He just convinced me why doing a mid muffler delete makes sense 😂
00:58 “i didnt hear a word you said… hippity hooplah” - b rabbit from 8 mile. That was a good impression of that battle 😂
Hahahaha good one
His answer yeah
This guys sounds like he loves the sound of his own voice. I'm surprised he didnt end all that with, "hey lemme borrow $5"
😂😂😂
Let’s play take a drink every time knockout says ya. Lol😂
I counted. A total of 98 “ya” and that’s excluding the “mm hmm” “that’s right” and “yeps”
Your car, your business. I didn't do it and don't plan to. To me, its loud enough, it snaps crackles and pops on its own. I did put on the 5" Carvin tips which look great.
Most not own the car that shit not loud stock
Maaaan f** allat! I’m deleting & keeping it pushing,..Plus if Dodge don’t void the warranty for doing it then it must be minimum to nothing
😂😂😂😂😂 MAAAAAN F** allat!!!! 😂😂😂
Mine are cut and I haven’t had no issues lol… to each their own
He uploaded this before, the mechanic is wrong AND it doesn’t void warranty, it don’t take a car guy to understand that an exhaust and a engine r 2 diff things
@@Dpwhips facts..I called my warranty company fidelity and they told me as long as you don’t mess with the cats you are fine, so any exhaust modification you want to do from the cat back you are fine..
I deleted mine and I LOVE IT
Same. Keeping it that way unless I upgrade the entire exhaust system.
I tuned him out the moment he called the resonators, “mufflers” 😂
I tuned him out as soon as he said the engine needs back pressure. He has no clue. He’s struggling to describe what’s called cylinder scavenging, exactly opposite of back pressure.
It’s a type of muffler but not exactly the same thing it just reduces a different frequency. This mechanic has no idea what he’s talking about these engines.
OE cat backs are very well designed. im not touching mine. get LTs and keep your stock exhaust imo. but civic owners are famous for loud ass exhausts that do nothing but make noise lol.
This would be true if you were talking about removing the cats or installing high-low cats , he is In fact wrong about removing mids on charger
Agreed..you are right my friend..there are about to be a whole lot of wrong opinions in these comments smh..
I have a question if you could answer it.
My 2014 SXT Blacktop Charger (bought last year as is) it already has Magnaflows on it and a rear muffler delete. My pipes are 2inch from cats - back end.
My question is: If I get my pipes redo and bigger to 2.5’inch all the way through so I can weld on my 2.5’inch tips. Would I have to get a Dyno or re checked? Or would I be fine.
@@Shhoooop a tune with any modification never hurts
It's ok guys. I promise a mid muffler delete is perfectly fine and absolutely does not affect performance in any way on these cars, good nor bad. The middle muffler, is a muffler. The resonator at the tail of the exhaust is a resonator. Words have meaning use them correctly. This gentleman is correct on one issue. People have got to stop removing catalytic converters or installing headers without getting the car tuned. Keep in mind this gentleman has a job to do, and that's what he's doing.
Agree with you and @Mikes05Hemi. This guy does talk a lot, and not all true. Really, the only true statement is properly tuning after any header replacement. Any piping work after the cats have zero effect on engine performance. Also, like so many who don’t quite understand fluid dynamics as it relates to automotive exhausts, “back pressure” is absolutely not what you want. That hinders performance. What he struggles to explain is the importance of a properly tuned exhaust system that takes advantage of exhaust pressure pulses creating negative pressure behind them to help evacuate the cylinder of spent gases. Header diameter and length are the important players with this. That’s it. Once the exhaust flow enters the cat’s the dynamic is lost, hence the reason mod’s after the cat do nothing to performance.
My scat Widebody has had a mid muffler delete for over a year now and I can tell 0 difference in performance just sounds a lot better, to each there own I guess
The mids literally are there for compliance to be sold in all 50 states. It’s when you straight pipe with no tune is when you have problems. Just removing the mids on challengers and chargers does not hurt the car at all lol
THIS. He got sold by a mechanic who takes advantage of people who are uneducated about their OWN platform.
Don’t need back pressure. When dodge test their engines it has open headers
Agreed, total BS that a car "needs backpressure". As soon as I hear someone say that, walk away.
@@SkunkieDesignsElectronics I don’t know where people get this stuff from
You guys car probabaly is a drone cannon.
