BEST-BY dates are NOT 'expiration' dates.
My second son, with his wife and 4 yr old autistic son, is driving about 3600 KM because he got a job closer to us, which puts my mind at ease for when things go badly. Their house needs to sell, and they need to find a nice place to stay in the meantime before they can buy one here. Prayers appreciated for all of us, as you are in mine. Thank you.

If you purchase your pop at Shoppers drug mart, they have the 18 packs for 8.79 and you can collect optimum points on your purchases that can be used towards groceries, gas etc.😊

Hiya Michelle and Kevin. When I get any sweets I will put a small amount in snack sized baggies and pitch, Yes Literally pitch, the bags into random places in my freezer. That way I either have to hunt for them or I get an occasional treat when I happen to find a bag while prepping dinner. I have a bag that any empty used baggies are stored until I need them or they rip apart

Great job! I have a bunch of the "life straws" too. I have 4 adults and a young child in my family to think of. Water is what I worry about the most if anything goes sideways everything else is easy to store.

Great video Kevin! Water is so important to sustain life. A hand pump on a well is an option for well owners if the power goes down. Praying for you and Michelle. Thank you for posting. Always look forward to your talks!

Awesome video Kevin and you got a really nice shopping haul with a lot of good stuff. And i have to agree with you about that water is crucial you will not last long without water. And those water treatment pills do not purify the water they disinfect the water and to purify the water you need a filter for that and that is what i have learned. Take care my friend and stay safe God bless to both of you.

Hi Kevin, Check out the Water Bob. It’s a bladder the size of your bathtub that you can fill with water for an emergency. You don’t need to worry about the drain leaking.

Filling the tub works if you know ahead of time that your water supply may go out. But you don't always know in advance. We started getting serious about stashing water after a water line break. This has now happened several times here in the last few years. Fortunately water service was restored in less than a day each time. But the unexpected outages were easier to deal with when we had the extra water stored.

Hi Kevin and Michelle! Good topic today. My water pump went out yesterday. I thought I had a good stash of water in the basement. Well we went through it pretty fast. With making supper, washing dishes and spit washes or all before bed, not to mention drinking water for dogs and cats. We have pretty much used it all!❤️🇨🇦

Just a thought on the water: like you I have town water that is heavily treated. SO those refilled bottles can be used for cleaning - dishes, sponge baths, and yes you can even use it for cooking. For drinking - try leaving the cap off for a few hours. Supposedly the chemical taste evaporates? Dunno for sure but it can't hurt.

M & M was always expensive, the portions are smaller now. I try to only buy what is on sale. I meant to ask if Michelle liked their Sweet Potatoes, I did not but I do like their regular potatoes. I have had problems getting good potatoes from our grocery store, so I depend on them for back-up. I am also in an apartment, I finally purged clothing "I will wear someday" to make room in my closets for storage. I have under the bed storage containers. I have a Zero Water container, boy have filters ever increased in price, but they do last 6 months.

The tablets you have to purify water cannot be used continuously because of the chlorine or iodine in them. You can start having health problems. I bought a bunch of bottles to have on hand until I learned this. I will still use them but not long term.

A tip for filtering water that I heard on another video is to use ciffee filters to filter out large debris from your water before filtering it through a Life Straw of cup filter. It saves the filter from getting clogged up as fast, prolonging its life.
