchase the other sonar units...
Dang your boat is as dirty as mine
haha, ya it definitely needs a good cleaning...maybe when the 30 day challenge is done.
Just like trap, snap, clap, happy, or pappy. Crappie is pronounced the same way.
Not in the midwest
SWEDISH PIMPLE
I will be using that for ice fishing for sure. Thanks!
