I now have 4 Tisas 1911s. I’ve only had one issue with one, and it was a magazine issue. I contacted Tisas and they sent me out a new magazine. No other issues with any of them. Love them!
I have the Tisas Yukon carry in 10mm. I’ve put everything through it ammo wise. From light to Buffalo bore 200 & 220 heavy game loads. No failures at all. I did lose a grip screw which Tisas/ SDS promplly replaced for free. Even sent an extra one. Blue locktite is your friend.
I have that same gun. The only issue I had was it would lock back before it was empty. Once the gun got broken in. I found that the problem was a weak plunger spring and detent. I replaced it with a Wilson Combat branded one I got off Amazon. That fixed the problem and bonus it helped with the safety over travel as well.
I run Wilson, Chip McCormick and Mec Gar stainless steel mags. Quality mags are a must with 1911’s. I’ve been pleasantly surprised with the SS Mec Gars.
This is the first time I see your video. I had the same problem with my Tisas Raider and what I did was I bought Wilson Combat mags. I didn't have any more issues after that. Yes, that's the same thing! I said why don't they come with quality mags to begin with.
I had issues with hollow points and got a EGW high shelf mag release for about $20.00 and it solved my problem. It moves the round a little higher on the feed ramp.👍
thank you for this 3 part honest review !!! i bought a sw fpc lastyear took it to the range nothing but light primer strikes contacted sw they sent me a new bcg with in 6 days runs great ever since qc happens with all gun manufactures
I learned my lesson years ago. Only run WC, CMC or Ed Brown magazines thru my 1911's, both 45 and 9mm. Have never ran into an issue with those magazines. I do have some MecGar that run great. I also have a few aftermarket magazines, that I use for training for failure drills, once in a while those will fail. Great video
My raider was doing the same thing, 4 failures to feed. Used the 2x mecgar with 3x wilson combat 47D mags. All but 2 WC mags had a fail. Using 230G federal ball. Havent RMAd yet. Polished the ramp and re oiled all contact points and will try again. Keep updaring us please.
I have sold and shot a lot of Tisas 1911’s the last couple years and they have been solid guns. The only issue we had was with one 9mm that had to be sent back. Personally I gut all 1911’s, polish the rails, and rebuild them with Wilson Combat spring kits. Another thing I do with 1911’s is only run Wilson Combat or MecGar magazines. So far everything has been good with Tisas for us, but I understand why you wouldn’t want one if it’s giving you problems.
I noticed the mags that came with mine were very dry and difficult to depress, so I lubed them up before ever shooting the gun. Not one single failure in this Tisas 1911 A1 "ASF" U.S. Army 9 which I think is a newer model than the one shown here. It has the titanium firing pin. That's a really nice place where you live...
I bought a Rock Island cheap because the owner was having problems similar to yours with the OEM ACT-Mags. Replacing the mags with Metalform mags was the cure. I've not had the best of luck with Checkmate magazines.
I own three Tisas 1911's, all in 45. The first has a slight cosmetic blemish, but runs okay. The other two were complete failures out of the box. I undertook to repair my second Tisas myself. It had numerous issues and should never have made it out of the factory. My last purchase was sent back for warranty repair due to extractor issues. It was returned with the same issue (soft extractor). I fit a new aftermarket part and that solved the problem. If you buy one of these guns, you'll probably be okay. But, bear in mind that quality control is not up to American standards, at least in my experience.
How’s the feed ramp on this 1911? Tisas is known to have issues with the feed ramp not being properly done. Also, I would recommend a new recoil spring as I found the my Tisas had weak springs.
When I purchased my SS45R, it came with two bumpered MecGar mags. Both the firearm and the mags have been flawless for five years. I am curious what your Tisas had for mags. For comparison, my Kimber Stainless II came with two beautiful Kimber stainless mags. Which, at least in my case, were a problem. Made the Kimber frustratingly unreliable, but it was easily fixed by using my mags from Wilson, Nighthawk, MecGar and even Metalform.
Their price point is a result of the strength of the American dollar against the Turkish currency. It is not corner cutting. In the beginning, years ago, some of the small components were MIM parts, but now none of them are. The slide and frame are machined AFTER hardening, which removes the changes in dimensions that typically comes with heat-treating after machining. That's why they are so smooth to rack, in my opinion. This process is actually more expensive than hardening after machining because of the carbide cutters required. These are actually quality firearms. It's just the exchange rate that enables us to be able to get them so cheap here.
Bummer you’re having problems with it. I have 2 Tisas 1911’s. The Duty B45 and the A1 Service Special. Both are incredibly reliable. In fact the Duty is quickly becoming my favorite 1911. I think it’s equal quality to the Springfield Garrison, and I don’t have to worry as much about it rusting. I have to stay on top of my Garrison or it gets spots of rust. The A1 Service Special also runs flawlessly. Love them. Neither one is as nice as my Springfield TRP, but I didn’t pay what I did for that 1911.
Quality workmanship and pride in your product are rare these days. Issues with firearms can mostly be attributed to profit margin. I had purchased a new S and W 686 performance center revolver and it had issues out of the gate. Had to send it in to get fixed. Nobody wants to hear this, however the only firearm I’ve not had ANY issues with is Glock. Don’t hate on me because my history with Glock goes back around 40 years ago. I fired a G17 first production run Austrian army issue Glock (yes stamped with the Austrian military coat of arms) while working with those guys circa 1984 or 85. I’ve owned them ever since. I own a G19 Gen 2 with roughly 15000 rounds through it, no issues at all.. zero. Simply put, if gun manufacturers put workmanship and pride back into the equation, we would have less problems with firearms
A 1911 no matter who the maker is a milspec design. If the stick to the milspec design there should not be an issue with any manufacturer who makes a 1911 or 1911 magazines. I have a Tisas B45 and I have literally no issues with failure to feed from any FMJ ammo or magazines i have which are Wilson Combat, Chip McCormick, and Medgar. I did polish my feed ramp a bit, but I do that with all my pistols which are Glock, Sig Sauer, and Springfield armory. So I say my Tisas is carry worthy after running 7 boxes in it to date 8/5/2024
I run smith and sig in mine. No issues One thing to note kimber says to run 500 rds to break in there 1911s might be onto something to try before saying junk. grabing a cpl good mags a wilson spring kit isn't that bad considering the price point on these. Mine is just a backyard toy so i dont run up my more expensive 1911
My tisas stakeout duty pistol works perfectly fine.tho the first 100 shots I got 2 fall to feed but after another 200 shoots it’s smooth as worm butter I think it just needs to be worked especially if it’s a brand new gun
I think the issue may be with the mag catch. I think the mag catch is holding the mags too low in the gun. Try the mags in another gun. If the mags work, the issue is with the gun. Then try swapping out the mag release with the other gun and see if the problem gun now works.
I have had issues with most 8 round mags. I now use Metalform 7 round magazines. Problems solve. Also you may need to polish disconnector and lap the slide. If you don’t want to mess with it, I’ll give you $250 for it 😂
An Ill fitting slide stop or the slide release can be one of your problems , sometimes the Ogive of a particular bullet can drag on it and act like the follower in the magazine and trip it causing the slide to lock back... Wilson Combat mags always works in my Tisas and RIAs..
Only problem I had with mine was the rear sight fell off randomly gave me a good reason to mount a red dot never had issues with mine guess I got a good one I've ran 1400 rip rounds threw it Soo far and threw some extra attachments to it with a muzzle break but hey it's a throw away gun to me I build them like Legos but for the price they are you can't beat them either way there better than a high point
I sent them back a b9r double stack that would hit 5-7" low at 7 yards. The put "their" ammo through it and it supposedly shot fine. They sent it back saying nothing was wrong with it... but no matter the ammo i used it wouldnt shoot straight. I pitched the pile of junk.
I find that buying a “known” quality product instead of looking for “deals” always leads to a better deal especially on something as important as the initial price.
This is why I only like Glocks, Sigsauer, revolvers, and smith and Wesson m&p. The 1911 is not reliable enough for me to trust it to feed no matter the brand.

