  • This short instructional video shows how to install the upgraded bushing into a Mavic FTS-L or FTS-X freehub body. This bushing replaces a worn stock or aftermarket bushing and is machined from Dupont Delrin AF. This material has better performance characteristics over other aftermarket bushings made of standard Acetal because of the addition of 13% Dupont Teflon fibers. This simple upgrade allows you to not have to replace the complete freehub body because of a worn bushing.

Hi, how long is the bushing expected to last, as i have shifting problems, the death squeel and a knocking sound from time to time?
If i may ask, If its so easily placed, does it mean the sprocket will still have a play?
    Thanks.

Hello! The bushing should last longer than the original bushing from Mavic. One of the several tests that was done was a wear test that simulated coasting for 1100 miles...there was no measurable wear.
Care is taken to make sure that there isn't any play between the bushing and the freehub body when installed, so there won't be any play as a result of that. Thank you for your comment and I hope that this info helps.

The symptom this addresses? knocking sound?

Typically with a worn bushing, your shifting suffers, and you can get squealing when coasting with wear and lack of mineral oil lubricating the bushing and the journal. A knocking sound is possible with excessive wear, I suppose.

a horrible "mavic squeal of death" when you free pedal. Usually happens in the middle of the race.
