Drone Stringing Transmission Lines

- Line stringing some of the largest transmission lines in The United States with a drone! This is a unique aerial drone service that we provide to the energy industry. Stringing via our UAS method reduces cost and risk for electric utilities.

Flying skills with real-world application. Good job and use of drone technology, thanks for sharing!
That has to be enormously cost-effective and vastly safer.
These drones are amazing!!

Great technology and great idea
Greatest job

good Job!
Is the the new 765KV transmission installation that runs from the Greentown to Reynolds IN substations using 6 bundled cable?

Drone pulling the small rope that'll tie on to a bigger rope that will tie onto the transmission line.
Not pulling in the largest transmission line like the video states. Pulling in baby rope that will be used to pull in bigger hard line then to pull in the conductors. Helicopter and pilot so much faster.
1:01 drone secures the power line to the electricity pole. thanks
That wasnt the power line, it was a pull rope. Do you not have eyes and/or common sense?
gue st m.
A real lineman wouldn't understand any of this.
Can u get this power line in the uk
Someone still had to climb out on those insulators and rigg the pulley system, correct?
No, we use a real helicopter and lineman to sling it in there and pin it. There's no way the drone can handle the weight of a real rope or hard line pull.
It depend on the drone you make! But it can ends up cheaper to just use an heli after a while, specially since the heli will be faster, and labor is often more expensive than the fuel, maintenance and pilot and other related costs.
So it begins...
So what begins? Faster, cheaper and safer stringing of lines and more specialized jobs with higher pay? What is your point?
What begins?
What is the model name of this drone?

I see a drone pulling a rope, that will be used to string the cable. Personally I believe when someone builds a drone powered by a fuel type engine, they will be able to lift helicopter type loads.
What's a drone anyway? Some people think they speak English. SMH in disbelief 🙄
Um, fuel powered RCs are a thing and have been for a while. The decades kind of while.
This video is misleading. The bundle block shown is a six conductors block. To pull 6 conductors simultaneously, the sock line has to be heavier than shown, normally we use steel wire rope. The little drone won't be able to handle the job.
But this synthetic rope could be used essentially as a fish tape to pull the wire rope to then pull the conductors, reducing the cost/complexity overall.
How heavy is the line?
The drone idea is plausible, and hopefully, it can grow bigger (more power) to pull steel wire rope for a transmission project. For center phase, the drone is easier to maneuver than using a helicopter.
The drone as is today would carry the fish tape to the towers. Then, using the fish tape to pull in a synthetic rope. Using the synthetic rope to pull in steel wire rope. Eventually, using the steel wire rope to pull ACSS conductors. The fish tape/synthetic rope/wire rope require a smaller (less power) set of puller/tensioner. The steel wire rope/conductor would need a larger (more power) puller/tensioner.
A can't see a wee drone like that pulling ropes never mind winch cables

Can someone suggest, who are the suppliers of this type of Ariel roller in Asia pacific countries ?
Which country you are in? I can help you to find it.

OK,无人机俱大於洞,立桿加繩垂石,以桿通於洞而垂降无人机使绳掛勾而石垂繩下,,,即安全法,,,。
So slow, can only do a couple of spans, etc etc. No comparison to a helicopter wire pulling.

See nothing but probs. On hand work is safest and more productive.
Emotional Music not good for this video.

For most people. They saw this and thought you meant the drone was stringing the actual line. Be more specific. Use those things called words to describe your video. Or are you not getting paid enough to be smart?

Sure looks fake as hell. Could see a light fishing line maybe.
Guess you dont own any drones.
