Happy Valley pretty much sums it up, this place is awesome and the trails look great. Nice riding and as always a great video mate. Keep up the good work and have fun. Ride on
Thanks mate. The Happy Valley name actually refers to the drug problems in the valley (there's a really great TV drama series of that name based there) but it should refer to the smiles on the riders faces. We don't go to Hebden nearly as often as we should!
@@Stopadoodledoo Thank you for this information, very exciting but also tragic when you hear the real reason. I like the idea of happy bikers better though;-) Ride on and have fun
Yep, that's the one. Basically, instead of going down the concrete track, head up the muddy track to the right. There's probably loads more up there (and above it) and would have loved to explore but, well, you saw the reaction from Christian when I suggested it 😂
Great video mate, we can also confirm the seed sown in this one certainly flourished at Wharncliffe 👍🏼👍🏼 top tip, so simple yet so far really effective. That second decent though!!! What the actually chuff, think I cried a little bit 🤣 Great getting down that steep roll as well, chuffed with that. Maybe not glamorous first try though haha
How long have I been telling you to look a long way ahead? 😂 As for the second trail, I really enjoyed it (in a 'oh Christ' kind of way). It definitely concentrated the mind 😂
That really is a great run! Love it! No sure what you did to Christian on this ride but my god did he take everything on board. 👍 That alternative end to Ernie's looked crazy town!
He stopped staring five inches in front of his front tyre 😃 Yeah, the alternative end to Ernie's was definitely a challenging trail; way steeper than it looks on camera but still just about rideable. Sort of.
Thanks mate, appreciate that. I've seen your video of you riding down Ernie's at speed (think I referenced it in passing on the last video I did around Hebden). No way am I going that fast down there 😃
@@Stopadoodledoo tbh mate it's not rideable like that anymore, it's super rough now. Needs a sort out again. No worries man, but be warned its pretty bloody steep! Crosses the path and continues down to the bottom.
@@RideBikes_Walkplaces I think I know the one you mean, tried it once and it didn’t go too well 😂 Think it was built by a lad who has featured in a couple of recent Tommy C videos, an incredibly talented rider 👍
@@Stopadoodledoo nah this one was built by a young lad, not shag! It ends in some berms. Some steep rock slabs in the mid section. It's pretty sweet! Shags stuff is bonkers, only done a few of his and bricked it! I rode Kamikaze with caffrey and it shit me daft hahah

You know what mate, when I realised I would be the only one on a normally aspirated bike, I was a bit nervous but I just set the pace all day up the hills. Luckily, I was having one of those days where I felt quite fit and I think they'll tell you that they were pretty knackered by the end of it. eBikes/non-eBikes, doesn't really matter at all. As you yourself know, it's about being out with mates that's important 👍
@@Stopadoodledoo black mountains tomorrow on uplift. Bike park Wales Thursday ride up. Dyfi Friday. Do I need a ebike 😂 probably not but i don't think I can go back
I always thought riding a mountain bike on a public footpath was not allowed and one had to stick to bridleways and designated bike trails or forest tracks? There seemed to be a fair few folk on some of the tracks you were bombing down. Are you not concerned you'll hit someone or run over a dog? I do a lot of mountain biking myself but not the hairy downhill stuff generally. More gravel with the odd rough trail. I'd crap myself if I came down a steep track and met a walker ten yards away!
You are right, you aren’t permitted to ride on footpaths but being practical, you can see further ahead in the last trail (footpath) than you can on the first and third (bridleways). Regardless of the trail classification, which was decided using criteria which I guess never factored in bikes a long time ago, I do ride at a speed where I know I can stop if I unexpectedly meet someone and if I can’t see far enough ahead (e.g. going into a blind corner) then I slow down even more. Hopefully the video shows that I am polite and courteous to other trail users and give way to them if they are unable to or have not already stepped aside.
