I stayed in the Ngoma Zanga Lodge in February 2020. It is a lovely hotel with friendly staff. However they need to work on the lack of food choice each night in the restaurant. The menu changed very little. The breakfast was nice though most of the time, until the chef decided to try to make crisps instead of just fried potatoes. But I can recommend it as a great place to stay. Watching the little lizards running around whilst sitting outside the room looking over the pool was relaxing.
I lived in Livingstone 1972-82 and the only hotels i can recall were Fairmount, The North Western and Musi-o- Tunya (at the Falls). Glad to see that the first and the third have prospered. The Fairmount drew in a crowd every Saturday evening for supper theatre, with a 5-course dinner followed by a movie on a good old projector and screen. Sad that The North Western has closed. It had a good location at the bottom of the hill, even if the view was of the railway tracks, but had ample parking. I recall that once a month my father would take me there and we would sit in the verandah opposite the bar and enjoy a beer and a cream soda, respectively. Can't it be revived? It was unique for its Tudor decoration and, along with Fairmount, was used by GRZ as temporary accommodation for expats who'd come to work in Livingstone. It would make a great re-addition to Livingstone's budget hotels.
