Sing it Miss Neway! I'm a black guy from the southside of Atlanta that heard you do Climb Every Mountain from an old album of The Sound of Music (I checked it out from the Atlanta Public Library in the 70s). That's got to be the best version of that song I've heard. But hey, I'm like 64 now. Let me say it like I feel it: "Sang Patricia, Sang girl!" I wish there was a longer version of the above scene though.
I played the Carnival Boy with him in the last great tour of this magnificent show. He was amazing and although Patricia Neway was not our Nettie, I think she is superb.

Absolutely superb, thank you for this glorious post...thank you Patricia,Rogers and Hammerstein, when greatness comes together
Patricia Neway accomplishes a miracle in a very short time. Mother Earth came to comfort and rescued.
Rogers and hammerstein...!!! Thank you Thank you
Only Patricia can sing both this and Mountain so beautifully. She owns these anthems.
A Glorious voice. I have always loved her.
Great performance by the late Ms. Neway.
I only heard her on a LP. She is superb. I must have seen this production from 1967.
Wow !!!
wow !
No no why would you send her upstage so I can’t see Patricia Neway. NO NO. Kill the director!!! Magnificent singer singing a gorgeous song.
It seems the director took the "walk on, walk on" lyric a bit too literally.
Even upstage and with her back turned, Patricia Neway is one great singer/actress. Brava !
Ha ha. I like that
a great clip - any chance you will post more from this tv special?

I truly miss real singing, not this snarky artificial crap you hear today.
Neway doesn't even start singing until 4:27.
But it is well worth the wait :-)
Death and Transfiguration aptly dramatized.
Believable beyond the pale hope television offers today.
December 30/31 Maggie sundby is in carousel
