MoH could be on its last legs and they may think making the recently announced MoH VR will help. The first CoD was nicknamed "Medal of Honor killer" during development and guess what? CoD eventually nearly killed MoH. In fact, many people thought we wouldn't get a new Medal of Honor after Warfighter (or should I say Doorfighter just to reference the song "Medal of Honor: Doorfighter"?) since it's likely that CoD 4 forced the devs of MoH into making a game that takes places in the modern day. Although CoD 4 isn't the only reason for that. Apparently, the market for WWII games was oversaturated at the time. Now it's games that take place in the future, which does give you more creative freedom for making a game that takes place in a digital version of our universe. You can even use a futuristic setting to make predictions, even if they are unintentional. Like how one of the Deus Ex games unintentionally predicted 911. The devs needed to give us a reason as to why we weren't seeing the twin towers in the game. That reason? They were destroyed by a terrorist attack. Okay, so that's not the real reason, but it's the more entertaining one. The real reason is because there wasn't enough memory left to include the twin towers. Or something like that.
