Got this about a month ago and plugged in my natural 76’ reissue explorer with Seymour Duncan phat cats and it is one of the best sound combos I’ve heard. Nails those classic rock tones, best amp I have played.
I love this amp and the Black Magick 1x12 combo. I want both!!

The legendary amp which Jimmy Page recorded Led Zeppelin I in 68´, Stairway to Heaven, and Joe Cocker's With a Little Help from My Friends cover. The Supro Coronado 1690 T Page played it had 24 W. What a beauty.
Yes my new amp is incredible, they got there shit together over there at supro, and the tremolo... Omg is unbelievable, I push the amp to about 2/3 and hit it with my TS9 or my Maxon 808 OD pedals and it is beautiful, and with no overdrive just dimed up it sounds pretty close to this, I do believe they are eq'ing post on this
Back to the Future. Majestic Harmonics. A lo-fi delay, and the proper O.D.,forget it. Andy's L.P. CMT is glorious. I'm actually sprung on this Amp and no modeler is going to give you what it got.I love the Heavy stuff,KT77's, ENGL Savage, PRS Archon, EVHlll, but this is Purist gear.Tele,Strat, Gibson Les Pauls. I can see a big Jazz Guitar sounding sublime. I love Gibsons so I always love hearing Andy play that CMT.I have a Custom and a Junior that might just sound nice through it. Does she take pedals well ? lol.
Knowing now that this was the amp that Page used on the first Zep album after it had fell out of their bus and modified the shit out of it, I understand.
This is probably the best sounding reissue amp of the last 10 years. I was blown away by this thing. I was far less impressed by the made quality, that is, for the best, average.
Wow!! But the question is: is it too loud for play rock in a small pub? Can I reach its full sound without break any hears? Obviously, I'm talking about a full clean sound. I use pedals for overdrive and fuzz tone.
Nothing wrong with a good PCB board, more efficient better circuit only not boutique, I have both, it does effect the resale value but that is not important if you use the amp and enjoy it. The build quality of the cabinets are much better than the old Supro's. Don't pay $1.349.00 call for a better price, I just got a brand new 1690T for $1,100.00 ....II can probably get $850 a few years from now...big whoop.
STRATMAN firdaus Of course, I get that, and it must be a self-taught thing. But still, it looks quite a bit different from any style of fingerpicking I've seen before. Maybe I haven't watched that many fingerstyle players? haha. Anyway, thanks EDIT: What I was trying to say, I suppose, is that the way he plays fingerstyle in a spectrum of rock and blues which has not been traditionally played that way impresses me. I mean, he gets the tone so right! He does not seem to be relented by it. And it's different that the Mark Knopfler thing, which I respect a lot by the way. Does that make sense?
STRATMAN firdaus Really? I was used to the pinch thing he does with the thumb and the index fingers. You learn something new every day, it seems.. Anyways, I maybe said that too lightheartedly. My apologies.
Depends on how loud you're running it. If you keep it clean and get your dirt from pedals, it will sound awesome with effects. If you run it really hot and dirty, not so much. Unless you're going for that kind of sound of course.
www.guitarworld.com/news/jimmy-page-reveals-the-amp-he-really-used-to-record-whole-lotta-love “The amplifier on the first [Led Zeppelin] album is the Supro [Coronado 1690T] amplifier,” he confirms. “It fits great with the Telecaster, but with the Gibson [Les Paul] it was a really overdriven sound, right? And when I started doing studio work, I realized that that was a bit too radical for them at the time. “So I got what everyone else was getting, so that psychologically it looked right, which was a Burns amplifier, which I had during the studio days. But when Paul Samwell-Smith left the [Yardbirds], he left his equipment behind - the [Vox] amplifier heads. I know them as Super Beatles."
100W vs 35W isn't much difference in overall volume. However, the Supro will have less headroom and bass response with the 10" speakers. The Lone Star has the capability of being very quiet actually--10W mode and setting the master volume low. If that's still too loud, I'd look into a single 10 or 12" combo. Andy
If you're still in the market for an amp that can give you incredible tones at reasonable volumes I HIGGGGGGHLY recommend the Vox AC10C1. They are INCREDIBLE amps. I mean REALLY great. You can also get one for less than $500 as well and it's like Vox is allowing you to rob them. I've got an AC30 and an AC10 in British Racing Green and I'd probably run in my burning house to save that AC10 because I genuinely love it that much. I still think these Coronado's sound awesome too and have a Jimmy Page Mirror Tele that I'd love to hook into one.
