I wake up like 5am and wait at least an hour before coffee, but the medically recommended wait time is 90 minutes so I usually wait that long or longer. You have to clear out the cortisol and other hormones that are increased when you're first waking up from a night of sleep. The human body is seriously so fascinating and hormones like cortisol, insulin, estrogen/testosterone, oxytocin, serotonin, etc, are basically just messengers to our bodies, and if they are out of whack, we're out of whack.
