    If I were him,
I would shut up. Sit back and collect millions in Atlanta for 4 years

Being the owner, HC, and GM were in agreement to draft him then I would definitely say yes.

It’s possible for 3 highly paid people to be dumb. In fact it’s more likely than them being remotely smart. This has already created drama and even if it works out, will create more drama. To me this is the falcons showing they aren’t a serious organization. They’re just there to make money off fans.

In yards allowed per game, yes, but in more meaningful statistics, such as points allowed per game and sacks, they are in the bottom half of the league. I actually do really like some of what Atlanta is building on defense-especially in the secondary-but they definitely need some help in other areas like pass rush, given their subpar sack production - Caleb

Terrible analysis. Kirk’s deal is a 2 year. It could be a 1 year and a trade with an easy cap hit. The most valuable position of the nfl by far….

Nope-Kirk’s deal is 4 years with the cap savings starting after 2 years. If they cut after just a year they would lose 25 million in cap because of dead money (65 million dollar cap hit), and if they trade him after a year, while they wouldn’t lose net cap they’d still be on the books for most of his salary-a 37.5 million dollar cap hit. (overthecap.com/player/kirk-cousins/1443). The cap benefits to getting rid of Kirk start after year 2, not year 1. Definitely agree though that it’s the most valuable position by far, which is why I can argue for the Penix pick. It’s just puzzling in the context of the fact that Kirk signed his deal less than two months ago - Caleb
