Over 24 years on active duty in the Army, I have been repeatedly frustrated by parents who didn't raise successful children and judges who aren't serving and all sorts of other people who think the military is the solution for non-functional adults. Most of them enlist and proceed to just cause us the same problems they caused everyone else before enlisting. Great place for you to fix yourself. But not here to fix you for you or otherwise step in where parents and the rest of society failed. The kicker is when the parents call us upset about their (adult) child's experience. "It's not right what the Army is doing!" But I can't call parents and complain about how they had 18 years and still gave us a garbage trainee.
@@squirrelcar The services have boot-camps, however they are not rehabilitative "Bootcamps". Might be cheaper to put these guys on the dole than to have the military waste money on washout-likely recruits.
@squirrelcar WoW attacking me. I was a single parent with bipolar and sadly my son had to deal with that. My heart breaks that I couldn't get on the right medication. WoW just WoW
@@ABeautfulMessI think they were pontificating more generally about the inadequacy of many young recruits, and helicopter parents expecting the military to "fix" their children. The comment kind of comes off as complaining about your suggestion that the military is good for self growth, so I can see why you'd feel attacked. I don't think they meant for it to be taken personally - it sounds like your son did decide to change himself for the better, which is not the kind of person squirrelcar is frustrated with.
I believe @squirrelcar may have been responding more to Judge Oakley's remarks about taking the defendant down to the recruiting station, rather than attacking you. @ABeautfulMess
Also i am amazed always at how caring and compassionate most of the Judges we watch. I love how they really try to help people. Especially if they see a spark.
I wish I had done something different out of High School. I was that kid basically, putting off college, smoking weed occasionally, laid back. I ended up working in the factory environment my entire life. I wish I could have spoke to that kid about making rational decisions in life and not make the mistakes I did.
You and me both. I wish I made other choices forty years ago. I didn’t want to study when I should have. I’ve done OK nonetheless , but I would’ve preferred to finish life better educated.
Where I live you can earn much more money at a factory job than with a college degree. I wish I didn't waste so much time and money at college and had started working a trade sooner. The grass is always greener so don't get yourself too down
Wow...I've never seen this side of Oakley. I've seen him knock down sovcits, and really liked the way he doesnt take their crap...but watching him take time off the record to try and help this kid with some good fatherly advice gave me a new type of respect for him.
There are so many kids out there who never had Father's in the picture, this might be the first fatherly advice he ever received. Thanks Judge Oakley. 😊
Last one reminded me of my oldest son's friend. Nice kid, liked to party, no ambition. He joins the Air Force, they test him, and realize his IQ is off the charts. Air Force trains the crap out of him which he aces and now has a great career working on systems he's not allowed to discuss.
Missed the live too 🤦♀️ Merry Christmas everyone! First year all of my children will not all be here. DH will only be home awake with us for about 8 hrs. But grandson is old enough to enjoy the hoopla. It’s that stage of life🤷🏼♀️
I started listening to this whilst doing something, I hadn't look at the screen and when I did I was shocked as I expected to see a man in his late 60's early 70's. He has a speech pattern of a much older gent not you person of his age. The second case they young kid does he know how much math is involved with engineering. To join the military in many countries you have to pass a entrance exam and at a high level for officers. Todays military are not desperate for men/women and need higher quality entrants. This is partly due to the equipment they may have to master the usage of and repair under pressure against a time restraint.
Here's the thing about the military, I was in the same place as this kid at 19 and joined the navy. Best thing that happened to me because of ME and what I did with what I was given but soooooo many kids join and become alcoholics, stay entitled and lazy, and only deepen their warped sense of reality. Many young, too young, kids end up ending their own lives from being over worked, under appreciated, and having shit supervisors who literally say things like "stop killing yourselves your f-ing up our schedules, you are all replaceable" (yes actually happened after we lost someone) so again, it's the luck of the draw and also how well someone is able to grow and assimilate because the military is NOT for every struggling teen and does NOT have an easy environment or culture to live in 24/7.
Not putting the bong down means you don't have to face life. You just float through until one day you realize you've got nothing except a well used bong.
Mandarin is fundamentaly diferent to English it is impressive how hard does the interpreter have to work to translate american way of talking. For the record, Anyone realy needs a job, Amazon is always looking for people who havent left them for some reasonable job yet. Even Mc Donalds is posh in comparison. They even have some really nice benefits to offeer for those who lasts with them for longer then normal humans
Yes, poor guy; he mentioned being on an ACT team; that probably means he has chronic serious mental illness (SMI) and is supposed to be receiving assertive community treatment and his treatment team is supposed to be helping him with disability income, housing, substance abuse treatment, transportation to medical visits etc
I don't know what engineering school is like now but Mr. Vick would have lasted one semester at Georgia Tech in the '70s, assuming he managed to get in at all.
This is how all genZ is falling harder than me dropping in a half pipe. Its gonna be a hard few years for them. Us GenX are gonna eat a lot of popcorn and laugh at them. A lot.
First case was so sad... Honestly. The guy shows all the signs of Autism (I know A LOT about this, and while he probably has ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), he MIGHT simply have a form of Intellectual Handicap (or both)), and for such people, Organization, Planning & Time Management are HUUUGE Challenges. He needs support to get his life together, get a professional to help him establish a goal-oriented mindset and put the means to achieve these goals in place.
Bruh-Don’t make any rash decisions about giving up smoking pot right away. Yo- giving up guitar is a huge, huge step so just slow down. Maybe get out of lockup , chill, have a toke or two and maybe- just maybe - you could hold off on giving it up. After all- at least wait till Lent. It’s not that far away and maybe the sale of that guitar and replacing those low paying gigs(DAMN THE CLUB OWNERS!) will lead to something steady at Planet Fitness.
Honestly the last dude i think he is just smoking the wrong kinda weed . He seems to know what he wants but the stuff he's doing isn't motivating enough!!!!! 😂😂
I feel sorry for that kid. his mom is completely incapable of raising him and he's just going to be an idiot forever. I know people that did hard weed and completely screwed their brains. don't believe the nonsense that weed doesn't hurt you. it does when you continually use it like these people do. This kid is a lost cause because his mom can't enforce anything. she can't parent. sad.

