Such a great video and great delivery- subscribed! (I lost 7 awesome houseplants to mealybugs after battling for 2 years- didn't know about systemics till recently).
For flying insects (gnats), the easiest and most fun solution for me has been Butterworts/Pinguicula plants. They are carnivorous plants with sticky dew (not the ones with little mouths). They trap and absorb any flying insects. They are super easy to grow, since they want permanently wet soil, which means never having to guess how much or when to water. They also have very pretty and abundant flowers (some of mine never stop flowering). I just have a few nestled between groups of plants and I can count the amount of gnats I've seen flying around in a year time on one hand. Notes on care: they prefer distilled water which is available in most grocery stores (also used for clothes irons), higher humidity gives them more dew, they like sunlight. Drosera/sundew plants function basically the same. These are slightly less effective for small gnats but do look spectacular especially when they have big dew droplets which are gorgeous (again: high humidity). Hope anyone with flying insects try them out!
I love Monsteras also. I use a systemic And still get little honeydew but I see no insects. Use a hand held microscope and nothing. Driving me crazy. No more fungus gnats though 🎉
If your spraying, a 1% bio pest oil mixed with the insecticide will help kill older scales that are full of eggs spray august and late September seems to work here but I use two different spray chemicals (transform and trivor)
Worry not though, the nanny government of my country made sure to ban any systemic product that could be effective to eliminate thrips from a houseplant collection. Because a wrapped definition of ''safety'' will eventually suck the joy out of every aspects of life.
Hi.why does my pothos have brown dry spots on certain leaves?I use previously boiled water,it's indoors and gets to see the sky a few times a week.no direct sun......it's almost spring here in SA.what am I doing wrong?
The whole system is calibrated to water, the mass of volume corresponds to the volume of water (1g = 1mL) but if what you're measuring isn't water 0 like these granules - the mass is going to be different. If the substance is lighter or heavier than water, 1g =/= 1mL. Hence my confusion as to their choice of units of measure!

This is all good to use on an ornamental inside plant eg non food crops it kills bees if you use it outside

I have fought for years the scale in my sabal and sago palms. I was about to dig them up before seeing what this product would do. It has been GREAT

Thrips do that for sure. Hard to find..you move the plant they go to hide...

I used the alcohol with cotton buds and some vinegar with tiny bit off soap with water
