Every year on the last Saturday night in March, the clocks in the UK are adjusted from GMT to British Summer Time. This rather dark and shaky video is my effort at recording my contribution to this yearly excercise.
I watched this when i was 4 years now im 13, What great memories this was one the videos that made me like clocks so much....
Thank you for your comment! Many people have said the same. :)

I actually remember watching this video when I was younger.

1. I always remember this video
2. I'm addicted to this video.
I always watched this as a child, I remembered this video just a week ago but forgot to search for it, i'm so glad I found it again!!!
There will be a brand new follow-up at the end of March this year.

As a kid I was interested in Clocks with a mechanic clockwork. I still like clocks to this day. 8 years ago i watched that Video so often because of the chimes. A few days beforehand I was on a nostalgia trip and was trying so hard to find this videoI ! dont know how but 8 years later I have yet found this Video in my recommendations again. Thank you for being a part of my childhood with this Video. Regards
I remember watching this as a toddler

@@hunoreen Really?
The clocks I still have from GMT to BST (2011) are: the first one, the Junghans at 1:15, the Philip Haas at 4:14, the Chinese ship's clock at 6:31, the grasshopper clock at 7:35, the Smiths alarm clock at 8:35, and the Kienzle next to it, although the Kienzle now has a broken mainspring.
Ok. Thanks for letting me know!
What happened to the others? Did you sell them did they break? Or did it stop working

this sounds like home to me all my clocks are running and I love listening to them.
I envy UK, your country have many antique clocks and still can obtained not too expensive in flea market. Here in Indonesia, if I want to import my favorite antique clock I must pay shipping cost from UK, Netherlands, US, etc and sometimes there is import charge. That's a huge sum of money I must spend when I see beautiful clock on ebay or other online shop.

Tbh I feel bad for you Indians, you have to live with a retarded blue cat with no ears
The first clock looked like it had bellows like on the cuckoo clocks but played chime melodies. Pretty cool.
3:37 This napoleon clock has always interested me ever since I started following you. From what I've seen the chime barrel is actually redone by you. Did you redesign it to play the same melody as the original chime barrel or did you make a new one completely on your own? If it's the latter, I applaud you for making a great sounding tune. It gets stuck in my head occasionally! :)
I believe you said something about this clock still being in your repair queue in a previous video. Is that still the case? It's be great to hear it once again in a better quality! c:
It's on the bench at this very moment! I hope to have it ready for display by the middle of the month, maybe earlier.

@sooth15 Thanks Sooth15, the first is indeed a Seth Thomas, and unusually I obtained it in the UK. The second clock you mention has a locally built case and a movement by Waterbury.
What kind of clock is that Tommy Wylie? 0:02
0:52 clock sounds like a vintage westlox alarm clock
1:36 this clock always sparked my interest it is very unique
The chimes on the British Anvil clock are a one-off with a wooden chime barrel, with no known name, sorry. The case is in great need of some stain and polish, and I might get round to it someday...
The organ clock as you refer to it, is my own construction using spare cuckoo bellows attached to a Haller dual chime movement with threads. Set to Westminster it sounds hopeless!
Thank you Tommy , It is a wondeful chime.I expect you have polished the case by now.
Wat a beautifull collection
Sounds like the intro to Pink Floyd's "Time" LOL
That first clock is pretty cute.

I bought it on ebay for 99p! I then did some small repairs on it and sold it for £16! It's a Doldonia 30hr clock from Germany, 1920s.

It's Chinese, the trade mark is "555", and I bought it on ebay locally in the UK. I have no idea how much it cost, I think it was around 20GBP. The calendar display is in Chinese. They aren't particularly common, do turn up occasionally on ebay. About four to five years ago they were on sale in the USA with the days in English, so I think they were still being made fairly recently.
nice clocks man, can i ask a question with the ones that chime would of it been easier to turn the chimes off if possible to change the time ?

Hi Tommy Wylie, have you a separate Video of the first one with the cookoo voices ?
By the time you've set all them clocks it will be them to turn the back lol, nice clocks though, I only have 2 from the 1930s.
That first click you was setting is nice. Is that considered to be a grandfather clock? I asked because it has cuckoo clock bellows playin the chimes.
Love the clocks!!
Hi! What was the first clock in the video? How could I find one? I really love the way it sounds. I've become obsessed with it in only a few minutes haha!
I built that clock using a variety of cuckoo clock bellows attached to a chiming clock movement.
@@TommyWylie ive got a funny idea in my head of using those flute like things and the bellows attatched to strings on keys to make a piano like instrument that makes cuckoo sounds in a scale. What are the names of these parts if I wanted to try and find some? I dont really know clocks well, so I'm kinda guessing at how these work.
@@TommyWyliethis is very impressive!
The 1st one is the most succy
Well in this room there are 30. I estimate between 35 and 40 in running order, with more still waiting to be completed.
where can i find one of those bellow wall clocks that you have? what is the brand?
The case was made locally, the movement is by Haller, and the cuckoo bellows were bought and assembled by me.
3:07 reacts the 1st clock
do you still have your master clock from GMT to BST 2011 or did you sole it?
Sorry it's sold.
hi could you do a video about the mechanism of the clock at 5:01
I love these wharches
3:20 i cant quite see this clock its a bit dark but do you know what type it is or who made it?
Well, that's the fun part of having a clock collection. I'm having the same... 😊
Does the cuckoo clock play Westminster, Whittington & St. Michael?
It's only built to play Westminster and Whittington. Westminster sounds terrible, so I didn't bother cutting a slot in the new card dial for the chime change lever!
@@TommyWylie Why does Westminster sound terrible?
it plays Whittington
@@youssefsaleh5882 It plays Westminster & Whittington but Westminster sounds horrible which is why he never set it to Westminster.
7:55 Why do you have a clock in your bathroom? You know it can get wet and stop working right?
Two things... firstly I'm careful not to let it get wet, secondly it has a rubber seal around the back specifically to stop water getting into it. It's very likely intended for use on ships or other hazardous environments.
@@TommyWylie oh I get it, thanks, I was just curious…
Why do you have to wait for the chimes to finish on some clocks? And on some others you don't have to wait. Why is this?
On clocks with rack controlled striking, the striking will not go out of sequence. On clocks with count-wheel controlled striking, it will go out of sequence. On quarter chiming clocks, the chimes will go out of sequence but will self-correct.

Sorry I sold this clock a few years ago. You might find one similar on UA-cam or ebay.
Is there a specific name or type of clock for the first clock in the video. I've never seen one like that, and my son loves it.
This clock has build Tommy by himself
At no point did I set any quarter chiming clock through 4 quarters without letting them finish chiming. This would put them out of sequence.
Yes. That would be good for the movement, the chimes and the clock it’s self.
Childhood memories😢
I got a kick out of the first clock!
Can you please build the cuckoo wensmenster chime clock please?
