I love how you never give up on your plants! Great information on how to get rid of vine weevils plus looking forward to seeing how to use nematodes too.
I have boldly ventured out to "garden at night"....let's just say, between the bats, mosquitoes, raccoons and bobcats lurking around....they had other plans. The freaks come out at night...they can have it 😅Great video Jason, I learned alot.
I don't mind getting freaky at night but Bobcatts?? No sir! Big brother you're better than me cause my behind would be staying indoors!!! 🤣🤣🤣 So glad you enjoyed the video. I hope you've been keeping well ❤
Great video 😊 I'm glad you were able to save the plants. They definitely look much better. I hope you have a wonderful garden this year. I'll be watching. Have a great day and happy gardening 🌿🌱😊🤗
@@CloudGardenerUK slow. My tomatoes never germinated. I shouldn't have used those peat pellets. Everything else is good so far. I'll plant more seeds today and tomorrow and make another video.
Wow! You did a great job to rescue your plants. I had vine weevils in my pot plants years ago and everything got wiped/munched out. You are an inspiration to keep trying and don't loose heart ❤️
This video 📹 was very interesting, and yes I have seen these insects before in my garden. I usually pick them off one by one, then put them in the garden recycling ♻️ bin. Also this video was very informative and useful in keeping these insects under control. I can't wait for your next video, and keep up the great work Jason ❤😊.
I had never heard of vine weevils and by the time realised had lost some plants..Most of the grubs had turned into the bug stage and at night collected them and needed to go through other plants to look for grubs. They hide in the day but mine had settled under leaves in the plants so found some in the day and can't seem to find any bugs now. I'm waiting on nemotodes too. Enjoyed this channel and thank you for sharing
Hi Anne!! What were the ants doing? Farming aphids? Just think qt 3pm your time I'm probably out in my garden looking for bugs 🤣🤣 Thank you for watching 🥰
I found a few of these beetles last summer. I had no idea where they were coming from of what they were. They all got sucked up by my handheld vacuum 😂 After a couple of weeks I stopped seeing them 🤞 that's the last time I see them munch my plants
📝 buy a handheld vac! 🤣 I'm checking Anazon right now 🤣 We live so close but these things don't even fly and it's so weird that we both got them on our balconies! You may want to go through and double check your containers this year before we get into the season just in case there are a few survivors 🙈😩🤣 🥰
I also go out at night to check for the beetles I use a torch because they love hydrangeas ..I shine the torch under the leaves and then you can see the beetle through the leaves…I also use nematodes with great success .. I do my pots beginning of spring and late autumn because they hibernate in winter ready for the spring …don’t forget to kill the eggs too if you go through your potting compost …you have to use the nematodes within days of receiving them and keep them in the fridge until you do …I had seen the beetles on my plants at night time but didn’t know what they were until one day I thought I’d check to see..I was shocked and also I knew why my hydrangeas looked like they needed water when I’d watered them ..I hate them now and know the distraction they can do..I have great joy in stamping on them at night time ..my neighbours think I have gone out at midnight with my torch lol ..
I had my first experience with vine weevils and fungus gnats last year 😮 it was devastating as a novice gardener. Sorry you got attacked. Could you please do one on the gnats? I'm still struggling, indoor plants and what I managed to rescue from my windy balcony.
Your safe at night because your on your balcony... me... however would not be in the garden late at night. My home is surrounded by woods and the sounds I hear at night😐

I can’t believe how well the heuchera recovered! 😍 I’d have thrown it away and I’d have been wrong

So nice of you! Thank you David. I'm so glad you found the video informative. Hopefully, it will help someone in need :)
Hair looking fresh.
Thank you! This year I'm going to try and rock my hair out a bit more 🙈 Cause I'm lazy and just throw on a hat 🤣

I love the 2am shot. Haha. My problem in the veggie patch was ants this year…
Sending hugs from NZ 🇳🇿

I had the dreaded Vine Weevil.
Think it's under control now and I treat twice a year with Naematodes. 👍

I go out at night as well with a torch, you are not alone.
The eye roll , look and the shoulder roll says it al. I feel your pain
And yes I’m on my balcony at night as well. 😅
Chile!! Thank goodness cause I be creeping around like Scooby Doo up here. Glad I'm not alone 🤣

Yes! That's the one saving grace! At least it's safe..
Surrounded by woods? Does that mean you get loads of insect visitors?
@@CloudGardenerUK yep and millions of mosquitos because I'm also near a creek🤦🏾♀️
