The HM1000x has been around for quite a while now. Yes they are very well made and can be very accurate- however your example appears to group not particularly well. I wouldn’t be happy if it was mine.
Hi Chris, That was another honest, great review of a great looking air rifle. I'll humbly cut straight to the point. That looks like a great, hand-made, well-made quality air rifle. Materials and design, the lot. I think all RAW air rifles are all hand made and all are scrutinised by the same gentleman before they leave their premises. I think their attention to quality is their flagship. No stone unturned. Though that all costs. I don't think it is twice as accurate as an Air Arms or BSA from your groupings. I think around the same. I think you are paying for a quality hand-made air rifle and what it costs to produce. People will just have to weigh up what they want. Hand-made goods will always cost more. I think they will appeal to a fair amount of people.
@southwestshooters Thank you, Chris. It was great to receive a message from you. I very fondly remember the Theoben Rapids. Theoben set the bar for what we enjoy in pcp's and gas ram today. Although I'm not keen on the tactical style, I love the traditional style/walnut/beech stocks. I think their passion, craftsmanship, and beauty are off the scale. It's a real tough call, deciding whether to invest or not, particularly if funds are tight and how much time you have to spend with one. Personally, I feel this is a fantastic air rifle. With great respect to everyone, I think we have to consider how much time we have, how much enjoyment and satisfaction we would gain, and ask if two thousand pounds is worth that? If you look at some hobbies, you'll soon accumulate two thousand pounds. That's everyone's own personal decision. I don't think you can put a price on the excitement, enjoyment, and satisfaction of owning such a fantastic piece of kit. That said, every man's/woman's home is his/her castle!
Good review Chris, as always. To be honest, I wasn’t that impressed with the accuracy although I expect a bit more experimentation with pellets might improve that. One thing that made me say “Yes!” out loud was the fact that you pronounced Weihrauch correctly. A rare thing indeed.
One if you look at what they recommend for pellets, which is the JSV pellets, for one, using those crappy pellets or using yeah it doesn’t work very well with that rifle whatsoever as you can see not a bad video, but doesn’t give it justice to what that gun can actually do. I am the prototype of this rifle in 22 and 357 and I can tell you one thing it is a laser using the right ammo.
Hi Chris great review. Im looking to get a high end PCP had a look at the Steyr Pro X and the HM 1000X and would like your thoughts on them and what one you would go for or any others you would recommend . Cheers Nick keep up the good work.
sure your target dot is way to big i use a dot of 3 mm to shot at at 25 meters yikes use a smaller dot my frined and use a more steady rest and shoot slower
i have the raw bm500 in .177 with polygonal barrels well as lw barrel the accuracy is greater than what i see here in your video// as a fact its the most accurate air rifle i used and more consistant.. much more so than my daystate airwolf in 177 well worth the money
Hi Chris, Another great, honest review - I've not come across these before and they look like a high quality piece of kit. On another note, did you get my email I sent a couple of weeks ago? Cheers, Rich.
Also from watching the video and seeing the groups, some rifles like not very much lead in the barrel, and some really liked a leaded barrel to get the best accuracy out of it. from 15 shots to 100, you never really know until you put thousands of pellets/rounds down it to know.
Hi Chris Are you joking saying “this gun is worth 2k and the grouping was great? My GX-40 groups far better than that, I have a Redwolf and that Raw doesn’t even come close, in fact id say ALL of my 16 rifles are better than that, I’m gobsmacked. Cheers Chris
Hi chris i was looking at one of these the other day glad to see this video because i now wouldn't buy one ! Iv a daystate mk3 that shoots better out to fifty yards !
@@southwestshooters nothing wrong with your shooting chris just enjoy it iv found it doesn't matter the cost of the rifle find the right pellet for that barrel and your shooting will look amazing 😉
Excellent video of an overpriced lump of American ( US of A ) ironwork .. buy British , I mean take Harley Davidson for instance , who'd by a pile of junk like that ?
I don't really think this applies Mark. If a product is good, it doesn't matter where it comes from. We are lucky to have several excellent products to pick from UK based companies, the fact that this is American wouldn't put me off in the slightest.

Totally agree with you on this Ian. Thank you for such an insightful comment!

Nice bit of kit, like the gun don't like the price but that is just based on groupings, think there are better options out there.

Great Video. Goes to show the purchaser pays more for the machining and options with many modern airguns these days.
Definitely need to try some JSB pelets. RAW will shoot 3/8" to 1/2" @50 yards.... easily.
At long last, someone who can pronounce Weihrauch correctly!
Hi Chris, a very honest review well done. I didn't see a picattiny rail for a bipod, is there one?? .

I like this gun, I wanted this gun, the safety ruined it for me.
I now own a Blue Daystate Redwolf because of that.

Very honest review…but it’s redwolf money,and fx panthera money….but impressive…👍
Might be good in fac power but it's pretty crap, especially for the money.
