    Honda should never have dropped the 125 S-wing. It was (and still is in some ways) the Rolls Royce of small scooters. Its ergonomics, comfort and speed are still unrivalled in its class except maybe the Forza which is rather characterless. The Burgman 125 is also a nice scooter, ruined by a poor seat and cramped riding position.

    Really enjoy your videos in fact I love them. Could you please do a maintenance video from oil changes to fork oil changes etc as I would love to work on mine but have no idea on what I am doing.

    I have Michelin City Grips on my Burgman. Brilliant tyres. Really noticed a difference in grip compared to the stock tyres.
    Interesting about the ceramic coating on the exhaust. Mine has rusted :( Suzuki didn't put a rear mud guard on it which is daft, especially for people that ride all year! ACF 50 just evaporates when riding because of the heat.

    Excellent. Im thinking about one of these for the wet / winter months and thoughts; and any good in the rain. I did have a silverwing 600 and long time ago. Cheers dan

      The S wing was as good as any other maxi scooter in the rain. I never had a problem with all of the S wings I owned. Would make a good winter commuter 👍

    Does anyone know any Phone holders for the S wing?

    Stunning bike, just a teeny bit underpowered being a 125. I have a 250 foresight which will do eighty but no rear disc or fuel injection.

    Thank you sir for your comments would you recommend a very heavy man like myself and disabled to get a scooter of some sort thanks

      Arif Haqqani I guess that depends if you are if the belief that despite your disability, you can maintain full control of a scooter in all situations. If not, I wouldn’t advise you to ride a scooter or indeed a motorcycle. As for your weight, I think this scooter was rated to around 170kgs max load. If you come in under that then no problem. Best regards

    I appreciate this video is 3 years old but would like to see how you installed the top box to the Honda. I have a SH125 with a OEM 35lt box fitted, but I am looking at a larger box. I've looked online and cannot see what's required. I do not want to drill into any of the bike. Thank you for the video.

    Nice video thanks. Nice well-cared for bike too. I was looking at the same sized Kappa box to put on my Burgman 400. Three years on (I don't know if you still have the S-Wing) are you still happy with it? I must admit I was a bit worried that it would look too big and am also considering the 46 but like the idea of being able to put 2 helmets in the 52.

    • @scootyman2974

      Eric Thexm thanks for your comments. Sadly the S-Wing went when I bought my Honda CBF1000. That’s remained in my garage under wraps and it has never made an appearance on the channel. It’s a very clean 2006 in blue with only 14000 miles on the clock. That too had the Kappa 52 transferred onto it when the S-Wing went but I have to be honest and say that box was too big for both the S-Wing and the CBF1000 in my opinion. It was fine when you were travelling solo but made the steering on both light when fully loaded. You could notice a distinctive shake of the handlebars on deceleration. We live and learn though I guess. When I tour again on the CBF, we will probably scrap the topbox altogether and use the hard panniers it came with. In place of the box, I will fit a flat rack made of plywood with holes in to strap the camping gear too. You’d be surprised how much weight that saves too when we tried it. Best regards

      @@scootyman2974 Thanks Scooty Man. Sorry (in a way) that you've left the scooter behind. I've just gone the other way: from a 2016 R1200GS to a Burgman 400. Of course I miss the 125bhp but I must say I am having fun on the scooter around the Surrey/Hants lanes but haven't ventured further than Southsea yet. Anyway, thanks for the top-box advice - possibly saving me from making a expensive mistake! Enjoy the CBF1000 - a great bike. Ride safely.

    Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the shock absorbers are mounted upside down.
    I really like your scooter, looks very comfortable and reliable.

    • @scootyman2974

      BWTNET2008 thank you for your comments. The shock absorbers do give the impression they are upside down but they only fit one way with the bottom bracket either side of the engine bush. The S Wing is a really comfortable scooter for a long journey taking into consideration its performance limits. The new shocks, tyres and fork oil all make a significant improvement to the comfort and handling. It's a shame they no longer make the S Wing now. Maybe the Forza 125 is a worthy successor? Best regards

    Hi, great vids! Have you found a way of using the space on the hump between your legs for extra fuel storage. and do you think it'd bear the weight of maybe another ten litres? (Plan to tour my Pantheon this year)

    Hi, just bought an s-wing for my commute and looking forward to using it. Great little videos you have here, when's your next one?!? The springs in the rear shocks on mine are pretty tatty and past their best, where did you purchase the YSS shocks from, and how much were they? Thanks

    Hi Scooty Man,
    I was trying to mount those YSS shocks on my S-Wing yesterday but found out that the left one is colliding with the speed-sensor cover cap. Any advice for that?
    Regards, Mike

      Michael Pampe
      Hello Mike. This week I am on a training course but once I have finished tomorrow evening, I will go into the garage and have a look. From memory I do recall the right side shock being a particularly tight fit with the bottom spring support (the aluminium cup in which the spring sits) being around 1mm only from the brake disc. To increase this I used a small washer between the bush on the support and the outer flange on the shock absorber leg to move this slightly further away. One other difference we have is I do not have ABS but I do have the Haynes manual so will have a look and post back. The springs are quite a bit larger than the originals which takes up more room. Maybe it won't work for you but I'll have a read. Best regards

    • @michaelpampe9212
      @michaelpampe9212 7 років тому

      Hi again, thanks for quick answer.
      The right side looks pretty tight too, but my problem-zone is the left side where the bottom spring support gets in contact with that metal cover cap when you try to put in the top screw. I thought about grinding some material off from that cap.....because those shocks are the only ones I could find, and I need new ones. Honda original shocks come at 285€....for one!!!!
      I do have the german version of the Haynes too, there is a good pic of the area at the end of injetction/ignition chapter.
      Neither do I have ABS.
      Plus the engine isn´t running at the moment, seems like it doesn´t get enough fuel.
      So I´ll wait an see what you find out.
      Regards, Mike

    • @scootyman2974
      @scootyman2974  4 роки тому

      It’s not an expensive job to do. Once you have raised and secured the front end of the scooter, it’s also quite an easy job to do. Probably the least expensive and most effective upgrade you can do to the S-Wing is change the fork oil. You will feel a big improvement in the ride quality.