Army is the best thing that happened to my son..went from smoken weed and skipping school to Airborne Ranger Instructor..

Try going to New York City or La or Houston or Las Vegas. You won't say that about the judges there!
Mikes words of wisdom for Sunday: “Put the bong down and focus on life a little bit.”
🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣 True words of wisdom!!!!! That's our Mike!! 😂
Oakley remains my favorite judge. Dude lays sov-cits out flat, but he's got a soul. Not sure what that's like, but I hear it works.

Would you have listened, though? I guess someone should try, but people have to come to conclusions on their own.

Merry Christmas everyone!❤🎅🤶🌲🎁
Bless both their hearts. The first guy, oh my.
The second kid needs the miltary to show him a plan, discipline and responsibility
Poor fellow I hope he gets the help and services he deserves.
I love how this judge dealt with the unmotivated teen! I understand the failure to launch syndrome
I liked the judge telling him, "I'll see you again " 😂
An indigent musician who's also a stoner? Impossible!
Missed the live too 🤦♀️ Merry Christmas everyone! First year all of my children will not all be here. DH will only be home awake with us for about 8 hrs. But grandson is old enough to enjoy the hoopla. It’s that stage of life🤷🏼♀️
I was literally playing guitar as I watched this. This guy inspired me to quit and get a job!
😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Love the background today! Safe travels and Merry Christmas 🤶 🎄 ❤️
Merry Christmas everyone. Hope you are all doing well

Safe travels Mike !!
Ive come across a few tourist groups in and around the downtown Detroit area, they are like locusts.
I was a juvenile delinquent, at 17 I enlisted in the airforce, at age 56, I retired with 31 years credible service, it can be done
Hagrid goes to Zoom Court
😂😂😂
Dude looked like Murderface from Dethklok. Bass players deserve respect too!
Watching Ms Strasser made the whole video worthwhile
I missed live as well Merry Christmas all and to all a good season.😊

Recruiting bodies for Uncle Sam.

