- Trying more of the chip shops around Porthcawl. This time it is the turn of Chips2Go near the fair on Coney Beach Porthcawl.
Last year we reviewed the fish and chip shops around Porthcawl (the ones open all year). This year we try the chip shops which are open seasonally.
You can find Chips 2 Go near Porthcawl funfair at the bottom of Mackworth Road.
As usual, our personal comments are based on the food as we find it on the day.

The weather has been good although we've left our son at home and we're in Turkey for a week.
Great video as always 👏. Yep had fish and chips from Chips to Go recently, extremely greasy especially the fish it was pretty bad to be honest, I think I will stick with the full time fish and chip shops, all pretty good in Porthcawl really, but you do get more chips in francos I find 😁
Will be there on hold in June so gonna try that chippy
I love the chips from chip 2 go. you went there when it was quiet they had probably been cooked for a while (like I told you better after a few pints ) lol 😆
We will try them again and Mel will try the fish as well. The sausage dunked in curry sauce was nice!

We had chips and Irish curry sauce form chip 2 go earlier after leaving the Hi Tide they tasted fantastic lol

Has the donut man in the fair opened up this year? Last time I spoke to him he was considering retiring? Best donuts ever so I hope he’s still there

The best place for chips
im not keen on these "flying" chippys either but it made me think when did gravy become a side surely its a condiment anyway great video ill be watching a few of these today looking ahead to warmer months cant wait and keep the vids coming as well as the walking ones 👍

Can’t believe eating sausage and chips on the beach and no seagulls lol 😆
There were plenty hovering around. I cut them out of the video. Porthcawl seagulls aren’t as aggressive as some others. St Ives seagulls mug you in the street.
Who doesn’t love chips by the sea? Especially with sausage, jumbo or battered.

In all fairness its the fairground, Hence name chips2go...cone of chips for kid with a sausage you get away with that,i agree with mel tho,fish no way...gutted the best tasting place for a burger is now gone next door...also noticed the menu 2.50 for a bag of chips(seeing the loc) is not that bad.

Hey I had chips from this chippy about 2 weeks ago. They was lovely. The shop next door which sells chicken and chips. They was disgusting. You should try out valley chippys now

Good review Marcus. Those chips didn't look very nice.
At first they tasted OK but they were a bit greasy and hard.
btw the hygiene rating can be misleading ,they will mark you down for all sorts not necessarily something you might think is about hygiene , if the flooring is not exactly what they like to see for eg
Maybe, but when you start working your way down the scale to the 2's and 1's I think it's more than paper work and a quick wipe.
I’ate worse than that.It just depends on how hungry you are or how many pints you’ve had.You look very tanned and your hair looks very white.Looking forward to next video.

Ah the life of a UA-camr. Hey, what the heck is a sneaky sausage. Of course every term that one has never heard of gets search results that point to some sort of mature activities. But I’m assuming is it a brand of sausage? A particular type of sausage? Or is it because it’s shoved in with your french fries/chips did they call it a sneaky sausage? I’m with Mel, play it safe though.
'Sneaky' sausage - just a colloquial term. Having something I know is really bad but tastes good. The sausages are the ones you would get on an English breakfast, unless it's a long one, that's a "jumbo sausage".

aww i thought this was going to be a vid about you getting knocked back by a woman you asked on a date , was going to advise you if your going to Sweep Her Off Her Feet you need to offer her the donuts just the other side of the arcade ,she would be yours in a moment .
