    Would be nice to see you getting into and out of the kayak...can you push out using the side walls.?

    • @CosmoWeems

      Yes I can/ I weight 160 pounds. I do not know how much weight they can support. I rest my hands on top of the sides of the deck and lift my butt that way. Thank You for watching. Check my other videos ua-cam.com/users/cosmoweemsvideos

    Cosmo, have you used the Advanced Elements Airvolution2 or AdvancedFrame Convertible inflatable kayaks? I'm wondering how those compare to the Oru Haven

    • @CosmoWeems
      @CosmoWeems  3 роки тому +1

      I have not paddled one. Owners say they are the best. Inflatable. At that price.

    What’s the compromise you make when you buy this tandem kayak? i really just want something easy to carry, for family to make quick trips…don’t care about speed and etc…that some pros might care for

    • @CosmoWeems
      @CosmoWeems  2 роки тому +1

      I think I outlined that pretty well. You only get a folding kayak when you need a boat you can fold. Sort of like a folding bicycle vs a standard. I think this is one of the better folding designs. =Cosmo

    greetings from Portland, OR! I enjoy your videos so much Cosmo, you seriously live the ideal life I imagine for myself when I retire in the future! thanks for sharing your unbiased reviews on the oru kayaks. I have a Haven too but I've never taken it out by myself since it feels too heavy to carry it from car to the dock for one person usually, do you feel you have this trouble as well? I dont find the assembling step by myself too difficult tho, but this kayak is a bit bulky to carry around for one person so I do eventually want to buy a true single seater one.

    • @CosmoWeems
      @CosmoWeems  4 роки тому +2

      Its a compromise. You can use a 2 person as a one person. Yes its heavy but its a 2 person kayak! I like it and can carry it. depends on your needs and proprieties Thanks for watching =Cosmo!

    Did you say $2,000.00 for the Haven? I tried ordering from Oru but they don't have one in stock yet,they said september will be the earliest.Thank you, from Southern California here.

    • @CosmoWeems

      Yes it was $2200 last time I looked. Subtract 10% with the discount in the comments. . September is still kayak weather here in New Jersey! Good luck Thank You for watching. Check my other videos ua-cam.com/users/cosmoweemsvideos

      I have the inlet - very portable. I have a 2 seat Haven and the Coast XT. I love the coast for the type of stuff I like do do like kayak camping. But the inlet is so small I can take it anywhere. A man with one watch always knows what time it is. A man with 2 is never sure. With gear ....the tandem model .

    • @CosmoWeems
      @CosmoWeems  2 роки тому +1

      2 pddlers 2 sets of gear. Maybe. 1 paddler and gear - I would choose the Coast. 1 paddler and a large dog - the paddler will be working hard. I have only toured with the Coast. The boat can probably do it. Its not a responsive boat. Its wide meaning you will have to work hard. Its hard for me to say since I have not done it. Maybe contact Oru. =Cosmo

      @@CosmoWeems A foldable kayak that’s a mix between the Coast XT and the Haven TT? I’m not seeing any…

    • @CosmoWeems
      @CosmoWeems  2 роки тому +1

      You did now specify so I will assume you want a folding boat. Feathercraft (out of business now) made high capacity touring kayaks (skin and frame) that folded. Other than that you will have to do your research. =Cosmo

    • @CosmoWeems
      @CosmoWeems  2 роки тому +1

      Canoes have a huge capacity. The average 14′ canoe can hold 700 pounds of passengers and gear.

    • @Anythingforfreedom
      @Anythingforfreedom 2 роки тому

      @@CosmoWeems That’s ashame about feathercraft. If only the coastXT could handle another 100lbs it would be perfect... thanks for your input.

    Since it is open cabin, no drain valve and you basically sit on the floor, do you get a lot of water inside and get a 'wet butt'?

    • @CosmoWeems
      @CosmoWeems  2 роки тому +1

      Yes. On the positive side you can fold it up and put it in your car trunk. Life is a compromise! 𝕋𝕙𝕒𝕟𝕜 𝕐𝕠𝕦 𝕗𝕠𝕣 𝕨𝕒𝕥𝕔𝕙𝕚𝕟𝕘! ✅ Check my other videos ua-cam.com/users/cosmoweemsvideos
