@@robertdelacy3434 He surely was Robert and the opposition then was tough ' unlike Frankel and Enable their opponents were poor quality and had no stamina sir. Joe was a very acumlished horse man and modest too and his passing makes me sad at present. Also Joe rode Kris for Henry Cecil and won most of his races too and was given Momentous rides by Joe. Going back to the Brigadier he beat Mill Reef in the Guineas and that proves he was a all time great .Also rate Le Moss as a all time great stayer . Kind regards Glynn n greetings from Stourbridge West Midlands UK 🤝

The Brigadier not only won all but one of his races but broke course records and beat quality fields of horses who won other big races. UA-cam vids will clarify that. And he won races from 5 to 12 furlongs and won on really soft ground. Did Frankel do that no!!

Correct only an idiot would do a flying dismount risking spooking a valuable horse hopefully one day he will break an ankle that will give him another excuse to take cocaine

I vividly remember his last race, The Champion Stakes at Newmarket, in 1972. The Brigadier won it for the 2nd year running. That final race, the ground was very soft, which The Brigadier hated . He won, but only just . His bravery, class and will to win got him home.

Class act ! On and off a horse stoicism personified loved his interview with Mike Cattermole . Intelligent, honest and as tough as old boots physically and mentally the way he handled the death of his brother who he idolised! Rip Joe
