When I was making my aggressive blue EDH decks because I wanted to play coastal piracy effects, I started adding in extra turn spells into those decks. Why? Because extra turns means extra combats! :D As the people as my LGS said, "Why do you play Boros in every color??"
Fury of the Horde is a great fit in Greven voltron. With Greven's ability to dig abysmally deep with his combat-sacrifice trigger, finding a Fury of the top usually means that the player you are attacking dies or, if that player is now dead, you take out another one friend.
Love your content, everything pertaining to BOROS I only play botos, so am a big fan of yours! Can’t wait to see your aurelia/combo video!! Keep it up bro!!
Wyleth has a decent synergy with "exile cards from your hand to cast this spell for free" cards, like Fury of the Horde. You just draw a billion cards each time you attack. But he's the type of commander who just gets shot the moment he hits the board, often by random stuff. You can try to protect him, but that makes you slower, and you *need* the card draw to even hit your land drops. My Akiri deck feels way more resilient.
Best deck with moraug is Klauth. Attack with creatures and make 20 mana main phase two cast genesis wave for 17 hitting 6 lands and a moraug for 6 extra combat steps....maybe more with fetch lands. I play Moraug in all my red decks. Card is insanely undervalue right now for a mythic.
Considering white is seen splashrd in some of these extra combat spell, why have we not yet seen a white extra combat spell? Or a white fight spell? Kinda seems like a very white thing to do
White enchantment, 3WWW: at the beginning of your first post combat main phase, if you gained life this turn, untap all creatures that attacked this turn and there is an additional combat... Sounds white enough to me. Could make it X+ life needed or tweak other things to make it 5 mana if they want to aggressively cost it.
@@jacobjensen7704 Haha very true, but it needs one white theme to make it white and lifegain + enchantment based was just what I picked. Could easily be tied to an equipment like said in the video or something else.
throat wolf looks like a fun card to me. probably gonna buy it soon if my playgroup accepts playtest cards. throat wolf was a super old hoax card which was rumored since 1994. that's why its wording is so bad. the gatherer says: "Throat Wolf’s last ability reads like it’s pointless. Only Throat Wolf can attack, but it can’t attack, so nothing can attack. Rather than assume the text is pointless, this ability should be played as though it read “After each opponent’s first combat phase on each turn, you have a combat phase. Only Throat Wolf can attack during that combat phase.” " personally i really like response / resurgence. not because i think it is better than the other cards but more because i picked up a few of them and actually play them 😁
Lightning runner, combat celebrant, pirate guy, those guys in Brudiclad are my favorite. Doesnt need to go infinite but getting the extra damage + triggers for Brud. Edit did i miss or did you forget the pirate guy?
Yeah I can see that being pretty good there. Somehow I missed the pirate guy, I wonder if he has different wording that I didnt catch in the gatherer search.
I have Lightning Runner in my Brudiclad deck because I feel like Combat Celebrant is a little too easy in that deck. Runner takes some setup to actually go infinite.
The only flaw I can find with Aurelia is that she’s too good that people on the up and up will try to prevent me from attacking with her. Best extra combat spell
Somehow I missed port razor. It must have different wording that didn’t get picked up by my gatherer search. I’d give a B tier tho. Solid, but it’s not waves of aggression.
Interesting video. I play Aurelia but I'm not really into extra combats besides that, I'm more of a 'doublestriker'. Like I said, Aurelia + Gisela + True conviction is one of the coolest wincons I play.
Yeah that is a super sweet win con...ive done it a few times. If Aurelia is in your command zone, you dont always need additional extra combats in the deck she covers it for you. In non Aurelia decks I generally like to have at least 2, but 3 if im being real aggressive.
Rewriting the Comp Rules to make Triple Strike work: fairly easy. Rewriting MTGO and Arena to make Triple Strike work: probably a huge headache that breaks lots of things.
@@CommanderReplay spoken like someone who's never had to modify ancient software. Arena is probably relatively easy to update, but MTGO? It's possible there's nobody left at the company that knows how the combat damage step was programmed to begin with 😅.
I have one in my "Untap Krenko as much a possible" deck. It's mostly full of Treachery/Act of Treason type cards but Seize can also be nice, particularly assuming I can give the tokens haste.
I mean anything where the plan is 1 big creature: Aurelia, Bruenor, Syr Gwyn, basically any of the boros voltron commanders, I would guess Neheb, and probably numerous others.
@@CommanderReplay I apparently didn't realize Aggravated Assault had gotten as expensive as it is. I'm pretty sure I picked one up for like $6 a couple years ago and I was thinking it was still around $10-$20 at most...
I like your content, but your level of edh is completely different than what my playgroup plays. You aren't quite cedh, but highly optimized. So this list doesn't really pertain to me lol. Combo's/tutor targets/sword of ff etc. I do appreciate you listing all of them though.
The irony here is that Ive mostly been getting crushed by people faster than me lately. Although I havent really been playing my stronger decks. But yes your setting really dictates everything. A few people have mentioned that Savage Beating Combos with Spellbinder which is cool but in like 80% of EDH thats just gonna be too slow and fragile to really make work. Setting is everything.
Looks like you missed Port Razer, which also goes infinite with Rionya if you can get through with a 4/4.

Nice breakdown! As a new edh player, I appreciate that you explain your reasoning very well. Thanks :)
Glad you liked it! What kind of guitar are you into btw?
Breath of Fury + locust god + any costal piracy effect is a hell of a combo

6:02 - Don't forget my Locust God deck
Love a few of these with Feather.
Especially Seize the Day because it targets so Feather gets it back to your hand. Even better if Feather Voltron is the deck idea

savage beating has a infinite combo: the other part is an equipment named spellbinder
Pj, you missed Port Razer lol love your channel
I am so happy I pack pulled an invocation aggregated assault
Temporal Mages: "Allow me to reintroduce myself."
Considering white is seen splashrd in some of these extra combat spell, why have we not yet seen a white extra combat spell? Or a white fight spell? Kinda seems like a very white thing to do
Seize the day is absurd in Xenagos.

Yuck, please don't tie it to life gain haha. I'm sick of every white card needing to be life gain haha.

Lol yeah that does happen. I find myself running more and more protection spells because of that these days. If she sticks, shes gonna do things.
My favorite kind of extra combat is extra turns. Ugins nexus does the job just fine.
Port Razer? Another one thats really good in Riona, and can get you multiple combats in a single turn if you play it right.
Port Razer is my combo in Rionya. She absolutely destroys the opposition. Especially if you can get 3+ copies

Very soon. Ive got 8 decks left to play... I want to play them all first.

Yes it does. I didnt mention that one, also Nature's...something or other from Kamigawa also combos with those as well.

"fun little video": 40mins long. Sounds about right :P
I was trying so hard to keep it to 20. The filming session was 90 minutes long. Getting to 40 wasnt awful.
You don't need extra combats if you just one hit everyone :P
Sure you do, then you can one hit multiple someones in a turn.
WOTC IF UR WATCHING PLZ PRINT MONO WHITE EXTRA COMBAT SPELLS
Karlach?
This video is older than Karlach. Karlach is great though, definitely a top pick for me.
