7:22 This post is clearly fake. No German would ever say that we have good trains. We make it a pastime counting how many trains in Germany don't have at least an hour's delay in a year. I hope this year we'll finally be able to count to double digits.

As a German, I would like to point out:
    - Our uiversal healthcare doesn't cover nearly as much as you would like to think. Parents of children with disabilites, for example, must often fight for official support status for years. And oftentimes if you have private insurance (which is forced upon you after achieving a certain amount of income), you get fucked over even harder (happened to my grandfather, you was a DOCTOR!)
    - We are, in fact, very religious in Germany, with the north more leaning towards being protestant, and the south being aggressively catholic
    - I'm sure most Germans would report a reasonable level of patriotism, we just don't outwardly display it as much as Americans do. That is actually not uncommon for a lot of different nations. But if there's a soccer game going on, we will let you know we're German!
    - Again, heavier gun regulations are not uncommon in a lot of different countries. Having said that, it is not that difficult to obtain a hunting license in Germany. I know a dude who regularly grills up fresh bore burges. Fresh, if you catch my drift.
    - While brick houses are a lot sturdier, they also take way longer to build. Seeing how we, unlike many other countries, very rarely experience natural disasters (especially tornados and earthquakes), it actually raises the question of why we still biuld houses that way. In actuality, America and Germany should probably switch house-building styles.
    - As others have already pointed out, you DON'T want trains like Germany.

Germany isn’t disaster free, they are often less visually violent like a tornado, but we also get draughts and floods.

Protection isn’t a valid reason because that’s what the police does and they do it well. Transporting guns is also only unloaded and locked same at home you need a gun safe. Imo very reasonable. You can easily own it for sport and I’d rather lose my property than increase the chance a home invader has a gun.

But concerning the many German comments:
There are still just a hell of a lot of us who also spend much of their time online. We're simply one of the bigger demographics in terms of minutes spent online as a nation (I'm assuming) and many of us speak English.
Also we do nag, complain and correct other people as a national pastime. That might be part of it.

Well, Germany, these United States DID have a National Socialist government in 2017 - 2021, and may have another from 2025 - 2029 (of course that is still short of 12 years). However we have had at least 12 years of International Socialist government (2009 - 2017 & 2021 - 2025) and may have another from 2025 -2029 (but again that is still shorter that the 41 years of the GDR).

There is a German law that says Döner Kebap can only be called like this under specific circumstances. Which is why a whole bunch of Turkish family owned shops now have to call it "Drehfleischspies".

yeah you did. nokia, you did something very wrong. it's called 'pride'. the only thing that could made this more apt was for nokia to be french as well.

In fact, we have very bad trains in germany. Also people in germany are pretty religious (except former eastern germany) to the point, where the church controls things, it isn't supposed to and has its own laws. And sadly patriotism is also everywhere. It is pretty easy to get a gun license too, but the buildings are made of bricks.

As American, we don’t really have cross country trains because the travel would be so freaking long. We’re a huge country and two of our states aren’t even connected anyways. I like trains, a day long train ride from Seattle to Miami or Los Angeles to Boston would be pretty tiring.
