@nsim333 Actually the original singer, I believe, was Moriyama Ryouko who also wrote the lyrics for this most beautiful Okinawan song, with the music composed by the band Begin.

That is to be expected. When songs of any sort are translated, there have to be compromises in rhythm, which is why I always prefer to sing in original languages when possible. Even a simple "good day" can be two syllables, three, or up to six in languages other than Englsh, and that runs through meanings as well. Another problem with this arrangement is that it sounds westernised, but I enjoy listening to Hayley sing, so that's something I am prepared to accept.

荒廢多年以後, 是她讓我有再度重拾英文的動機. 誰知道, Hayley 的 Celtic 民謠固然都如英詩落落長, 這首也非等閒容易, 背得死去活來更易忘, 我真的是沒有慧根.

This was in Taiwan. It has nothing to do with Japan. Those ppl were just excited to be on TV.

it says in the clip description that it was a opening ceremony of the 2009 Wold Game not a goddamn concert. (no offense i love Hayley Westenra myself.) and you can easily assume that Hayley Westenra was not the only performer and god knows how many performance there had been before her and people need to go to bathroom or to get food or maybe even they just don't know who she was and not interested in her at all. people wasn't there just to listen to her singing after all it was not her concert.

That still doesn't excuse it; it is universally known that when attending a concert such as this one, attention and consideration for the performer(s) should be expected. It's not to say you can speak at all, I'm saying that you (in general) wouldn't like it when you were performing if the majority of the audience was talking, walking around, etc. Personally, I would be somewhat offended. My first thought would be that no one's listening. Followed by other doubts. It's just common knowledge.

do you ever pay attention to cheerleaders performance before a sport game? and by the way don't ever say something is a universally known fact or common knowledge because it may not be the case at the other side of the world.

The orchestra band needs more practice before performing at such an event.