What kind of job can he get ? Might as well ask him to solve quadratic equations.
He sounds like he's a little toasted.
Lemme guess, mr Lee was acting the way that a typical mainland Chinese tourist.
Well I'm now curious if in the next month the kid joins the service?
Adam Sandler needs to make a movie called " Poor Guy". And Star in it. 😊 And pay the Poor Guy.🎉
Need to get you an external keyboard you can setup for sounds, a soundboard. Don't think has to be fancy.

I laughed so hard.....after all that, we need to start over lol
This is how all genZ is falling harder than me dropping in a half pipe.
Its gonna be a hard few years for them.
Us GenX are gonna eat a lot of popcorn and laugh at them.
A lot.
"Give me a ticket for an aeroplane. Ain't got time to take a fast train..." ROFL
Damn YT! They need to seriously do a complete update of their platform. I’m mad. I just missed this stream.
You should make "Put The Bong Down Sunday" a regular thing.
This was like waiting for the translation on Wayne’s World
He doesn't care. No motivation. Judge could be more positive. Tough love.
I missed it by that much.
Mee too stupid UA-cam .
Light bulb goes off!!! You mean to tell me.....
Thank you Judge Oakley
Merry Christmas!!
Merry Christmas everybody - have a wonderful week.
Thanks for quickie.
I doubt stoner dude could even pass the entrance exam for the military. And being an engineer? He's not even close.
Have a Merry Christmas, Mike!
Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas Mike ⛄
Should show this to high school students…marijuana destroys any ambition….
Elementary schools too
The theme is spot on! 🎉🎉🎉
The military doesn't want this guy.
But job corp will take him
Very good advice….
Awkward!
Merry Christmas, all & don't forget:
Put The Bong Down
Man, he needs some mental help. His family takes care of him probably because he's not mentally able to live on his own. Poor guy. 😥
Oh wow. He's lost it.
Poor chap clearly looks very unwell.
Man that first guy was kinda sweet just wanted to go good with himself but knows hes got problems
Some people object to pot smoking guitarists that look like Guy Faulks, give the Guy a break! You are only young once let him make a few more dozen!
Thanks
No ones hiring you.... Shows up to court in house slippers and sweat ensamble. Guy tries to smoke as much as he can afford.
In the words of the Ramone's "I want to be sedated".
Is that Mike's brother
Military? Now you are setting up the kid for a whole different set of problems!
Yeah, he'll have to turn and do something positive
This guy needs some help. There is clearly some mental issue here. Please help him.
What's she say?
Ok torn between laughing and my heart aching for eighties guy, who obvy has some kind of issue. Yes Iknow I am a pearl clutcher.
I don't think you know what pearl clutching means
@ in the broadest sense of the word.
It think it's pretty obvious that Mr. LeFountain has deeper issues than just smoking pot.
A good one for the 2025 Whambulance section.

I like Oakley even more now.
I missed it again

That guy looks like Chewie Ray Cyrus
Poor guitar smokin’ pot guy…😢
13:08 that day was his once a week
Take your weed money and pay what you OWE 😂😂😂😂
"dude get your hair out of your face." That is what I think about my son's hair.
Well, SOMEONE was recording it.
Honestly the last dude i think he is just smoking the wrong kinda weed . He seems to know what he wants but the stuff he's doing isn't motivating enough!!!!! 😂😂
He tried.
He seems to have some sort of mental issue, maybe from substance abuse. I feel bad for him
Someone needs to mute jon kids n crazy
