The vet that the plaintiff found probably didn't want to get sued once they found that the dog could be traced back to an owner that had it chipped... So, they didn't give it back to Sarah (plaintiff).
Agreed. If that had been my lost dog I would have been calling at least once a week to keep in contact and sending money for supplies until I could make the trip. She was even back in the area but hadn't contacted the defendant to say "I'm finally here to pick up the dog"
Yeah if the original owner didn’t just happen to be in town for a funeral, they wouldn’t have picked up the dog. I get the vet was in a weird position but it’s sad they gave the dog back
@musicjunkie274 Well, thing is, if the plaintiff knew about the chip, she could've had it taken care of before taking the dog to the vet, and none of them would've been there, ya know? Kinda outrageous the defendant withheld that from her.
Or may be she was given ' for once be nice to a psychologically ill person and not scream and just not be ur usual self i.e cranky' shots...bcz the plaintiff has a history of psychiatric issues and depression and may be JJ's stern and cranky behaviour might trigger something in the plaintiff like outbursts, crying...so i believe that's why she was a bit calm on this one.
If I lost my dog Jasper in another state/country, and got a call to say he'd been found, I'd be on the next plane back to get him. I absolutely wouldn't leave it 5 months!
The original owner of the dog should NOT get the dog back, she had MONTHS to come get the dog and she did NOT! thats ABANDONMENT!! if anything, the original owner shd pay the buyer the $200 AND pay the rescuer for all the expenses SHE INCURRED while maintaining the dog, also.
JJ took into account that the plaintiff had a mental health issue and could not easily leave her home at the time (a serious issue that people have) so I could see I bit of empathy in her judgement, especially since JJ would probably hate to go thru that with her own animals.
I agree. The original owner is at fault for not retrieving her dog and not arranging anything with the rescuer to get it back. They did abandon the dog and should be responsible for everyone's expenses. Sadly, the plaintiff took the wrong person to court.
Good grief. All my mental issues have gotten worse…just imagine the pain that the owner felt when this dog went missing? Get over your victimhood and just move on. There are so many wonderful pets out there that need a home…

Theyre both kind, caring people. Especially impressed by the defendant who even after paying for shots etc at the vet, tried to find the owner, God bless her.

I mean I didn’t have agoraphobia but I had severe anxiety to the point where I didn’t leave my house in over a year but I still went out for certain necessary things a few times a month
I don't mean to sound cruel.... but for that woman to say, "I'll never get over this for the rest of my life." Is beyond ridiculous. I understand that she has emotional and/or psychological issues... but she sounds like she's more of a histrionic personality disorder, kinda chick. No one would be able to get over it if they remain dead set to maintain their "misery." That was a very manipulative and petty statement, in my opinion. As long as everyone she's dealing with believes her to be a victim, then she will get the attention she's craving.
Welp, this is ONE case where JJ can't ask "have you been diagnosed with any mental or psychotic disorders within the last 6 months? Cause the answer woulda been 'OMG yes.'
This person is probably receiving disability over her not wanting to leave the house but she’s in court suing cause she needs a dog to be with her for her mental health like omg grow up lady it’s the same as a child carrying a stuffed animal for support ffs people are going backwards in life
I feel bad for the plantiff and defendant. Part of therapy in my medical case which is similar to her case is learning not to use overly dramatic words because when you use overly dramatic words it helps reinforce really negative thoughts so It can hinder you moving forward well. It is helping to feed into bad and negative emotions, like when she said at the end of the show " I will never get over this, for the REST of my life". That is setting yourself up to be dramatically affected by this for as long as you can. I have had to learn to not make statements like that as if they are FACTS Instead I have learned to feed into more positive thoughts/emotions like saying "this hurts alot, but one day soon I will give another dog it's forever home with me". It feeds good/positive thoughts to my brain which actually helps me very much. Ive had to work very hard to get to this point because of being housebound. But it changes my outlook. I don't know if it would be helpful to her but for my diagnosis it is. 😊
Unfortunately the plaintiff ended up in a hurtful position. It was no ones fault. I hope she can over come her illness. Seems she holds onto a lot of emotions and things that happen.
She seriously said she'll never get over this for the rest of her life!?! Wow. Talk about 1st world petty problems! I've had anxiety my whole life and would never act like that to others. My anxiety is my problem, no one else's.
All I Can Say Is Poor Dog, Getting Lost, Then Found By A New Owner, Then Sold To yet Another Owner, Then Finally Back Home. I Hope It's A Good Home. The Plaintive Was Trying To Make A Few Extra Bucks For Poor Me. Good Job J.J.