It seems class A is always "in parentheses now" which usually means: having many attributes of a true class A power section. I may be wrong on the Supros, but that's what a lot of other mfgs have done, which is very misleading.
Brad Carroll Yup- and that is so silly because the entire harmonic structure is different in class A amps. Marketing- gotta love the lies! :) Even if it WAS class A- you could get a MAX of 22 watts or so from parallel 6L6 in class A.....
That wasn't the amp Page recorded with. The actual amp used by Jimmy Page to record the first two Led Zeppelin albums as well as the solo for Stairway to Heaven from Led Zeppelin IV, was actually a modified 1962 Supro 1690T Coronado. In the early sixties, the Supro 1624T and 1690T both shared the same 6973-based power section. Page put a 12” speaker baffle on his ’62 1690T Coronado, effectively turning it into a 1624T.
An amp demo? Does this mean PGS is going to start carrying gear other than pedals again? I just moved to Portland last year and was excited to go try out some Reverend guitars. Little did I know that they had already closed their retail shop and were in the process of liquidating everything that wasn't a pedal. Very disappointed. But I still love watching Andy's demos.
That's the exact thing happening where I live (Chattanooga,Tn.) with what appears online to be the most awesome store ever, Humbucker Music. I was so excited to go drop some dough, and got the impression of "we really don't want you here, here's our web address". I guess the allure of not having the burden of paying pesky employees is to great. I guess I'll order from Chicago Music Exchange, I like REAL stores.
Brad Carroll If you ever get to visit Chicago Music Exchange it is awesome. Their low hanging fruit are all the historic LP reissues and it goes up from there. They are super nice and most all are practicing musicians. I make a trip up there once a year. It is the best thing in the whole state besides the pizza:)
M. Black Referring to that as pizza is a matter of opinion. =P I can't stand Chicago style pizza. To each his own though! My taste buds are not your taste buds.
Quiet nice and that board looks OVER simplified for a very sturdy work horse amp that you don't have to worry about shitting out on you ! Plus why isn't FENDER making amps that sound like this, I figured it was because they just couldn't do it any more because REALLY if its possible to make amps today that sounds like this then it's a no brainer.
The 1690T Coronado was amp Page used for Led Zep I. It got smashed by a careless roadie during his Yardbird days and was repaired with a new baffle board sporting a single 12 inch alnico. The original speakers on the Coronado were 2x10 inch rola alnicos and that was the amp he purchased in 1962 and did most of his session work on.
It was after modification as aforementioned. He did record with just the 1x12, but it was the 1690 T which was modified into the 1x12, which of course was and still is a 2 x 10. From Supro's website: The actual amp used by Jimmy Page to record the first two Led Zeppelin albums as well as the solo for Stairway to Heaven from Led Zeppelin IV, was actually a modified 1962 Supro 1690T Coronado. Our understanding is that Page put a 12” speaker baffle on his ’62 1690T Coronado, effectively turning it into a 1624T.
Don't be fooled just because it says "Supro" dude. It's a PCB amp (2:11 on the vid), not boutique in any way! This bears little resemblance to the original, trust me. Go to Ebay and look at the guts of an original if you don't believe me. I think $1349 is pretty high for a PCB amp, it ought to at least be turret board for that price, if not point-to-point, tube rectifier notwithstanding. But, as always, tone is in the ear of the beholder. If you dig it, buy it.
i drove it out to the supro facility and they said there was something wrong with it so they let me pick anything i wanted brand new so i grabbed the dual tone and they gave me a free footswitch also and i love it, plus they gave me a tour of the place and i hung out with the owner for a while he is an awesome guy, they are great over there at supro i couldnt believe how well they treated me
+Reaper Rooney your comment has convinced me to buy a new Supro for my next amp purchase. for me, it's crucial to do business with a company that treats their customers well! besides the quality of service, thier amps sound unique. as a pedal guy, it's a good feeling to be able to bypass the pedals and crank the amp for legendary tube overdrive! I'm sold!!!
All these reissued Supros sound fantastic, and they're reasonably priced.
I've stopped listening to Andy for gear demos, I just listen for pleasure. The problem is, he makes *everything* sound good.
Got this about a month ago and plugged in my natural 76’ reissue explorer with Seymour Duncan phat cats and it is one of the best sound combos I’ve heard. Nails those classic rock tones, best amp I have played.

