I've heard similar. A tree branch hit it and damaged it beyond repair. Coincidentally, I was also at Roaring Camp on one of the first days that 2641 was sporting the new K5LA and it sounded good and in tune then. It is much worse now.
From the story I heard, that RS3L got knocked off by a low-branch, and was replaced by the K5LA it has today. And apparently, that K5LA keeps having tuning problems.
Amazing video of Roaring Camp. I have went there a lot, they have great operational Logging Locomotives. 🌟 ⭐️ 🚂

Thank you. It is located in the town of Felton, CA which is a few miles north of the town of Santa Cruz. It's about 30 miles south west from San Jose.
San Jose is where I live.
It's a shame it doesn't still have the rs3l. or better yet, the full width F7 shell. Thanks!
Thanks, lots of fun to watch.
Yeah. I have went to Roaring Camp a lot and Amazing equipment they have.
A young Mick is a better photographer that 85% of the people on UA-cam...nice video...
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Thank you!
i got a cab ride and shop tour with #7 and the roaring camp folk, very friendly

Haha, thank you Luke
Awesome
UPDATE: 2641 now has an RS3L again, but it's 2600s old horn. 2600, on the other hand, has 2641s RS3L. They just need to swap the horns.
My favorite guy there is Tom Shreve, he's the one who gave me a shop tour and a short ride in Sonora. I assume you know Chris?
funny guy to say the least!
Some wonderful old steam locos here. Very enjoyable video. Where is this railroad?
It’s near Felton, California.
Hey Mike did you ever go to the Yreka Western before it closed