This is an age old Mopar question. I’ve never known which way to go on it. I replaced my mid mufflers with dynomax mini race bullets and I’ve been satisfied with the difference in sound and I’ve definitely not noticed any loss of power
I'd say the point he was trying to get across is quality matters.
Do not to cheap out on things that aren't beneficial in value or low end performance. Considering mopars NA already get beat up on the low end where that torque needs to assist moving all the additional weight
Back pressure is a myth, and it's been proven many times that a motor doesn't need back pressure. I'm also a mechanic
I worked on race cars and HiPo street cars for decades. 100% correct a motor does not need back pressure, total BS myth.
@Skunkie Designs Electronics it's videos like this that caused me to drop my sub and move on to other creators. Damn shame too since I'm in NC and would have really liked to support a local
You dont need it if you properly tune it. You start removing with high end cars, you do feel less torque at low end. Again, that why you need a tune.
I was gonna say too, if thats the case then you prolly needa get a tune for it to accommodate for the "new" exhaust system setup, since its made a certain way and programmed from the factory.
Okay, just to add to the back pressure understanding, it’s not a matter of need. The engine definitely does not need it. Back pressure is in fact bad for engine performance. What this guy was struggling to explain is pressure pulses from combustion being used to help evacuate burnt gases from the cylinders. That requires understanding fluid dynamics to “tune” the exhaust (correct header length and diameter). Changing headers can improve or worsen this, either way it also requires tuning the pcm to correctly adjust a/f and spark to match the changes.
I did mine and i like it the sounds better i dont care what anybody says about mid muffler delete
Bro get in your car and never return to this guys shop.
I have a 2021 Mustang GT with the 5.0L Coyote V8. I’m running a Ford Performance X-pipe and Borla Mufflers! The car sounds amazing especially with the manual transmission with rev matching down shift! And yes I can tell the difference in better hp/torque! I’m not a Dodge fan but I’m sure they would benefit from an X pipe and Cat back system as well! I’m a Ford and Chevy guy so when someone tells you that you need back pressure politely laugh and go to another shop
Lmao I’m about post this bs in the Mopar tuner page. 🤣
Good info. I've been going back and forth on a mid-muffler delete. Given that they are illegal, wouldn't pass inspection, and impact resale value, I'm more inclined to do what I did on my old HEMI - get a Magnaflow or Corsa Cat-Back system. The difference is maybe $600-$1,000.
I deleted mid-mufflers and rear resonators and installed two vacuum controlled valved combo muffler/resonators in the rear resonator location with 5 inch carven tips. Also recently locked actuators open with the MFER-1. So now i can fully open and close valves which you cannot do on any cat-back system.
Mid muffler delete on my 🐈 and i love it ,,gave the car just that extra lil sound it needed...remove those mids ,you wont regret it
Cheap mod also, I deleted mid & rear but still can hear my “whine” #🐈🐈🐈
Man I'm telling you nothing sounds better than a car that's modded with the right exhaust that's loud when u get on it but mild when idling like u can hear it but it's not loud
It’s funny seeing loud cars going slow
@@demonNthesn0w like u make All that noise but ain't going nowhere 🤣
Yeah I see a lot of cars with fart cannons moving slow then some Altima zooms pass in silence at mach 5
Anything behind the converters doesn't require tuning. Do what sounds good to you.
I cut the mids off my 2020 392. Nothing any different with tq or hp.
Still hits 515-520 HP at 6400 rpm
Exactly why I bought the magnaflow competition series cat back exhaust for my RT
I swear bros uploaded this video before 😭
All scats need is the active exhaust to stay open. Quiet when you're not romping on it and loud when you want it. These kits are for sale and are easy to install.
The active exhaust does that just change your drive mode. The whole point of having active exhaust it, so it can be quiet when you want it to be. If you want it to be loud all the time just drive around in sport mode or track mode the way the cars meant to be driven.
if cars needed back pressure they would be on top fuel dragsters and funnies. Boosted cars need the most, least restrictive exhaust gas pressures to maximize efficiency. N/A cars need proper pipe sizing to effectively "scavenge" exhaust gases to pull them through and through. back pressure does non of that.
Best mechanic hands down in Charlotte!!!!
Remove resistance, (mufflers) reduce back pressure slightly. Lower end losses a bit, upper end gains.
There is such a thing as back pressure.
Don't let ill informed people tell you otherwise.
Did a suitcase Muffler delete on my Charger awhile back and I lost some Torque off the line. Never again.
