*Really* wish the Sonic movies had something just like what The Super Mario Bros. Movie had. In fact, why not hire Brian Tyler himself to compose all the Sonic music in the the third installment?
@@jwroot Yeah. The reason why they don’t use Sonic music is because Jeff said in the Director’s commentary for Sonic 2 “it won’t fit the orchestra”. The Mario movie disproves this statement and shows that videogame music and be turned into orchestra. However, I think some Sonic music is held back due to copyright issues and licensing. Hopefully for the 3rd movie, we get a lot more videogame music!
@ARadomSonicTuber hopefully that could happen because I'm someone that really doesn't mind or Have a single issue with license music in movies especially with the Sonic Movies since I really love them. And I think it would be really awesome if they got Crush 40 you know Johnny Gioeli and Jun Senoue and I recently saw them at The Sonic Symphony in Los Angeles inside the Dobly Theater and man on man they literally Crushed the Hell out of that stage.
Honestly, both "Mario & Sonic London Olympic Games 2012 Main Theme" and "Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Main Theme" fits perfectly fine with this scene. Both make the last part epic by how it ends
Slider, the Olympic themes and the Smash themes fit surprisingly well. My favorites are between Slider and Smash 4 Battlefield. The Vocal Pauline songs are pretty great too!
Honestly, 12:34 has to be my favorite (up until the final lap, where it isn't intense enough-and would work really well if it switched to 16:48 for that last part!)
@@RyanDaly I have several questions, revolving the Sonic Movie 2 scenes: 1. Will you provide a no-music variant of the "Sonic meets Knuckles" scene that ends on Knuckles pinning Sonic to a tree? 2. Will you provide a no-music variant of the "Sonic in Labyrinth" scene that begins with Sonic sliding down the water slide, like in your music edit?
Suddenly i don't feel bad for accidentally making Mario lose a life in the games with ill-timed jumps. Also that cheep cheep slapping him gets funnier every time to me
The Mario and Sonic Olympic Games themes work so much better for this scene than they should. Sega does what Nintendon't, I guess. Great timing and editing on all of these! (I know Illumination did the film, but couldn't resist the joke).
There was supposed to be an OST in the Training Montage Scene where Brian Tyler composed *1-1 World* (Or as I like to call it, Mario's Theme) but the Illumination executives came in and denied it by replacing Holding Out for a Hero in the final cut. It's available on UA-cam btw just saying, probably should've put that in last place, Ryan.🤷
Fun Fact, it's been confirmed the licensed music was intended first. Brian Tyler's music was written for consideration of replacement, but the Illumination execs chose which scenes should retain licensed music and which could be replaced with original score. The catch being, the movie simply didn't have any vocal music, and they needed to strike a balance.
This is pretty cool. Also, thank you so much for the MEGA file. I'm gonna use it for my fan-cut of the movie with the unused score (I'll credit you). Thank you! :)
I think Throwback Galaxy / Bob-Omb Battlefield fit perfectly, though that could also work for the earlier platforming scene in Brooklyn I feel like Jump Up Superstar or Break Free ought to be kept for a truly triumphant moment though, not a struggle ending in a gag
I need to hear the final battle with Bowser with actual Bowser battle themes from the games. I'm shocked and kind of annoyed that we didn't get that in the actual movie.
What about We are born to play? That song would be fitting considering that Mario is trying to be the platforming hero that he’s suppose to be as seen in the trailer.
Great work! Noticed your mega links for this and the other video don't seem to be working. Is that due to Nintendo and/or Illumination's copyright for it or something else?
Looked into this. Turns out it's a UA-cam thing. I have to verify that I'm a human in order to have clickable links in the description. You did a great job dude keep it going 😊 7:33 this part gets hard 🔥
Yeah! Do the Mario!
That's GREAT!
You said Sames instead of games for Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games
The slide and throwback galaxy theme just works for me
Reminds me of the old youtube days like mario castle calamity
Damn they were the old UA-cam days? I was a kid when I watched them. 👴🏼
16:48 the best one. the timing for every part is perfect
I stg I tell you that there is sm4sh main theme music in this but they call me crazy

I love how Mario runs into the traps in sync with the slider music at 3:01
Slider is top comedy.
The timing of the jump sound during "Jump up, Superstar" Was way too perfect.

Yep. But we all know that Brian Tyler's composition of World 1-1 is AMAZING and should've been in the movie.
Your right about your third pick, the Tempo of the Violins is perfectly matched to each time Mario gets owned by the gauntlet.
I also like how in the part where Pauline sings “smash through the blocks” Mario smashes a brick block.

Funny enough the Mario and Sonic 2012 one fits so well

This is honestly better than using Holding Out for a Hero. Do one with the Super Mario Bros. Wonder Athletic theme.

The Olympic Games opening themes fit so well it's downright criminal!
most of the songs chosen were very fitting, but if I had to pick my top 3

SM64 Slider 02:40
SM4SH Theme 16:48
