Poet wants the God to forgive all his sins that he had done in any manner whatsoever making him understand that to err is human.
He deseprately wants the God to lead him to the path of heaven.He fears that he would be left in between the path of heaven and hell. He wants to go to heaven.

The poet has committed a lot of sins through out his life . There is a feeling of repentence in the poem . He is aware that he cant get place in heaven if the God will not forgive him for the sins he has done . Thus , he pleas to god to forgive him . He has a fear of not getting place in heaven when he dies . He is scared of being stuck on the shore between heaven and hell .