Outside of changing the exhaust tips or getting an aftermarket exhaust system, keep it stock if you don’t want to pay to play 👍🏽
I never understood why people would buy a 40-100K car and then go hack up the exhuast. Mid muffler deletes sound like crap to me, just some internet hack mod. When I bought my 1st red 2015 Hellcat the previous owner had did this hack job on the car and I quickly put some Mufflers on it and the car ran and sounded much better. I could feel the added low end torque increase with the mufflers on the car and it wasn't making all those popping sounds and etc. This guy is definitely telling it like it is.👍
And that’s why I went with corsa!
messing with the exhaust near the engine like the cats will change the power characteristics like mentioned lose some down low but gain power up top and such will be different with every car new or old, engine type and size, forced induction or NA, and how the ECU reacts and either pulls timing or does some other safety measure that plays a big factor and really anything past the cats is just a restriction and will make more power
My question is why remove something that was designed, by the engineers (plural), to be there?! It's not bmw were talking about where they use 100 nuts and bolts for what could do! Unless you're going to do a full retune after adding/removing something, maybe the engineers (plural) know what they're doing more than you do!
They don’t mind a little power loss for some added sound. I thought you just had to tune it once you do the delete
Only needs tune for straight pipe to either remove cel or get a simulator which is very cheap.
Bro back pressure is bad for engines, it’s called exhaust scavenging… if your exhaust pipe diameter is too big or if you have a restrictive exhaust(meaning your exhaust creates back pressure) your car can’t expel all the combusted gas when the exhaust valve opens… so that residual exhaust in the cylinder lowers your Air fuel ratio causing that lost of power in low rpm… these cars have X-Pipes to aid with scavenging so mid muffler delete does not affect the performance of these cars at all
Chris is a genius bro!
Good looks on the info. I got a messed up scat but these videos been helping out a lot 💯💯
Isn’t this a repost?
He's right period! Yall talking about you know how dodge tested their engines, gtfh
1 parts changers opinion!!! I asked ny dodge dealer and they will not void my warranty for a MMD, and it sounds amazing ....and If the engineers are the be all end all tell me, wtf did they put 245 on a 500hp muscle car ? 🤔
This the type of dude to always talk about doing it but never had the money to do it himself.
I cut mine at 6000 miles. There’s like NOTHING inside of those mufflers. It does idle better.
Right, they are straight through just like old school glass packs.
I’m not certain he’s right but I had a muffler delete on my last scat and it had an issue with running Lean maintenance was good I had it checked constantly and the only thing that was done was a muffler delete
If folks researched anything or work as a trained mechanic that does this youll know all cars need some back pressure.
ok he knows what he is doing
Leaving my 23 HC stock
So what's the best muffler for the Hellcat without deleting your mid mufflers? Anybody?
Interesting material to heed before taking initiative
So question if i wanted to do an aftermarket exhaust it doesnt have 4 mufflers does it. Exhaust after the midpipes do absolutely nothing. But add more sound thats it. 😂.
🎩
Major cap..
This dude just talking
So we re-uploading huh 😅
Why not just dyno it for a before and after?
Get the system built for the car it isn't an issue . Research pays off when working on cars
Does this guy have a public shop in CLT?
Wow everything with that dude is like a really a negative “What not to do” kind of thing!? Just to see what happens, you should goto that guy for relationship advice!?
Hmmmm getting the blah blahhhhh blehh blah blahhhh need that tune asap 😭
Does this go for rt as well?
I literally just bought 4 dynomax bullets for 2016 hellcat
See I have a supercharged car so in order to sell it in all 50 states it must be emissions legal and decibel level legal, I don’t need back pressure. The mid mufflers do nothing add weight reduce sound. And actually my car popped more with it than it does now without mid mufflers and sounds better. But I have a hellcat not a 392.
Old azzz video 🤣 his next video will be on his new exhaust system so predictable
If you can’t afford an aftermarket exhaust, you shouldn’t be able to have that car… mid muffler delete is the poor man’s upgrade.
Mid & rear muffler delete is loud enough that I still get to hear that “whine” & for less than $500 #🐈🐈🐈
If a person want to do it it’s there car there money 💯
BS lol that’s why it’s best to learn your car better than most, that way you don’t have a guy like this having you think you screwed your car up, my Challengers engine didn’t need back pressure from my mids at Stellantis when they stress tested it….so why need it underneath my car now 😂
Most importantly it will void your warranty lol
Hey any shops in Charlotte install high performance cams?