Andy Just Left Chicago
No shit,an amp demo. I was really hoping for another overdrive pedal demo.
I could watch this guy all day.
Kick ass playing there... Great sound from that system.
Great clear sound
I won't get tired of saying: "F*ckin' Andy!"
Superb playing!!
Very nice, sounds incredible guys. Love my vintage 1688TN. Tube trem is so lush and smooth. Killer vibes from these amps.
The LP through that sounds frickin' AMAZING! As does the tele. Sweeeeet.
Drew Elliot To be fair a Les Paul sounds awesome through any decent amp.
Andy is just amazing with a guitar.
great things happened in the early 60s.supro was one!! twin 2x10s 6l6 and tube rectifier CHILLS !!!!
Listening To The Kinks Anthology while they build the amp that's hilarious. Sucks to be the guy who gets the Listening To Katy Perry amp.
I'll take it.
I can see the future, 40 years from now; "do you think that sounds like a listening to the Kinks or a listening to Muddy Waters reissue"? Lol
Brad Carroll hahaha "The extra stroke marks from the use of the word Anthology gives the Kinks amp a heavier tone...."
it sounds sexy with a telecaster, just amazing, I hope it becomes available in the UK
Great playing broski

Damn I love ZZ Top. Great song choice!
Man your lp sounds great with that amp----sweet !
Awesome jam Andy !!!
Two weeks and this baby is mine!
How did things turn out? I'm really digging this amp. :)
The Excalibur !?
Today I learned how to play Jesus Just Left Chicago... Goddamn that amp sounds good.
Great playing Andy !!!
Take me home Jesus

Great Tres Hobres touch Fingers McGee.
Knowing now that this was the amp that Page used on the first Zep album after it had fell out of their bus and modified the shit out of it, I understand.
this...is what an amp should sound like.
Anyone else watch these reviews just because they like to listen to him play?
Righteous, brother!
This is probably the best sounding reissue amp of the last 10 years. I was blown away by this thing.
I was far less impressed by the made quality, that is, for the best, average.
Jimmy Page pre Led Zepp amp was a Supro Coronado!
Funny, I finally got my old record player hooked up again and dropped a needle on my "Tres Hombres" vinyl earlier today (before watching this).
Wow!! But the question is: is it too loud for play rock in a small pub? Can I reach its full sound without break any hears?
Obviously, I'm talking about a full clean sound. I use pedals for overdrive and fuzz tone.

35W class A?! Awsome
I'd like to hear an Esquire from any generation through this Amplifier. Maybe Gregor will dig one up.
Dynamite skills. How does the right thumb stand up to the technique.
Hey guys great demo as always! In your opinion does this amp take pedals well?
That trem - I came.
yup. I actually woot when it came on
Ahhh take me to da sto' Jesus to get this amp.....I prolly cant make it sound as good as Andy but I'll die trying
How did Andy learn his right hand technique? I've seen a few ProGuitarShop videos and it amazes me every time
Ahmenrra knebep By good old fashion practicing. There are a lot of great finger style guitar players that inspire finger style guitar play.
STRATMAN firdaus
Of course, I get that, and it must be a self-taught thing. But still, it looks quite a bit different from any style of fingerpicking I've seen before. Maybe I haven't watched that many fingerstyle players? haha. Anyway, thanks

I mean, he gets the tone so right! He does not seem to be relented by it. And it's different that the Mark Knopfler thing, which I respect a lot by the way.
Does that make sense?
Ahmenrra knebep In fact Mark Knopfler at certain times uses the thumb folded like a plectrum exactly like Andy for rock on certain songs and passes.
STRATMAN firdaus
Really? I was used to the pinch thing he does with the thumb and the index fingers. You learn something new every day, it seems..
Anyways, I maybe said that too lightheartedly. My apologies.
Ahmenrra knebep Yes, really. Take it easy!
Haven't heard a Supro amp that I liked yet.
How does it sound at low bedroom volume? Is it an amo that needs to be loud to sound good?
Jesus just left chicago!!! And he's bound for new orleans
with a new supro
I want this but with a single 12" speaker
Well, they have a model fairly similar to this that's a 1x12. It's been a while since you posted this. I hope you got what you wanted!!!
Andy, can you please write the names of songs you played after each video?
will it sounds good if i put modulation and time base pedal on the front of this amp?
Depends on how loud you're running it. If you keep it clean and get your dirt from pedals, it will sound awesome with effects. If you run it really hot and dirty, not so much. Unless you're going for that kind of sound of course.
Thanks man, my pedalboard will feel upset if i crank the amp up 😸

How loud is this amp compare to a mesa boogie lone star amp 100 watt? I'm looking for something quieter.

Yes! I need this! Take my money and both of my kidneys, I dont care! 😍
Someone needs to explain how you get 35 watts of CLASS A power out of a pair of 6L6 tubes....
It seems class A is always "in parentheses now" which usually means: having many attributes of a true class A power section. I may be wrong on the Supros, but that's what a lot of other mfgs have done, which is very misleading.

good, keep your tastebuds away from mine.
Unless you buy me a pizza, then we can talk:)
Is this a Bruce Zinky Supro?
Hmmmm, I don't know about this one -very harsh and brittle sounding. not any low end or chime. not sounding like an amp I would get inspiration from
Ok yeah but in real life this amp has too much bass.
Plus no one is "hard selling" you on it, either buy one or not.
I have this same exact amp and it sounds nothing like this without an overdrive or some kind of pedal
+Reaper Rooney at about the 40 second mark it reads in the upper right hand corner " channels linked for overdrive etc'
Is PGS selling amps again?

+Reaper Rooney No pedals. Just the amp dimed.
Are you seriously allergic to picks Andy? No complaints about your playing (magnificent as always), just wondering.........
Mate, considering how many material picks can be made out of these days one would think that it's almost impossible to be allergic to all picks

I can't even begin to imagine how much this would cost.

Pretty affordable actually ;-)
