"Voice of America" Asia Live Geoff Downes Harry Whitley John Mitchell Bergen PAC July 9, 2024 Astra

Asia performed the song "Voice of America" from their 1985 album "Astra", among other Asia classic songs at the Bergen Performing Arts Center on Tuesday night, July 9. New lead singer and bass player Harry Whitley respectfully played John Wetton's bass on stage and his vocals sounded uncannily like him! The band sounded amazing! Saw this amazing show in Spartanburg SC! Please don't let this tour go by if you want to hear Asia this good! Harry does great, Virgil Donati on drums looks and sounds like Carl. John Mitchell is an awesome guitarist and very personable too. It was a pleasure meeting Harry and John after the show. This lineup made me happy to be there and nobody had to apologize for not sounding like John Wetton.

Absolutely!!!! The perfect fit. My problem with Asia without John Wetton was precisely the voice, because John had a fabulous, distinctive voice. But seems that John sent us Harry, and here we are, back in 82!! Love this Asia dearly 💕💕

Very very good. Still sounds like Asia. I was lucky enough to see the original Wetton, Howe, Palmer, Downes version a couple of times. I'd happily watch this lineup. John Mitchell, one of the most underrated guitar players around, and a great singer too.
