I’m in the house by 8:30-9 pm. If I get a phone call/text anytime after that to go somewhere, it’s a no go! That friend who is adamant on trying to get you to go somewhere, could be leading you to your death. Nothing good happens late at night. Those are the demon hours. if you’re at home comfortable, stay there until the morning!

Problems began when McIntyre, 25, stole a woman's cell phone at gunpoint during the party. McIntyre and the woman were on the second floor when the phone was stolen.
Odobo, 24, attempted to intervene and get the cell phone back, and was shot to death by McIntyre. After Odobo was shot, McIntyre stood on the second-floor landing, shooting at people on the first floor who were fleeing.
King, 24, and Rice, 24, were struck and killed by the gunfire.
King and Rice died in the kitchen, never able to escape the home after being shot.
Some of the people who fled from the home were armed and fired back toward the house.
McIntyre was shot in the left forearm
Responding deputies found McIntyre, wounded in the house .
McIntyre knew people at the party, and his relationship with some of them dates back to grade school.

This happened to me but it was a different scenario. It was July 4th and my 2nd time hanging out with this guy I met. I was 17, him 21. We smoke and drank a bottle in a parking lot outside the car on a hill that faced the river where the fireworks were. When they started I saw him panic. First I thought he was feeling buzzed but then I heard the gunshots between the fireworks. Someone was shooting at us from behind where it was a pitch black dark hill. We immediately ran in opposite directions, then I turned around and followed behind him (the one they really wanted) we ran a few blocks and parted ways. It was all over a phone. A guy demanded to see a girls phone, she didnt want to hand it over, another guy intervened to help the girl. The guy demanding the phone pulled out a gun and shot the guy. Girl took off down the stairs, guy tried to shoot her then shoots the young couple..the shooters name was McIntyre and the first guy shot his name was Michael Obodo. It was his birthday.
Nicholas King and Eliesha Rice were there to celebrate Mr Obodo's birthday.
Did he get arrested yet? Who were the drivers of the two cars hat went speeding on the block passed the surveillance cameras suspect or bystanders at the party fleeing the scene.

You don't have to be in a short term rental for this to happen. This can happen at a club, house, park anywhere. They encountered bad people and bad people come in all genders, races and ethnicities.

My mother and her friend were chased, shot at, and ran off the road, one night after going out.. the car was totaled so my mom told her friend we have to get and run.. We can't wait on them to get to us, her friend refused to leave the car, my Mom left her and found a opening under someone’s house in the pitch black…they pistol-whipped her friend but she was ok. It's really sad to say that I'm teaching my grandkids what to do if there is a shooting at their school. At a park at the mall. I also gave them a spot I'll be there waiting for them if I can't get in the school. This is so sad. God, please cover this family.❤🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🌻
It really is. I've been teaching mine this also. They are so young they barely understand.
My children were kids in the 80's and 90's. I taught them to always be aware of their surroundings. I had them all take gun safety, CPR/first aide, join groups like boy scouts( with me as one of the scout leaders). I taught them to respect people who deserve it, and to stay away from people who were headed for trouble. I taught them about addiction, drugs, gangs, having sex too early, birth control ( only when they were ready), etc. I talk to them openly and honestly. They can talk to me about anything. I will listen and respond responsibly. I was raised in Southern California. I was a street kid. I hated my single alcoholic, chain smoking, abusive narcissistic single mother of 5. I did not want to be at "home". I taught myself how to oarent. I raised my children with love, affection, encouragement, support and open mindedness. My oldest son's dad was at a biker party. Drinking was prevalent. He had just turned 23. He got into an argument and the guy stabbed him. He took out his gun and shot the guy. They both died. These types of parties are bad news. Condolences to these victims families.

But crime and gang activities are out of control all over H-town. They fight in the "hoods", but target the citizens no matter where you live. NEVER use ATM's or flash cash in public. They'll take anything that looks like it's valuable as long as there's nobody else around and they can make an easy getaway. Car jacking is rampant. You have to be aware of your surroundings at all times. But it's also possible to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. They don't like witnesses so they'll take them out too. Just be careful and know that you're on your own mostly. HPD is stretched to it's limits and the bad guys know it.

@1section8kid I can definitely see it being a ex of either party. But another thing I know for sure. Crimes like this happening in Katy, Cypress, or Woodlands are usually about drugs. The crime rate is not high in those areas versus low end spots. And it gotta be drug related.

There are good and bad people in all races, and it helps nothing to keep pointing fingers at who is worse. Nobody deserves this, not matter race and background you come from. My brother has a second home which is a beach house near Galveston, Tx. He rents it out For weekends or several days at a time. He's completely redone the whole place it's very very nice and very reasonably priced. Not once as he had any problems with any guests. I don't know I guess he's been very blessed to not have had problems.
Short term rentals in residential neighborhoods needs to be outlawed.

If I have this straight: shots were already being fired at 2:13 AM and then 4 minutes later at 2:20 AM *_even more gunfire_* pops off and that truck flies by. Something rang off involving gunfire at the party causing this girl to run and then it seems like someone did an additional drive-by. That’s interesting to me and just my 2¢ but lord have mercy, I hope HPD (or whoever in Katy) doesn’t fumble this one! This is too sad.