My service came with 2 Mec-gar mags, had a McCormick and purchased 2 GI mags. No problems so far. Thanks for the video!
I have a Bantam, Night Stalker & a Devil Ray. All came with Check Mates. All have run flawlessly. Especially that Bantam.

@@ceebee2x314 those are the ones I have!
@@723apache Do they work good for yours?
@@ceebee2x314 yes sir! Very smooth putting the magazine and coming out a lot better than the stock one that it came with

I think you're right.

Thanks for the video! It’s definitely food for thought!
Wilson Combat mags are the way to go...
In order to hit their price point corners have to be cut somewhere. For a semiautomatic pistol it’s the magazine that usually takes the hit.

i have a questions what mags came with your tisas 1911(this is to everyone that sees this) mine is a mec gar mag 8 round.
I have a few Tisas 45's, and no serious issues. Run the snot out of it and keep trying different mags

That's so odd, my Tisas came with two Check Mate Mags. No issues (so far)
was in a local Pawn Shop the other day and the Salesman told me there might be a recall on the Tisas .
Good Ole 1911. 100+ years and they still have issues.
My comment to show support and appreciation for your Video is as follows. -Big Thumbs Up
Checkmate magazines are known for poor quality. Wilson magazines are the way to go for a 1911...
I agree, Wilson’s are great mags.
That sucks, I hate it when you get that response.
Get yourself some Wilson magazines, it appears you are having magazine issues. Wilson is good to go
Mwybe those are SDS mags but the gun comes from turkey with mags is my bet .. But its a 300 gun I'm guessing you caught the bad one out 2000
It's that rat nasty AAC ammo.😂
Ya I’d say it’s fixed. 1911’s just jam sometimes. It is known.
Seems to be just your gun. You got a lemon.
I find that buying a “known” quality product instead of looking for “deals” always leads to a better deal especially on something as important as the initial price.
Get some Wilson combat mags and re-do the video!
This is why I only like Glocks, Sigsauer, revolvers, and smith and Wesson m&p. The 1911 is not reliable enough for me to trust it to feed no matter the brand.
A gun is only as good as the mag holding the ammo....
Spend $2000 on a 1911 and you MIGHT get some $400 Glock reliability.
I’ll buy a rock island instead lol.
I’ll give you 150 for it
🤔😘
You don't understand the firearms industry.. cheap guns require refining.. if cheap guns were perfect, they wouldn't be cheap...
You just need to step back and understand the industry..
Never buy weapons from Tisas, it's rubbish, you could die with it in your hand...