I'm not sure that putting ALL of your emotional needs on a dog is a healthy thing. And a dog you've had for 2 months. Therapy should help deal with issues not transfer them to an animal. If she can't get over this for the rest of her life then I don't know what to say. The original owner loves their dog and isn't going to give it to her
Judge judy did the right thing here, but she failed to inform the defendant that she should go sue the owner of the dog for the $200 as well because the original owner basically abandoned their dog for 5 months and the came back to claim the dog after the shots and feeding for 5 months which is strange. So the original owner is at least responsible for $200 if not giving this dog back to the defendant.
I dont think the defendant is responsible for $200 considering the dog was clearly abandoned, she took care of it for 5 months and got it all his shots. She spent more than $200 on this dog to keep well and alive

Very good catch, I think an animal is too big a risk for her mental health potentially getting worse. If she's this attached to a dog she knew for a few months, imagine how she'll feel losing a dog after 12-15 years, give or take.
that was a bit overdramatic..some people use their mental illness for sympathy
@@oag2167 Yeah, she"s so attached, that she suffered so greatly, couldn"t cope, was afraid to go outside but still managed to go on TV to get her money back plus more!!! Tsk! As someone who suffers from mental health myself, this is enraging. Makes a mockery of mental health.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Never in her life for $200 for sure.
The plaintiff at the end we treated her better than anybody else. How can she know that?😢😢😢
"I'll never get over this for the rest of my life."😂😂😂😂😂😂 She must be a real pleasure to know. I bet she has a pretty long list of things she'll "never get over"😂
The circumstances were beyond the defendants control, I don't know why the Plaintiff doesn't get that. What she should have done is get a court order to get the dog back from the vet as it was clearly abandoned. I have no doubt she would have won that case. Why she wants to blame the defendant for everything is beyond me.
legend has it she's still trying to say one more thing
Oh please she should be happy. She got her $200 trying to get five times more than what she paid ridiculous.
"I'll never get over this the rest of my life" Sounds like you're choosing that outcome for yourself.
Do you have mental trauma? Do you know what it’s like to drag yourself out of bed every day knowing that all you want to do is die?
If you haven’t walked in her shoes, please don’t make rude comments.
@@PartyOf8Please She was clearly milking it, and I as someone that suffers from mental health I find her embarrassing so if someone wants to comment, it may be rude to you, but not to others.
The rest of your life..... is a very long time ⌛️ ... JEEZ, THE REST ..??? 🤣🤣😭
Yes she sounds miserable. We live in a world now where Mental Illness is glorified and we are meant to all tread on eggshells around these nutjobs. People like her used to be put into a Sanitarium for their own safety...and they liked it too! Less stress for everyone...
@@PartyOf8Please yes actually, I have suffered trauma. I've got chronic health issues as well. So I'm more than qualified to offer my opinion, which stands
glad the defendant spoke up about the chip. my first thought was that the defendant was wrong for not mentioning the chip. the fact she told her it had a chip and she still decided to go buy it was at her own risk. if it has a chip, you don't commit
Suffers from anxiety and comes on national TV 😂
And your point is?
That she is a liar.
@@NickyMay16that YOU ARE a defensive Karen that’s the point so get it. Now move Tf on
@@jen-a-purr Go away troll
I have a suspicion that because it was SEVERAL MONTHS before the "rightful owner" even bothered with the dog, that the "rightful owner" doesn't care about it or cares for it. Either of these two ladies would have treated the dog better.
Shame.
Probably been sold by now.
I agree. If my lost dog was found within driving distance, I'd be on the road within days! And that first vet has just a bit of accountability for not having a proper chip reader, if you ask me! Which no one did, so...well anyway, wherever that cute Cookie is, I hope she's happy, healthy and well-loved!
Get over it, wack a doodle!!🤣
The "rightful owner" should have had to pay $200.00 or more to get the dog back!! It was abandoned!
grown woman acting like a 5 years old. mental health is nowdays a pass to behave poorly. amazing.
The plaintiff is a grown woman who needs a significant dose of reality. Just go get another dog! For what it's worth, an EMOTIONAL SUPPORT ANIMAL is just a pet by another name. Let's keep it real.
No good deed goes unpunished... The owner now need to reimburse the defendant.
