The biggest thing I love about you is the fact that you are not afraid to shoot in public even though your doing nothing wrong its perfectly legal, in my town people get so paranoid even when you tell them what you are doing still they take it the wrong way. I been pulled over many times. I truly respect your courage and bravery.
Thanks for all the time and effort you put into your POV's. It doesn't go unnoticed. You have great content and your enthusiastic attitude is awesome. Thanks man 👏👏
Love the bnw style. Lighting is key here, more then ever. I am wondering, what are your buttons and dials set to. I am still trying to figure out the best controls for street photography. Like are you shooting full manual, or any priority? What are your dials and buttons set to and what’s your thoughts behind your choice? Maybe worth a video. Couldn’t find any from you covering this topic.
I like your POV´s a lot. your a straight headed guy and your vision on the streets are remarkable. and, every time I see your POV´s and you're out with an 85mm , I get the sense I had to try it out myself. love the compressed look of this pictures! Cheers!
really enjoyed that video great stuff . I'm just getting into black and white photography and have an a7c using 85mm GM can you please tell me why you don't use the 85GM many thanks and kind regards
Thanks for the video. Inspiration 😋 What kind of focus do you use? It looks so easy here, you place camera, take photo - that's it. It's autofocus? What kind? Zone focus?
While watching your video, I also wanted to go out and try black / white photography, although the funny thing is that when it is autumn and colors, you want to take black / white photography. im begginner hobbyphotographer! :) from Estonia... :) ...
Such a sick video Sam! Big fan of the longer POV here, definitely wanna get into B&W stuff now! Counted 65-67ish, lost count after the shots on the bridge
I started out shooting black and white on film (Ilford HP5/OM10/50 1.8), this was around the era of sony mavica cameras that took floppy disks (late 90s) and have always felt that B&W photos are my safe space in photography. I always found that by removing the colours it really draws you into the subject, instead of the random brightly coloured thing in the bokeh that you spend way too long trying to work out what it is. Love the video and the shots, definitely some ideas to take forward on my next photography trip in January to Venice.
When I take black n white photos once I click on the thumbnail they turn to colour. When I open them into my video editing software they are in colour which is a shame. Any ideas why.
Only 4 minutes in and already delighted (if u can say that in english) that you tell us the settings for the guy in the park on the bench (yes I can just read it off ur monitor) - and the way you explain the framing through the window of the taxi. Fking awesome ! Another 26 minutes to go :)
I really love black and white photography I'm still new to this is it better to shoot in black and white to do black and white or is it better to shoot in colour
Immense video as always dude. I only shoot monochrome, gotta ask, are you spot metering for the highlights all the way through? How do you work out your exposure?
Your photos are stunning. Love seeing your perspective. Working in that area I kind of lost all interest/creativity in shooting any photos there, but will have to reconsider.
These shots are insane!! The harsh lighting with black and white is a perfect combo, some time in the future you should do a colour vs black and white where you go around taking photos in colour and then when you take the shot put the colour version up and then the black and white version to compare them both!
On the topic of being conscious when taking photos of people that notice you. Do you have any advice or what to say to someone when you don't have a photography portfolio/ page yet? Cause when you went up to the guy @5:57, You went up to him saying you're a street photographer, and if anyone did ask to show your work, you'd have your IG/YT to back it up and then maybe they'll be at ease with it. But what if I haven't got any of that yet, how should I approach it? I'd love to do all that type of stuff, but I think I'm choosing not to cause I'll blank out if anyone does ask me for my "work".
Awesome POV and great B&W shots. I think I counted 65 shots that were shown but no doubt thousands actually taken. Great work again and look forward to your next POV.
NICE FOREHEAD BRO ;-) Really enjoyed how you played with the different compositions. Tried to hit the thumbs up button several times for that video, but UA-cam doesn't like it. Had to give up on counting, as it was to much joy to just watch and relax!
I simply respect people who keep their promises. B&W POV. Long-awaited and finally here. Brilliant video, Sam. Thank you. And yes, almost forgot - nice forehead bro 😉
I have to admit that this was one of your best videos and i have seen almost all of them....!!! Keep going we are all huge fans of yours!!! 65 Pictures shown to us but you took over 300 for sure!!!
It was really good, to see different composition. You should again watch this there's more you can capture. That just I felt. That location was so great to capture different emotions. May be the count was arroud 65-67. Keep it up. Love your work.
For me this is your best video to date, the vibe B&W brings to a shot is incredible.. I started counting but then just got lost in the vid lol

Some absolute belters in that lot, I tried B&W my last visit to Leeds but ended up keeping more than half in colour when I viewed my RAWs 🤷♂️

Because the creative styles only work on jpeg format not RAW. You will have to shoot jpeg or raw/jpeg

65 shots I think! Love how the black and white turned out - definitely inspired me to try. That shot looking through the taxi window 🔥
I ended up picking up the Sony Zeiss 85mm 1.8 vs the Sony GM 85. It's a beautifully sharp lens.
