I do still have a slight unplaceacle accent, even after reaching native-level fluency in English over 10 years ago but it's a coin toss what language I think or dream in. Sometimes I'll be asked something in one language and answer in another. Happens all the time when I have to switch a lot. My working theory is that you don't really think in any language. It's only when you need to actually express something or make an active effort to find out what language you're thinking in that the whole thought construct solidifies into one or the other, and only for that moment. I've dreamt in fluent French, Spanish and Japanese despite being nowhere near fluency in those languages. To me this is proof that the brain doesn't operate on a language unless it has to. Sorry for going off on such a tangent.

American dad and Japanese mom is what I read. Her dad probably went to Japan from Nevada, met and married mamamee, went to texas together. Then pikamee was born, went to Japan at 3 years old. Through her teenage years for a while, came back to texas, then finally back to Japan. With or without her parents at the end, that IDK.
I'm like 99% sure she is mixed, most likely her dad is a foreign worker/military. Her English is so amazing! Most Japanese born girls I've met do not speak that good of English. Her English is even better than a lot of foreign students that I know. It's crazy. Growing up watching anime, and learning they all learn English in school(for 6 years?), I came to expect them all to know English. But I was so surprised when I was in Japan, and how even girls who are 18ish can't speak it at all! I'm always amazed by how good her pronunciation is, and how she is able to switch between the two languages at ease.
The thing is that there are barely any way for them to practice the language. Studying a language for 6 years won't matter if you have no chance to use it.
All I can imagine is Pikamee's dad with this big board with all these pictures, tacs, and strings, as he tries to figure out where his daughter is streaming so he can support her and possibly embarrasse her with stories of her childhood.