She has agoraphobia and all these mental issues but has the ability to sue this poor woman and go on national television. Give me a break. Emotional support animals are ridiculous, all animals emotionally support you, that doesn’t mean you get to take them into Target with you. She on JJ without a dog and is doing just fine.
JJ is a dog lover so she seems extra patient & compassionate in this case since she respects that both parties being responsible dog owners. For once i didn't hear "um is not an answer' or 'just a second...' or 'we are done'.
The “just a second” definitely showed up once or twice - that’s her staple 😂
If she believes she'll 'never get over this for the rest of her life' then with that negativity I don't expect she will. She's her own worst enemy.
I take it that you don't know much about mental health issues.....
@@justanotherenigma The term is 'self fulfilling prophecy'. Believe me, I've been there, done that and got the t-shirt. It's not a smooth journey. But you get peace of mind at the end.
@@justanotherenigmayea because everything is a mental health issue right?? Ignorance at it’s best. This country gives medication out for just about anything but let’s keep pretending it’s all due to mental health 🤣😂
Right! Think about all the things she could possibly go through in life and she'll never get over something like this!!! It's really sad
Irony: Your Emotional Support Dog running away from you.
She should’ve taken the actual owner to court for custody of the dog, not this lady. The owners abandoned it.
She's so emotionally injured and agoraphobic, but she can go on TV far from her home and function quite well?
U had the dog 2 months lady calm down
Oh come on, she can’t blame this woman for her mental health crash. She hasn’t had a dog for years and could’ve gone out and gotten another dog the same day. She’s not even properly training a service dog, she wants an emotional support dog which is just a glorified pet and performs no service.
The plaintiff says she has “psychiatric issues” and then said, “she’ll never get over this”…I don’t think this helps with healing and moving forward.😢
She’s not agoraphobic, she’s even out on a tv show with no support dog.
As someone who is agoraphobic, there is absolutely no way that I would be able to set foot into that tv studio with or without my support dog.
She is a brat that is definite go get another dog damn.
That's exactly what I was thinking.
I've had Agoraphobia it suks! Xanax took it away, I still have anxiety disorder that'll never go away .
I mean I didn’t have agoraphobia but I had severe anxiety to the point where I didn’t leave my house in over a year but I still went out for certain necessary things a few times a month
If the dog went to its rightful owner... Thats the end.
If it's chipped it goes back by law...thats it.
The P needs some serious help.
JJ @1:26 said Mississippi like Tom Cruise from Interview with a Vampire 😂
Welp, this is ONE case where JJ can't ask "have you been diagnosed with any mental or psychotic disorders within the last 6 months? Cause the answer woulda been 'OMG yes.'
It’s agreat mentality lady. I’ll never get over this????? people lose children and loved ones, the dog isn’t even dead grow up
The plaintiff is rediculous
That blonde lady says she has some disease that keeps her homebound unless she has a dog...but she came to court.
Plaintiff is off and wanted a pay day
She should be suing the original dog owner. That 6 months of not abandonment
“I’ll never get over this for the rest of my life.” Grow up. You had a dog for 2 months.
I hope she never has a real problem in her life.
"I'll never get over this for the rest of my life." - that's an interesting choice to make.
This person is probably receiving disability over her not wanting to leave the house but she’s in court suing cause she needs a dog to be with her for her mental health like omg grow up lady it’s the same as a child carrying a stuffed animal for support ffs people are going backwards in life
The SSA watches JJ and I hope they take away her SSD if she is getting it. She is clearly a scammer!!
cant see any mental health issues about not being able to be with others, timid about public places - doing very well in court
If this woman is so sick she can’t go in public without her dog she needs a care giver not a dog
Shes scared to leave the house, but came on national television 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Unfortunately the plaintiff ended up in a hurtful position. It was no ones fault. I hope she can over come her illness. Seems she holds onto a lot of emotions and things that happen.
I like both these women, they are caring people..
That woman is pathetic, and should not have got her $200 back. Drama queen saying she will never get over it in her life.
??????????????????????????????????????
I'm not sure that putting ALL of your emotional needs on a dog is a healthy thing. And a dog you've had for 2 months. Therapy should help deal with issues not transfer them to an animal. If she can't get over this for the rest of her life then I don't know what to say. The original owner loves their dog and isn't going to give it to her
The plaintiff is ridiculous
What happened to her mental disorder..? Did she leave it behind for the court case
I just love the dog's name!
“I’ll never get over this. For the rest of my life.” Sis, it’s a dog. You’re putting value in the wrong shit. Go get you a dog if you would like a dog.
