i had this cover played at my tia Greg's funeral two years ago because she had dementia in her last years with us. I was going to sing this to my grandma on her death bed. i spent a week straight by her side, only leaving to get food and sleep. the one day i had to go into work to keep my job was the day she passed. im singing this to her myself at her funeral. thank you for making this cover. its a more appropriate pace to the song than the movie version. rest in peace grandma.

My 6 year old daughter wanted me to tell you that she loves this song and that she feels you made it on behalf of my late grandma who passed away just 2 months before my daughter was born. I played this for the lady that is my caregiver. She's my caregiver because I have a terminal / chronic illness and since I can't see well. She wasn't the sick one in the hospital I was and we didn't know if I was going to go to heaven soon because I was really sick and wasn't getting better at the time. She had never heard this song before because we would always play Lebanese music on my oud. She used to be a nurse in Lebanon but now she's retired and she is my full-time caregiver. People ask her why don't you just completely retire and she always says that he needs a caregiver more than you know and I want to be that person for him. What I played this song and sang it to her she knew exactly what I was getting at. The nurse that we knew really well instantly knew why I was playing it for her and as she was giving me my IV meds she started to tear up as well as my caregiver. When I finished my caregiver choked up and gave me probably the biggest hug ever well in tears and she said " habibi how could I ever forget you? You are probibly one of if not the best person I have ever met and had the privilege to take care of. When i hear an oud being played in our church or in our community you will be the first person I will think of" one line that stuck out the her in the song was ill hold you in my arms again or something like that. And something that she did for me but I will never forget was this. The nurse that we knew well that was taking care of me at the time helped her get setup and my caregiver held me in her arms. While I was laying in her arms. She put a little bit of holy oil from Lebanon on my forehead and put a little soil from one of our Saints tombs. On my tongue because we believe that those devotions can bring about miracles. And she didn't just want to heal me physically. She wanted me to have what she calls my spiritual meds as well.
