I don’t love Latham’s feet. They’re a little heavy and at times evoke the ghost of Alabama tackles past. And I definitely have questions about his ability to recover against high level NFL talent when he gets out of position. But he plays with a good wide base and great knee bend; shows a good understanding of angles and how to position his massive frame for maximum advantage; plays a very patient, controlled game; has very strong hands; and does a good job of running his feet to whistle and finishing in the run game.

I agree he lost a few reps to counters inside in other games, and that will not get better at the nfl level. However is strength and more importantly technique in the run game will allow him to be successful at RT or even RG if he cant deal with NFL speed. Could be the same story as Darnell Wright, 13th pick projection +/- 5 spots

@@davidhenning9527 yeah he’s a good player. More scheme specific for me than some of these other top guys. To me he screams Pittsburgh Steeler. I’d be very tempted to line him up at RG next to Broderick and just run duo about 15 times a game and just mash people lol

@@_Ew0k I’ve come around on him for a couple reasons: 1) he showed up at the combine significantly lighter than the weight he played at last season and looked quite good in drills. If I could get him to lose another 10 pounds the natural athleticism would pop even more. 2) the natural athleticism is a real thing and what I keep going back to is the INCREDIBLE bend he plays with, not only for a man his size, but really for any size.
And a Harbaugh team is an absolutely perfect fit for him. I don’t think you could get a more Harbaugh O lineman. We’ll see. Maybe Jim has a different view but in terms of fits I think that’s about as good as it gets. Now, if he were to go to a heavy outside zone team he’d absolutely have to lose an extra 10-15 pounds from what he weighed at the combine and I would love the fit less (though I’m more optimistic now that he can do it).
We’ll see. Today’s the day.
