- Presumably, nylon-stringed guitar players think Tárrega and a steel-stringed guitar do not match. I like this piece of Tárrega music and I like my Lakewood and I particularly like the two of them when they get together.
Maybe there are like-minded people who also enjoy it, which would really give me a buzz.
Nylon-Gitarristen denken vermutlich, Tárrega und eine Stahlsaitengitarre würden nicht zusammen passen. Ich mag dieses Stück von Tárrega, und ich mag meine Lakewood und beide zusammen mag ich besonders gern.
Vielleicht gibt es ja Gleichgesinnte, denen es auch gefällt, das würde mich wirklich freuen.
Yes, this kind of piece, with the rolling finger backing, probably does suit steel string.
Also great color with the wall and candles! It's so much more relaxing than watching someone play in front of their TV set! ;-)

Very nice interpretation, I really enjoyed the moments of rubato I think it makes the piece more personal in a way.

I like crossing those boundaries to find different interpretations and quite often use my steel string for classical and my nylon for popular music. A player who I like played a classical piece on electric guitar and the effect was fabulous. So thanks ManuEla I enjoyed your playing very much and the lute sounds from steel were great. xG

I started learning this piece on a steel string, and i enjoyed it like that for a long time, until i got a solid bodied vintage suzuki classical guitar. It has spruce top and indian rosewood back and sides, the sound it produces is exactly what this piece "needs". With that said, your lakewood sounds wonderful! And your performance was top notch, well done!

There should never be limits placed on what song should be played on what instrument. Music is an art that allows for personal interpretation through whatever medium works for the individual.
I play this piece on a classical guitar, but I enjoyed hearing it just as much on an acoustic.

Quite agree on both points! 'Classical canon' started with 19th century 'musicologists' interpreting Beethoven's music, who himself could not really be bothered about it. Beethoven is even reputed to say about Rossini as 'giving the public precisely what it wanted, and nothing more!

Not a fan of the steel string for classical, but this is the best version I've heard (despite the steel strings). Beautifully performed, @ManuEla!

Liebe Manuela, ich finde diese Kombination von Tarrega und Stahlsaiten wunderschön. Mit Bach habe ich das selber auch schon gemacht, und warum nicht? Ein Künstler macht Kunst oder Musik für sich selbst. Die Leute die es gefällt bleiben stehen und genießen mit davon. Und wenn ein Nylon-Gitarist oder jemand anders sich stört an diese Kombination, dan gibt das nur seine Beschränktheit an.

das ist so was von schön ...
Ganz neutral betrachtet ist es doch vollkommen egal, für welche Art Instrument ein Stück geschrieben worden ist. So lang es so gefühlvoll differenziert vorgetragen wird, wie Du es hier vorführst, ist es doch für jeden Zuhörer ein Genuss !

I normally play this piece on my nylon-string guitar but when I tried it on steel strings it doesn't sound nearly as good as this.

by this way: ich begann ja auf der nylon und hab zu beginn klassische stücke auf der lakewood gespielt, bevor ich mit der komponiererei anfing ....

I loved it! Although I actually prefer the sound of nylon strings it just adds a bit more of a spanish feel, but thats just my opinion. Again beautiful cover!

I think it's true what you wrote in the description. A classical guitar would suit the piece better in my opinion, but you have a beautiful sound and it's an excellent version of this
piece.

in orginal there was not harmonics on 12 fret. it's sound bad.

Es estridente. Los agudos son demasiado fuertes. Decididamente Tárrega no se lleva bien con las cuerdas metálicas, por mucho que pretendan lo contrario en el subtítulo.