They are a flow through design, I don't think they add that much back pressure my guy
he mad he cant get one
Dammm I wouldn't say nothing that kills back pressure and takes in all that dirty and it void ur warranty
He is a exhaust guy only. 😂 not a tuner. Good night. 😂😂😅😅❤❤
😂😂😢😢 also any aftermarket add ons does not add value to the car wtf is he talking about lol😂😂😢😢 ok im done.
No, but a hacked up exhaust system will definitely hurt resale value. On Mustangs a Borla exhaust is seen as a nice bonus for some buyers.
If I do a mid delete on my rt charger will it affect performance
from reading these comments, seems like it doesn’t but i’m not aure
So do I cut the mufflers & resonators or not? 😂 everyone saying different shit. It sounds good stock but not enough to my liking
Men IM WATCHING THE VIDEO NOT KNOWING WTF HE IS TALKING ABOUT!!!🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤣🤣🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
I went with Magnaflow X-mod. On my kitty
Word to the wise for anyone, never blindly agree with any single mechanic, no matter how long they’ve been doing it. There are a lot of bad ones out there that base their “expertise” on opinion, false info or they are just trying to sell you something.
If you actually look through the stock Charger mufflers, they will only cause a minuscule, if not zero, amount of resistance.
I'm sorry but he's wrong. Ofcourse a full professional kit is best but cutting out the mids and the resonators is just fine. The cats are the thing you shouldn't touch with a kit and tune.
Dude i love his videos because i have a scat pack … but am i the only one that sees this guy repeating himself in his videos or reposting his videos ? I swear i seen this video from him like a year ago or so 😂
Too funny, a four cycle engine doesn't require "back pressure." A two cycle engine is a different story. This is why competition 2 stroke motorcycles, and even chainsaws for lumberjack competitions have expansion chamber exhaust.
Did you just reupload it lol
Good real content. After watching will motivation this is a breath of fresh air. Thank you
Only not doing it on my cat cus ion wanna lose no whine but Ts cap 🧢😂😂
Yeah I barely can hear my “whine” wit mid & rear delete 🐈
He literally said stop being a cheap ass and buy a full exhaust. If he was an any other mechanic he would take the quick money. Just reading the comments I already know who took there car to the paisa down the block and paid 50 bucks
Tell me you don’t know what you’re talking without saying, you don’t know what you’re talking about. Rule of thumb, headers and cat modifications will always need a tune. The muffler does jack shit to affect the air/fuel ratio.
What’s a hellcat like in the rain? Somebody let me know.
It drives ok. Just cant do too much.
Use the black key in rain to reduce the chance of spinning. It does so on dry pavement fairly easily, just more so in rain. Otherwise it handles just fine like any other car if driven like any other car.
@@2dudescamp he doesn't need the black key for that. Just use 500 mode even with the red key or eco.
@@SRTHEMI that’s right!. I never leave full power track mode, so not familiar with the combinations.
Nothing but negativity with this mecanic 😂😂😂 ur car ur bissness you do whatever u want ur the one paying for it
W video plus on my scat i already spent all that money why would i try to take shortcuts
I got mid delete when I first got my scat and now that I’m in 3,000 miles it’s still runs good and sounds good so you don’t have nothing to worry about and if you don’t like it you could just have them put it back on
Maybe if these companies wouldn't charge an arm and a leg for their exhaust systems, people wouldn't do mid muffler deletes in order to get more noise out of their exhaust. Let's face it. They are all overpriced.
Seems like this guy is just trying to sell hopes and dreams to people that don’t know much about cars. These mods do nothing to impact the performance or safety of your vehicle, but to but to each their own.
360 u pulling our legs?
Serious bro.. stop cutting the pipes.. the man knows his stuff
Mid muffler does nothing but make your 392 sound like shit.. bye
This guy was so far off😂back pressure has been a myth for years...midpipes willnot do anything for the running vehicle 😂i hope this guy changed career and works for walmart....he just talks to hear himself....jack of all trades master of none😮
We all love seeing people who think they know it all 😂 goonie af
clown lost me once he called the resonator the muffler and the mid muffler the "second muffler or baffle valve" lmao go back to jiffylube
BMW pop becuase they have turbos & no blow off valve 35 seconds in & he’s wrong !
Ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya 🤣
